Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

40: Chapter 4 Several Ruthless PeopleYe Qingqing couldn’t help but feel that these zombies’ ears were truly sensitive; they could hear even the slightest rustle clearly.

However, she soon understood. These zombies relied entirely on a primal urge for flesh and blood. If the Ye Qingqing of her previous life had to survive by drinking human blood and eating meat...

...perhaps she would be just like these zombies, rushing forward at the slightest sound.

So, for a moment, Ye Qingqing could understand these zombies. From another perspective, they were just trying to obtain food by any means necessary.

Huo Sixian looked at the supplies piled up in the hallway and fell into deep thought.

If they were a bit selfish, Huo Sixian and the others, along with Ye Qingqing, could actually take these supplies for themselves.

Ye Qingqing even felt that many people living on the top floors would do exactly that.

Because it wasn’t just Ye Qingqing’s building; supplies were being air-dropped to the top floors of all residential buildings. In the current situation, zombies were scattered throughout the buildings—possibly on the stairs of the emergency exits or in the hallways.

In short, it wasn’t easy for the residents downstairs to reach the top floor to get supplies.

”What do you all think?” Huo Sixian asked the group in a low voice.

In truth, Huo Sixian knew exactly what his brothers were thinking, but he still needed to ask Ye Qingqing, so he used this approach.

If it were the Ye Qingqing from her previous life, she wouldn’t have hesitated to take them for herself. But the current Ye Qingqing was one who had lived a second life.

She had her space and her own supplies, so she really didn’t want to seize others’ survival resources.

Moreover, Ye Qingqing believed the zombies in the building had to be cleared. Even if it wasn’t for the sake of the survivors’ supplies, she felt the iron gate at the entrance of the 32nd-floor Fire Escape wouldn’t hold for long.

It would be better to clear the zombies in the building now, while more people hadn’t yet been infected with the zombie virus.

Otherwise, as the number of zombies grew, they would eventually break through the iron gate. When that happened, everyone on the 32nd floor would be in danger.

Thus, Ye Qingqing felt they could clear the zombies and distribute the supplies at the same time.

But she didn’t know what the others were thinking.

Ye Qingqing was afraid that if she spoke her mind, Huo Sixian and the others would think she was too much of a ”Saint Mother.”

In the Post-Apocalyptic World, ”Saint Mother” was not a compliment; it meant having excessive sympathy and causing all sorts of trouble for teammates.

So Ye Qingqing was worried about that, but at this moment, everyone’s eyes were fixed intently on her.

No matter how slow she might be, she realized they were waiting to see what she would choose.

So, Ye Qingqing spoke softly, ”How about... while there aren’t too many zombies yet, we go and take care of them?”

As soon as Ye Qingqing made this suggestion, Huo Sixian immediately breathed a sigh of relief. He knew he hadn’t misjudged her.

But Huo Sixian added, ”Even though we are retired Soldiers, we don’t have much patriotism left in our hearts. You don’t have to worry about us having an excess of ’Saint Mother’ sentiment.”

”Actually, in this situation, there’s no problem with dealing with the zombies. Even if we took all these supplies for ourselves, once the zombies in the building multiply, we’d still be facing a dead end.”

”It’s better to rush down now and encourage the survivors in the building to clear out these zombies together.”

Hearing Huo Sixian’s words, Ye Qingqing was stunned. This...

Huo Sixian’s thoughts were exactly the same as hers. Just a moment ago, she was worried they would think she was too much of a ”Saint Mother.”

She hadn’t expected their thoughts to align perfectly with hers.

This only strengthened her resolve that she could team up with them.

”Then... let’s do it!”

Ye Qingqing narrowed her eyes, then went back to her home and brought out a long machete, which looked like it was meant for slaughtering pigs.

However, it was perfect for dealing with zombies right now.

When Ye Qingqing went back, Ah Huang followed closely behind her.

Ah Huang was exhausted too; he had been through Lu Huan’s devilish training all morning and was now so tired he barely had the strength to walk.

Seeing Ah Huang return, Ye Qingqing immediately put him into her space. Partly to test the space, and partly because she was worried about leaving a dog home alone.

If their home was broken into while she was out killing zombies, what would happen to Ah Huang?

So, Ye Qingqing chose to take Ah Huang with her.

While Ye Qingqing waited in the hallway with her Pig-slaughtering knife, she was stunned by the way Huo Sixian and the others made their appearance.

Because Huo Sixian and the others had completely changed their gear. Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but rub her eyes.

She couldn’t have been mistaken. What Huo Sixian and the others were holding were real weapons—the kind of real hardware that used to only appear in movies or picture books was now right in front of her.

Retired Soldiers... would they have these firearms and ammunition?

Ye Qingqing couldn’t help but recall the crisp sound of a box dropping she had heard in the elevator area when she first moved in.

She hadn’t guessed wrong; those things really were...

What kind of golden thigh had she latched onto! And it was a solid gold one at that!

”Qingqing, stay behind us and be careful,” Huo Sixian said to Ye Qingqing in a deep voice.

Ye Qingqing naturally had no objections to this arrangement. She had originally thought it would be a tough battle, but she hadn’t expected Huo Sixian and his group...

...to pull out actual guns.

The moment Huo Sixian opened the iron gate of the 32nd-floor emergency exit, zombies rushed up. Huo Sixian didn’t want to waste bullets in close combat.

So he picked up a dagger and slashed directly at the nearest zombie.

The moment the dagger made contact with the zombie’s head, the head fell straight to the ground.

Lu Huan, Zi Yi, and Meng Hangfei were not to be outdone; they picked up their weapons and got to work.

This made Ye Qingqing look a bit dazed because, standing in the back, she didn’t even need to do anything; she just had to follow the people in front.

Ye Qingqing felt secretly delighted. This was too great!

When they reached the 31st floor, Huo Sixian’s expression darkened. After exiting the Fire Escape, he found many zombies wandering in the 31st-floor hallway.

Furthermore, there were many zombies in the emergency exits below.

At this point, daggers were no longer very effective.

Huo Sixian and the others picked up their guns and began to fire.

The residents in the building heard the gunshots and instinctively wondered if The Authorities had sent people to rescue them.

When the residents on the 31st floor looked through their peepholes and saw it was the ruthless people from the 32nd floor, they felt a moment of fear.
