I AM the Football Star

”Oh, Lu Yang’s in the shower. He said he wants to ask for leave and go check how the Luzzy750 is selling at the LY7 flagship store in the second half.” Morici said, ”The store had already arranged a flash sale event today, Lu Yang was going to head over after the match.”

”But now, Lu Yang thinks he might as well head over early and give the fans a surprise.”

”He said he’ll come to you in person to ask for leave in a bit.”

With how measured Lu Yang is, how could he possibly not respect the Head Coach?

Freshening up his appearance before going to the Head Coach to ask to be subbed off, is there a problem with that?

Sotu was dumbfounded.

This... with the score like this now, and still eleven versus ten.

Honestly, a full rotation would be fine.

But... he had just said he wanted Inter’s higher-ups to try and ”PR” him.

Wouldn’t this make it look like he’d actually been successfully ”PR-ed” by them?

Old Tom on the side was almost laughing to tears.

Serves you right for showing off!

Let’s see how you smooth this over now!

If San Remo don’t score more than three goals in the second half, then while everyone’s bragging, they’ll definitely regretfully add, ”What a shame Sotu got PR-ed by Inter and subbed Lu Yang off. Otherwise that scoreline... could’ve been even crazier!”

...

In the second half, when the San Remo players came out of the tunnel, the whole stadium was utterly stunned.

Because Lu Yang, Morici, and Bernulin had all been subbed off.

Replacing them were Fernandez, Moriba, and Alme.

Among them, Morici and Bernulin were already on the bench, and had finished showering.

But Lu Yang... didn’t come out.

Besides personal reasons, Lu Yang’s request for leave also took Talista into consideration.

”The one who really should be in the spotlight here today is Talista, not me. He needs the attention from this match more than I do; this is very important for him.”

”If I even hog this kind of spotlight, I’m afraid Talista will transfer to Paris Saint-Germain in the winter window! I would never do something that irrational, and I don’t want to overshadow the starlight that belongs to my teammates.”

”But I know very well that as long as I don’t come off, the fans will never shift their praise from me to Talista. So, let me make a small sacrifice.”

Those were Lu Yang’s exact words.

At the time, Sotu was squeezing his boxing gloves so hard he was about to crush them, and kept saying, ”Get lost, get lost, get lost.”

In the second half, Fernandez assisted Talista to score.

Moriba assisted Delarre to score.

In the final stage, Alme beat Naji to it and scored an own goal, smashing the ball into his own net.

In the end, San Remo thrashed Inter Milan 7–1.

This was also Inter’s largest-margin defeat in the last twenty years.

The last time, they had lost 0–6 to Milan.

This time, they lost 1–7 to San Remo.

Even though both are six-goal defeats, not only did San Remo score one more this time, but even Inter’s lone goal was scored by San Remo.

So this defeat was undoubtedly even more miserable for Inter than the one twenty years ago!

Right after the match ended, Inter directly announced the dismissal of their current Head Coach, with the current assistant stepping in as interim head coach.

The first Head Coach to be sacked in this Serie A season was born!

The media all said that the one who actually sacked him was... San Remo!

Another major talking point after this match was whether Sotu had actually been ”PR-ed” by Inter’s top brass.

The mainstream opinion was... yes!

After all, Sotu is a Milan legend, and although Milan and Inter are sworn enemies, from a commercial logic perspective, with the two clubs having been so closely entangled for so many years and creating so many storylines, yes, they’re enemies, but there must also be a lot of cooperation between them.

If you naively think they never interact at all, that’s a bit too idealistic.

In this context, Sotu letting go was highly possible!

For a while, San Remo fans really did start circulating that line.

If Sotu hadn’t been PR-ed, the score of this match might have been 10–0!

The rare thing was, this line actually got widespread approval from mainstream fans!

So a 7UP isn’t thoughtful enough, only a ”ten out of ten” gift counts for Inter?
