I AM the Football Star

”From Rock Bottom to the Top! What Has San Remo Really Experienced?”

”A month ago, you thought San Remo was weak. Now, it’s time to introduce you to the real San Remo!”

”Two games, four goals each, still highly efficient!”

”187! Lu Yang scored his 187th career official match goal!”

”Goal machine! In less than three years, Lu Yang has blasted nearly two hundred goals. Could it be possible?”

”102! Europe’s fastest-growing assister, none other than Morici!”

”Don’t forget, Italy has the world’s most perfect defensive systems. Scoring any goal here is no easy feat!”

”Do penalty kicks count as goals? What’s so great about Lu Yang?”

”Penalty kicks certainly count as goals. If not, FIFA could completely abolish them!”

”Champions League and league double effort, group leader plus top three in the league, San Remo’s triumphant march!”

”Danger, danger, danger! San Remo, beware of the trap of multi-line combat. Don’t forget the season’s original intentions!”

San Remo causes a stir online post-match.

Compared to the league, the Champions League undoubtedly sparked more widespread discussion.

No one will ever again question San Remo’s dark horse status.

They are truly a disruptive and unstable factor.

No one, whether in the Champions League or the league, believed San Remo could achieve today’s results.

But there is one organization that has supported Lu Yang consistently for decades.

And that is... FIFA’s Best Goal Award.

Also known as the Puskás Award.

Lu Yang won the award with his overhead kick goal in the Europa League final.

Thus, Lu Yang achieved the rare feat of three consecutive Puskás Awards.

Unprecedented!

If Lu Yang’s first Puskás Award was simply because his goal was too brilliant and lacked match intensity.

Then his second Puskás Award, the goal that caused AC Milan’s rear-end collision, was both spectacular and had a certain match intensity.

But that intensity was brought by AC Milan.

The Italian Cup in essence still has a significant gap in honor level compared to top world football events.

And this year, the Europa League final.

This is one of the world’s top leagues.

Even compared to the Champions League, some deem the Europa League insignificant.

But aside from the Champions League, the Europa League can match any top honor.

This Puskás Award also gave Lu Yang a choice of an attribute that could break through to 90.

After some consideration, Lu Yang chose Dribbling.

Dribbling, therefore, jumped from 84 to 90.

The reason being, it’s time to amplify these advanced attributes.

In some football games, speed, eruption, height, and strength are more valued as ”hard” data.

While technical attributes are not valued.

But in reality, the importance of technical attributes even surpasses physical attributes.

Take speed for example.

Many players’ off-ball speed is actually top-notch.

But what they truly display on the field, is not necessarily the case.

This relates to their dribbling ability.

The stronger a player’s dribbling ability, the closer their on-ball speed is to off-ball speed.

Even many well-known speedy players in football have both fast off-ball and on-ball speeds, but their breakthrough ability and difficulty in being defended differ.

This still has a great relationship with their dribbling.

Take stride frequency, at the same speed, theoretically the player with higher stride frequency is harder to defend. Because they might touch the ball one or two more times than the player with lower stride frequency, equating to one or two more chances to dodge.

And this still relates to dribbling ability.

Stride frequency isn’t just pure stride frequency but distinguishes between on-ball and off-ball stride frequency.

Some people usually step as fast as a wind-fire wheel, but once they play soccer, as stride frequency increases, the ball easily loses control, which is due to poor dribbling skills.

Messi, who can convert off-ball stride frequency 100% to on-ball stride frequency, has an extraordinary dribbling ability.

So, although Lu Yang’s speed data panel seems already quite exceptional.

His true speed actually has a gap compared to being super exceptional.

This gap is not speed itself but results from the amplification of various other attributes.

Including a player’s ball protection ability, which apart from being related to one’s strength, also relates to ball control, dribbling, tight ball control, balance, and other attributes.

After synthesizing these, Lu Yang finally chose dribbling attributes as a breakthrough point.

But... actually, his choice also considered other important attributes.

Some even more important attributes, Lu Yang did not choose.

For example... jumping!

Lu Yang’s jumping is now at 85, as his position moves forward, the likelihood of needing this attribute in the future is increasing.

If his jumping is inadequate, it would really waste his outstanding 185 height among wingers!

Including heading, competing for the first drop point, this attribute can be said to be versatile for attack and defense, extremely useful.

But why did Lu Yang not add it?

The answer is simple.

Because Lu Yang is waiting for an opportunity to directly open the attribute to 95.

Same improvement, important attributes are prioritized to 95, other attributes to 90.

Only in this way can the benefits be maximized.

Lu Yang is smart.

When receiving the Puskás Award, Lu Yang unsurprisingly put on his Luzzy750 Sneakers, subtly enhancing the significance of these shoes.

Shoes frequently appearing in award scenes have a much different influence compared to the usual pictures of celebrities stepping out in them.
