Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

25: He immediately chickened out in Chapter 25.Yet they never expected Ye Qingqing would beat them to such a state. Now, forget being a rich second-generation heir; even finding a resident willing to take them in was impossible. After all, who wouldn’t feel uneasy seeing them with faces like that?

Moreover, Lin Wanrou discovered they couldn’t even borrow a bathroom; everyone found them repulsive and unlucky.

Lin Wanrou even thought of checking out the apartment on the 8th floor that had previously taken in Wang Dongmei.

However, it was Wang Dongmei herself who opened the door. How could Wang Dongmei possibly let Lin Wanrou in to compete for food?

Even worse, upon seeing Lin Wanrou’s bruised and swollen face, Wang Dongmei wore an expression of utter disgust and directly grabbed a broom to swing at her.

”Where did this unlucky trash come from! Get out of here!”

Due to the pain all over her body, Lin Wanrou had nowhere to dodge when Wang Dongmei’s broom came down. But through Wang Dongmei’s figure, Lin Wanrou clearly saw the current state of Zhao Haitang’s home.

Because at that moment, Zhao Haitang’s home resembled a large garbage dump. The living room was filled with trash, and there were even unidentified liquids suspected to be urine.

Ever since Wang Dongmei and Qian Jinpang moved into Zhao Haitang’s home, they never once cleaned. Initially, Zhao Haitang, feeling it was her own home, would tidy up.

But gradually, Zhao Haitang realized that even if she cleaned, Qian Jinpang would immediately dirty it again, as if deliberately opposing her.

And he often made bewildering statements, frequently telling Zhao Haitang: ’My grandma said we paid to live here. Since we gave money, you have to serve us!’

After saying this, Qian Jinpang would start urinating right in front of Zhao Haitang, peeing all over the living room, some even splashing onto the sofa.

Zhao Haitang couldn’t take it anymore. She grabbed a kitchen knife, ready to fight them.

But Wang Dongmei, though appearing thin and small, possessed astonishing strength!

And Qian Jinpang, despite his young age, his substantial bulk wasn’t for nothing.

When Qian Jinpang saw his grandmother being bullied—though usually heartless and even cursing at her—in critical moments, he truly stepped up.

He charged forward, bit Zhao Haitang’s leg, causing her to scream in pain. The kitchen knife in her hand also became unsteady due to the agony.

It looked like it was about to fall onto Wang Dongmei.

But Wang Dongmei, having scrambled and fought for so many years, wasn’t inexperienced in brawls. Seeing the knife about to fall, she immediately moved aside.

The kitchen knife slipped from Zhao Haitang’s hand and landed on her own foot. Zhao Haitang wanted to go out and seek help, but Wang Dongmei and Qian Jinpang pinned her to the ground and beat her fiercely.

Her body was also covered in the fresh urine Qian Jinpang had just released.

After beating Zhao Haitang, Wang Dongmei even hid the home first-aid kit, refusing to let Zhao Haitang bandage her wounds.

Due to the Typhoon’s influence, the weather became muggy and humid. The wound on Zhao Haitang’s foot quickly became inflamed. She begged Wang Dongmei several times for the first-aid kit.

But Wang Dongmei was heartless and enjoyed watching Zhao Haitang suffer.

Because as long as Zhao Haitang was bedridden, no one would compete with them for food, allowing Wang Dongmei’s fat grandson to eat more.

Moreover, since it wasn’t Wang Dongmei’s own apartment, she wreaked havoc on Zhao Haitang’s home. Midway, she even snatched Zhao Haitang’s phone to prevent her from sending messages in the Building Chat Group.

”Young people these days are all black-hearted! They’ve never suffered hardship! Bullying an old woman like me who can’t send messages in the Building Chat Group!”

”I’m taking your phone now; let’s see how you send warnings!”

And Zhao Haitang, due to her own do-gooder mentality, now lay starving in bed, waiting for death.

Every day, she could only wait until the dead of night to crawl out of her room and steal some raw rice from the kitchen. If caught eating during the day by Wang Dongmei and Qian Jinpang, she would be beaten—even though all the food Wang Dongmei and Qian Jinpang were eating belonged to Zhao Haitang herself.

Zhao Haitang felt deep resentment and regret, often thinking how things would have been better if she hadn’t let Wang Dongmei and Qian Jinpang in that day.

But where in this world is there a medicine for regret?

However, none of this had any impact on Ye Qingqing.

Because Ye Qingqing had discovered something important: she noticed the Typhoon seemed to have weakened significantly.

Previously, the Typhoon outside was so strong it seemed capable of sweeping everything off the ground. If not for the layer of floodwater, Ye Qingqing even felt objects swept into the air by the Typhoon would smash the surrounding buildings to pieces.

But at this moment, Ye Qingqing didn’t dare take any action, because venturing out in this Typhoon would still blow a person away.

Ye Qingqing was actually thinking that when the Typhoon weakened a bit, she could go out for some ’zero-dollar shopping.’ After all, judging by the flood’s rise, those supplies would eventually be submerged underwater whether she took them or not.

Better they benefit her than go to waste in nature.

By the 10th day, the water level had risen to the 9th floor.

The 9th floor meant the building was now packed with people; countless individuals were sleeping in the corridors.

And the most terrifying thing was: there was no food left.

During these days, electricity had cut out, and water supply had stopped. The most critical issue wasn’t drinking water.

It was the sewer—it simply couldn’t flush.

Some people living in the corridors wanted to borrow bathrooms from residents on their floor.

But the residents refused, because even their own household waste couldn’t be flushed, let alone that of corridor dwellers.

Moreover, with food now scarce, if corridor dwellers harbored malicious intent and stole food, the residents would have nowhere to even cry.

The entire world seemed to have hit a pause button. Everyone was trapped inside the building; those inside couldn’t get out, and those outside couldn’t get in.

The whole building was like a besieged fortress.

During this period, many people sought the Building Leader’s opinion, but the Building Leader was also just a resident in the complex—what opinion could he have?

Yet under these circumstances, this Building Leader, Zhao Degang, came up with a plan and even gained quite a few followers.

Zhao Degang gathered a group of people responsible for collecting food.

Under the guise of the critical situation, he claimed everyone should unite and wait for national rescue, even delivering lengthy sermons.

The 32nd floor was also canvassed by Zhao Degang. However, upon seeing the five men in unit 321, Zhao Degang instantly cowered.

”Brother Long, we can be considered acquaintances. And with your group being so large, why not join us? We can share food together. In this disaster, everyone’s having a tough time.”

But Huo Sixian immediately saw through it upon hearing Zhao Degang’s words: ”Join what? Joining you means directly contributing our food supplies?”
