I AM the Football Star

Strangely, this nationwide reflection is limited to the internal circle of Italian football.

Only Italian fans are wondering if they’ve loved the wrong person.

But outside of Italy, the entire European football community is cheering for San Remo’s stunning comeback.

”Oh my God! Is this real? Can there actually be such a badass long shot?”

”Carrel is way too amazing! The speed on that ball!”

”Damn! Lu Yang’s long shot is even faster? And from further away!”

”I think they could participate in the Olympics, they’re so aligned with the Olympic motto of higher, faster, stronger.”

”This Perotti must be out of his mind! How could he make such a tackle?”

”If you can’t stop others, fouling them is already pretty lousy, let alone a retaliatory foul like this!”

”That red card is totally justified.”

”Bai Zhami is so fast, what a pity!”

”Some say the Purple Lily got overturned by San Remo because they were one man down. But I think at that time, San Remo was clearly gaining momentum, and the Purple Lily would have conceded even if they hadn’t lost a man!”

”Yeah, on the one hand, the red card reflects Perotti’s emotional and personal issues. But at the same time, we can’t ignore the situation it represents, because by then San Remo had already gained the advantage on the field.”

”That the Purple Lily managed to hold their ground against San Remo with ten men is partly because Carrel’s performance was too amazing, his hat-trick was simply godlike. In such form, Carrel can single-handedly take down any big club! Any one of them!”

”Moreover, credit must be given to the Purple Lily players’ toughness. They blocked Lu Yang’s scoring chances with their bodies, forcing him to change his scoring method.”

”But unfortunately for Carrel, he faced Lu Yang, who was also in top form, and in this match, he could take down almost any team.”

”Having players who can transform into superstars at any moment is great, our Atletico Madrid just lacks a superstar with explosive potential!”

”Who doesn’t feel that way? This is also why the value of top stars far exceeds the gap in their actual skill levels compared to other players. It’s just that little bit more that numerous teams desperately lack.”

”Just looking at Lu Yang’s match, he definitely has the demeanor of a superstar!”

”That final three fake shots that fooled the camera, absolutely godlike!”

”Damn... I feel that the Puskas Award is under the most pressure right now, it’s only February, and the goal of the year is already decided. How will their awards committee even cope this year!”

”This goal has directly reduced the excitement for freestyle football this year. Everyone was aiming for this, and now...”

”It’s alright, Lu Yang has already won three consecutive Puskas Awards, he won’t win again. Otherwise, they might as well rename the award the Lu Yang Award.”

However, there was another piece of news that was quite touching.

Just after the match ended, as San Remo’s bus was just leaving Frankie Stadium, it was forced to stop by a silver Rolls-Royce Phantom.

The car door opened, and Sofia stepped out from the driver’s seat, waving at the bus.

Cheering erupted instantly from the San Remo team bus.

”Lu, Sofia’s here to see you!”

”Oh my, I feel like I’ve been dealt a critical hit!”

”Shouldn’t Sofia be in the United States?”

”Could it be that she rushed over rapidly to console Lu due to worry about the team getting knocked out?”

”That must be it, I remember Sofia said she wants to be present at all important moments in Lu Yang’s career. If we had lost today, it really might have been a significant event in Brother Lu’s career...he’s never lost so miserably before.”

”Fortunately, we won, so does that mean Sofia came for nothing?”

”There’s no such thing as a step taken in vain in life, every step counts. If she didn’t console a losing Lu Yang, can’t she celebrate a victory with a winning Lu Yang?”

”Awesome! She’s the ideal girlfriend from China! Wait, why did I say China?”

”Not only did you mention China, you’re even speaking Chinese, otherwise, how could the readers understand?”

”Lu, go ahead, may you be happy!”

Meanwhile, Morici maliciously cursed, ”Lu, go enjoy your private world, but from the looks of things, you might end up crying terribly tonight!”

The teammates all burst into laughter.

Leaving with a sore waist?

That indeed sounds painful.

”Let me reiterate, don’t measure my abilities by your standards, Momo!” Lu Yang said, smiling as he got off the bus.

On the highway, Lu Yang and Sofia hugged tightly, then kissed passionately.

There were quite a few journalists and fans around, each crazily capturing this classic moment.

”They say tonight I’ll leave with a sore waist.” Lu Yang laughed.

Sofia bit her lip, her eyes burning as she looked at Lu Yang, and asked, ”That’s what I was planning, what about you?”

Lu Yang whispered in Sofia’s ear, ”I’ll...enter with care!”

Then, he wrapped an arm around Sofia, and they drove the Rolls-Royce together to the hotel Sofia had booked to celebrate the festival.

But Lu Yang expressed that he truly didn’t know that Morici’s resentment over this matter would last so long.

To the point that when Morici was interviewed in his later years, he still obsessively speculated and fabricated stories about that night.

He remained convinced that Lu Yang cried terribly that night.

But in reality...it was Sofia who cried.

...

On February 23rd, this year’s Oscar award ceremony was held grandly.

Lu Yang was invited to the event, but he was absent due to participating in team training.

However, he still shared his invitation, which made countless entertainment stars who wished to attend but couldn’t extremely envious, especially domestically.
