I AM the Football Star

Italy, seaside villa in San Remo.

”Who is this?” Lu Yang looked at Sofia, pointing next to her.

Sofia seemed to be holding someone’s hand; judging by the height, it should be a child.

”This is my daughter.” Sofia spoke.

”She looks so cute.” Lu Yang laughed, ”Do you watch baseball?”

Sofia nodded: ”I really like the Yankees.”

”Then let’s watch together later, bring your daughter along.” Lu Yang said, ”My husband is a die-hard Red Sox fan, but I still prefer the Yankees.”

”No, I think this should be changed to my husband loves the Yankees the most!” Sofia spoke up, her hand empty; it was just a role-play exercise.

She was discussing the script with Lu Yang.

”American women aren’t as independent as they are portrayed or as you think, especially those in the middle-class and upwards. They are completely dependent on men, so the wife at this point should be willing to invite me because I like her husband’s favorite team.” Sofia expressed her opinion, ”In fact, only your women are the most independent worldwide.”

”Even in the so-called backward ancient times, the female head often had dominion over all internal affairs within a large family.”

Lu Yang nodded continuously, insightful indeed, Europeans are not fooled by Americans. After all, what America is playing now is what they used to play.

Today was actually a discussion between Lu Yang and Sofia about some details of the new movie.

”So the story is about me being abandoned by a dog man during an economic downturn and struggling with my daughter to try to get a stable job.” Sofia said, ”I think the story is somewhat bland, it completely differs in style from your previous scripts.”

Lu Yang nodded: ”This script is indeed quite plain. But it deeply reflects the lives of some people in America during that period and conveys various beliefs about struggle and hope.”

”Trust me, this ’When Happiness Knocks at Your Door’ will become a significant step for you in Hollywood. From the standpoint of historical importance, this movie is higher than all the films we previously made... and way higher!”

Sofia nodded and slowly leaned toward Lu Yang.

Lu Yang instinctively felt something was wrong.

”Sofia, don’t do this, I have a match tomorrow.” Lu Yang felt a bit guilty.

Sofia was too fierce.

Who can handle this?

”Lu... after reading this script, my biggest idea is to have a child with you. Then we will raise him/her together, letting him/her grow up happily!” Sofia said, as she reached into the back of her shirt.

In the next moment, she pulled, and a pink bra came out.

Rather than a bra, it’s better said as strings of lace threads.

”Let me elevate the child for you, okay?” Sofia pounced.

”I’m not of legal age to have children!” Lu Yang appeared slightly panicked.

”That’s for later, let’s try first.” Sofia was eager.

”How to try? You know how accurate I am!”

”I just like your confidence, my dear King of Long Shots, are you ready to shoot?”

...

The amorous moments with Sofia clearly affected Lu Yang’s state.

October 22nd, San Remo faced Turin at home.

Turin, sadly poached by Florence, had lost Cortino, weakening them further.

But in this match, Lu Yang only scored two goals!

His ”sluggish” performance also held San Remo back, resulting in a mere 2-0 victory.

Talista and Morici each provided assists for Lu Yang.

After the match, Morici asked Lu Yang puzzledly: ”Why were your shots today different from usual? You seem... more agile, with a certain football intuition.”

Lu Yang chuckled bitterly: ”Because there’s no mental burden when shooting on the field. No need to worry about whether it hits or not.”

Morici frowned, then his pupils shook: ”Could it be what you’re saying!”

Lu Yang shook his head, seems like Momo is in the same boat, Momo’s girlfriend, he probably can’t handle her either.

But Morici is older, having kids at his age isn’t impossible.

Lu Yang doesn’t dislike Sofia or children; he just doesn’t want to break the law.

Once he’s of legal age, he’s eager to have several Xiaolu Yangs and Sofias, dominating World Football and global entertainment circles.

”Lu Yang, you have too much pressure.” Morici leaned on Lu Yang, speaking earnestly, ”I know that as a forward, it’s different from before. As a midfielder, or even an attacking midfielder, there’s no pressure on shooting, scoring is a bonus.”

”But as a forward, if your shots keep missing, it can create a mental burden. I’m glad to see you finally broke free today, I’m proud of you.”

”Originally, if you hadn’t said anything, I wanted to have a talk with you about this in a few days. Don’t let your position affect you, don’t have superstitious beliefs about always scoring. Even if you miss, you’re still a good forward.”

”Besides... in my heart, you’ll always be that hundred-percent-hit super striker!”

Poof!

Lu Yang spat dog blood across the screen.

I’m telling you a joke here!

Seems you haven’t comprehended the true essence of ”shooting.”

”Haha, you’re the one who always scores, idiot!” Lu Yang said sarcastically as he walked away.
