I AM the Football Star

Morici was confused, not knowing which of his words offended.

Could it be... are there any forwards who don’t pursue scoring percentage?

”Shooting guaranteed to score,” does this violate a forward’s taboo?

Morici isn’t a forward, so he’s unsure if he wished wrongly.

Just like wishing a college student to score a hundred in a level four exam, it’s well-intentioned but counterproductive.

”Morici, get in the car.” Talista approached from behind, noticing Morici spacing out, and gave him a tug.

Morici nodded and walked with Talista, then suddenly had a bold idea.

”Talista.”

”Hmm?”

”I wish you... miss your shots?”

”Are you serious?”

”Uh, seriously... well, hey, why are you hitting me... let’s talk it out... I didn’t curse you... damn it, you forwards have too much drama, f*ck!”

Four days later, San Remo challenged Rome away.

Their grueling schedule had only two games remaining.

Once Rome and AC Milan are dealt with, they’ll have a lighter period ahead.

As both teams entered, the commentator discussed the match issues: ”Recently, San Remo’s matches have been quite packed, and almost all opponents are strong teams, posing great challenges.”

”But surprisingly, they’ve only lost to Florence so far.”

”Of course, such high-intensity matches have exhausted their players greatly. We can see Morici’s eyes are even bruised, huh... has he been staying up late too much?”

”Oh, it shouldn’t be dark circles, as it’s a bit swollen. Has Morici been injured? When did it happen?”

The San Remo players were indeed not in good shape this match.

The whole match was almost devoid of threats.

But they did well defensively, granting Rome few chances.

Rome is currently also competing in the Champions League and leading their group.

Yet precisely because of this, they’re also fatigued.

They’re not much better off than San Remo.

San Remo’s exhaustion affects regular players, but Lu Yang is resilient.

Whereas for Rome, key players like Perrotta, Drake, etc., are struggling to keep up energetically.

They are older, have slow recovery, and moreover played the entire European Cup.

Finally, as the game seemed headed for a draw at zero-zero.

Lu Yang, Talista, and Morici connected, with seamless handoffs culminating in Lu Yang breaking into the penalty area with the ball.

In the ensuing seconds, Lu Yang moved agilely in the penalty area, eventually bumping into someone’s leg and falling.

The whistle blew.

Penalty!

Seeing the game time now at ninety minutes, Rome players almost collectively held their heads.

What a damn bother!

Crucially, there’s nothing to dispute about this penalty.

Three people surrounded Lu Yang to snatch the ball, someone tripping Lu Yang is quite normal.

And the Main Referee kept pointing at his eyes, meaning he saw it clearly, with no room for debate.

Finally, Ameluci and Lu Yang stood in the same place again.

The last time the two were at the goal line and penalty spot was the previous occasion.

Uh, during the Italian Cup semi-final.

That was the season San Remo’s miracle began its journey.

A little-known Italian Third Division team defeated the Serie A’s second-place Rome!

And now.

Rome.

Unbeaten in nine Serie A games!

League second!

Among the Five Major Leagues, they are one of three teams without defeat! The other being La Liga’s Real Madrid, who, like Florence, have crazily secured nine consecutive league wins!

But San Remo is no longer the San Remo of old.

San Remo, seven wins, one draw, one loss in Serie A, twenty-two points, still league fourth.

Ameluci looked at Lu Yang, he knew how Lu Yang would kick.

Ameluci has a fatal flaw in covering the extreme corner areas slightly weak.

As long as the kick is to the top two corners, Ameluci is helpless.

Almost two years ago, Lu Yang already had the ability to explosively kick to Ameluci’s blind spot.

Two years now.

Ameluci must bet once.

He would gamble everything on pre-emptive direction judgment.

Left or right.

As long as he guesses correctly, he might have a chance to block the ball from the blind spot.

”Ah!”

Ameluci shouted forward, boosting his courage.

Then, Lu Yang began to take the penalty.

Lu Yang started.

Lu Yang jogged.

Lu Yang shot!

Bang!

Ameluci flew to the right-hand side.

Two years ago, it was this position he lost.

This time, he must...

Hmm?

”Oh my God! A panenka! It’s a panenka again!”

”Ameluci dove out, he’s helpless!”

”The ball fell into the net, at this moment, we seemed to dream back to a week before.”

”Yes! Just seven days ago, Lu Yang faced Sevilla in the Champions League, scoring two panenka penalties, eliminating them! Seven days later, he again scored a panenka penalty, stealing three points from Rome!”

”Within a week, a panenka penalty hat trick! Lu Yang’s heart must not be made of flesh, but of iron! This is simply too enduring!”

”Rome performed well, especially defensively. But they eventually fell under Lu Yang’s feet. Lu Yang’s dribbling at the last moment was too surprising, without this penalty, I believe he could have directly scored.”

”And everyone knows Lu Yang’s shooting, to exaggerate, it could be described as one hundred shots, one hundred hits!”

Listening to the match commentary, Morici genuinely felt screwed.
