I AM the Football Star

Lu Yang: ”No, I mean the fact that he really idolizes me. He picked a good football role model.”

The reporter was dumbfounded.

Hello, police station? There’s someone here with no shame, come arrest him!

Seeing the reporter’s disapproving expression, Lu Yang said righteously, ”Don’t think this is some trivial matter. Birds of a feather flock together, people group by kind. The Power of role models has been proven over and over since ancient times, it’s extremely important!”

”I can vouch for this: any player who idolizes me, who’s ’my type’ of player, any club can bring them in with confidence. Because regardless of their current ability, at least their professional attitude and fighting spirit are things you’ll never need to worry about.”

”Even an ordinary player, if he has my level of self‑discipline and training grit, sooner or later he’ll become better than his peers.”

”And today, Averro showed this with his actions. Even at the very end of the match, he never gave up on the belief in winning. That’s particularly crucial, and it’s exactly why I recognize him.”

”I’m his idol, but he’s earned my respect too.”

With this speech, Lu Yang basically hammered home the fact that Averro is his fanboy.

And it’s not just Averro. As long as in the future some new generation player comes out saying he likes or admires Lu Yang, Lu Yang will treat it the same way.

That way, no matter what achievements those new players rack up down the line, Lu Yang will always be an important name people bring up.

If you can’t be the God of Football or the King of Football, being the Godfather of Football and the idol of the Kings of Football is pretty good too.

Cast a wide net, claim the crown later... oof, pulled my back...

With that, all of San Remo’s matches in September came to an end.

Their first month of the new season was, you could say, pretty damn good.

There were a lot of games this month. Counting the league match at the end of August, it was six league games and two Champions League games.

San Remo: six wins, one draw, one loss.

Taking Champions League out of the equation, that’s five wins and one draw in the league, straight into the Champions League spots!

And individually, Lu Yang also put his dominance on full display in the stats.

Especially considering he missed one Champions League game and one league game due to national team duty, he still racked up ten goals and two assists across two fronts. The efficiency is just obscene!

Eight goals and two assists in Serie A—fans who’ve been watching Lu Yang play all along feel like he’s still tearing up Italian D Division, Italian Third Division, Serie B.

This is actually Serie A?

No doubt about it, with this kind of dominance, Lu Yang easily took the Serie A Player of the Month award for September.

Loaded with gold content.

Normally, this honor is announced on the second of every month.

Because the Italian Football Association needs time to collect stats and discuss.

For September, players like Ancelotti, Kolber, and Talista also performed really well.

Of course, there were also Florence’s Carrel, Rome’s Perrotta, Atlanta’s Inzitens, AC Milan’s Sogel and Andrés, Udinese’s Candreva and others whose performances were even closer to Lu Yang’s.

Even if you factor in efficiency and Champions League performances, these guys weren’t inferior to Lu Yang.

So someone suggested, how about we wait and see the games at the start of October?

October 1st, Serie A Round 7, San Remo kept sprinting along their death schedule, facing the strong Naples side that was ranked above Juventus, Lazio and the others.

Naples has plenty of stars.

There’s Lu Yang’s Italy National Team teammate Pellegrini, his former arch‑nemesis Aguirre, and Italy international right‑back Ignacio Florenzi, who missed this year’s European Cup through injury.

Florenzi in particular—missing out on the European Cup trophy might be the regret of his life.

He’s probably going to be one of the few tragic figures among that group of Italy National Team old guard who never got to wait around for the blossoming and harvesting of success.

On paper, this match was expected to be evenly matched, or even slightly in Naples’ favor.

After all, San Remo had just played a Champions League game two and a half days earlier.

But maybe they were still high from that Champions League game.

San Remo went and smashed out a 4–1 scoreline, absolutely thrashing Naples.

Over the full 90 minutes, Bai Zhami bagged a brace and was named Man of the Match.

Lu Yang had one goal and one assist, ruthless and efficient.

Talista got on the scoresheet too, the three forwards all hit their mark.

Moriba and Fernandez came off the bench and both notched assists.

Delarre continued his solid form and picked up an assist as well.

Judging by his performances since joining San Remo, this Delarre deal is shaping up to be another golden transaction for the club.

Seven league games, one goal and four assists, plus being a key orchestrator and attacking hub.

Delarre’s market value has already shot up to around 20 million. Don’t forget, he used to be a player Real Madrid wanted to groom into a homegrown superstar—his ”registered address” is naturally pricey.

If he keeps this level up, he’ll only need one season for his price tag to catch up with Morici’s.

In fact, if a La Liga club comes in for him, his fee might even surpass Morici’s!

Compared to Delarre, the other new signings can’t yet be called standout successes. We’ll see what they show us later.

With this, there was no more debate over the Serie A Player of the Month for September.

Lu Yang calmly pocketed the honor.
