Apocalyptic Disaster: The King of Soldiers' Ultimate Pampering

32: Chapter 32 Now!When Ye Qingqing hid inside her space, her heart was still thumping violently because the appearance of that person just now shouldn’t be considered human.

”Too eerie...”

This time, Ye Qingqing discovered that when she entered the space, she could see the surrounding environment, although the visible range wasn’t very large.

It was like hiding in a small room with a single window through which the outside scene could be observed.

Ye Qingqing noticed that after she entered the space, that ’Things’ suddenly stopped moving, standing still as if it had lost its target.

At this moment, Ye Qingqing realized that the ’Things’ in front of her was wearing a shirt printed with the logo of this Department Store.

Clearly, this ’Things’ had been an employee of the Department Store, but why had it become like this now?

However, seeing that the ’Things’ stopped moving after she entered the space, and recalling its grey pupils, a doubt gradually surfaced in Ye Qingqing’s mind.

Could it be that this ’Things’ is blind?

Doubt filled Ye Qingqing’s heart, so to seek the truth, she took a deep breath and then silently slipped out of the space.

Reappearing exactly where she had entered the space, Ye Qingqing found herself facing that ’Things’. The moment they were face-to-face, she held her breath, prepared to dive back into the space the instant it moved.

To her surprise, as she exited the space, the ’Things’ remained motionless, as if there were no one in front of it.

Ye Qingqing breathed a small sigh of relief. However, the moment she exhaled, the ’Things’ suddenly began to move again.

Terrified, Ye Qingqing immediately ducked back into the space.

Ye Qingqing saw that the ’Things’ was currently raising its hands; the skin on its hands was also a greenish-grey, while the nails were pitch black like ink, sharp and long.

Furthermore, dense black veins had appeared on the arms of the ’Things’.

From a distance, it looked somewhat like a zombie from a movie, but even more like a ghost from a horror film. In short, just staring at that ’Things’ for a few moments would give one goosebumps.

Ye Qingqing’s heart was in her throat; she certainly couldn’t defeat this ’Things’ on her own.

But she didn’t know where Huo Sixian and Kong Ziyi were now, and she even suspected they might have met with a grim fate.

Before she knew it, Ye Qingqing had already spent one minute inside the space.

Every extra minute spent felt like a loss, as she only accumulated three minutes of time per day.

With the ’Things’ standing there motionless, it had already wasted one minute of Ye Qingqing’s time.

If this ’Things’ continued to have a standoff with her...

The ’Things’ could afford to wait, but Ye Qingqing couldn’t.

Inside the space, Ye Qingqing began pacing back and forth, pondering what to do.

She still didn’t know the situation on Huo Sixian’s side—there wasn’t even a sound—and the ’Things’ in front of her remained still.

A bold idea formed in Ye Qingqing’s mind.

The ’Things’ hadn’t made a move when she first stepped out.

It only reacted after Ye Qingqing took a breath.

Ye Qingqing guessed that the ’Things’ couldn’t see, but it could smell.

To verify this hypothesis, the moment she stepped out of the space, she immediately held her breath.

Sure enough, the ’Things’ in front of her didn’t move at all. Overjoyed, Ye Qingqing realized she had found a way to break the deadlock.

Ye Qingqing hunched her back slightly and carefully began to withdraw from the ’Things’s’ reach, but she had only taken one step...

When the sound of her shoes hitting the floor immediately alerted the ’Things’ behind her.

Helpless, Ye Qingqing had to re-enter the space. This time she realized that the ’Things’ relied not only on its sense of smell but also on its hearing.

Perhaps hearing was even more important.

Inside the space, Ye Qingqing took off her shoes and put on non-slip, wear-resistant socks to ensure she would make the least possible noise while running.

Once prepared, Ye Qingqing summoned her courage, held her breath, and flashed out of the space. Seeing that the ’Things’ showed no reaction, she began to move sideways with extreme caution, making sure not to make a sound.

Indeed, as Ye Qingqing moved like a thief, the ’Things’ was completely unaware of her presence, standing there absolutely motionless.

However, as time passed, Ye Qingqing gradually felt she was running out of air. She let out a tiny breath, breathing in small sips.

But because of that breathing sound, the ’Things’ instantly caught her presence and moved frantically toward her.

Seeing this, Ye Qingqing didn’t hesitate to run. She took off, bolting straight for the upper floors. She didn’t know where Huo Sixian and the others were at this moment.

But a strong feminine intuition told her that only by finding Huo Sixian and the others would she have a chance of survival.

This kind of ’Things’ had actually appeared inside the Department Store, and from Li Zhuowen’s screams they had heard earlier, she knew there was more than one.

Even if Ye Qingqing could rely on her space to hold her breath and stay silent to return to the 7th floor and drive the inflatable boat home...

There was no guarantee she wouldn’t encounter these ’Things’ again on the way. So, Ye Qingqing prepared to regroup with Huo Sixian.

However, the movement speed of this ’Things’ was incredibly fast; several times, it almost caught up to her.

Ye Qingqing’s running also made noise, so she gasped for air openly, but whenever the ’Things’ was about to catch up, she would hold her breath and start moving inch by inch.

It was very strange; as long as there was no movement or breathing nearby, the ’Things’ wouldn’t move. If it just stood there, it looked like a human statue.

Ye Qingqing’s mind raced. Since the monster could only hear sounds, if something making noise moved in the opposite direction, would the monster chase after it?

Ye Qingqing thought this and acted on it immediately.

She suddenly pulled an alarm clock out of her space and set it to go off in three seconds.

Holding her breath, she watched the creature while winding up her arm. When she felt the time was right, she immediately hurled the object to the other end of the corridor.

The alarm clock traced a perfect arc through the air, and the moment it hit the ground heavily, it let out a piercing sound.

It’s now!
