I AM the Football Star

Chapter 242: Chapter 85: Dominating Eleven Straight Wins, Wings Clipped on the Flank (Part 3)

...

”Ding! You’ve led the team to the fifth round of the Italian Cup, and received a random gift package.”

”Ding! You have acquired a player-level skill, Manual Spin.”

Lu Yang looked at the panel, momentarily at a loss for words.

Manual Spin?

Could it be the kind of manual spin that uses the hand as a pivot to rotate in a circle?

Are you sure this isn’t a breakdancing move?

The hip-hop boy Lu Yang is about to go online, just asking if you’re afraid!

”The introduction of Belletti was simply a brilliant move! Coach Sotu’s move is too clever!” Morici hadn’t left Sofia’s home yet.

As long as Sofia doesn’t come home, Morici won’t pack up and leave.

That’s the tacit understanding between plastic sisters.

In fact, Sofia has already given Morici the right to use a small servant’s room on the first floor.

Unless Sofia comes back, Morici can stay here indefinitely to supervise, oh no... to accompany Lu Yang.

And Morici, being sensible, will only move into this room the day before Sofia comes back and the day after she leaves, so they won’t meet!

”Camihong is also quite good. Having an extra option to pass the ball is really comfortable for a player like me.” Lu Yang also appreciated San Remo’s performance during this winter window.

However, based on Fernandez’s recent performance, if he doesn’t adjust his form quickly, he might end up on the bench when Morici recovers.

By then, Versachi is likely to play in Fernandez’s position as a false right winger.

The hexagonal all-round warrior is no joke.

Anyway, the real threat on San Remo’s right side in the near future will only appear after the seventieth minute when Belletti takes the field.

”Fernandez is probably putting too much pressure on himself, he needs plenty of rest, but he doesn’t realize it.” Morici speculated.

”By the way, I heard Becher’s hasn’t transferred yet, he probably won’t leave this winter window.” Morici laughed, ”Rome only offered two million, Imolese wouldn’t be satisfied with that price.”

”Brescia and Sampdoria’s prices also didn’t match their appetite, they’re asking for four million! Can you believe it?”

”A player with only six months left on his contract, four million! Even famous Serie A stars might not be worth that much!”

The two of them chatted and laughed as they headed to the training ground, Lu Yang, as usual, further honed his technical skills under the guidance of the human coach Morici.

...

On January 26th, as the winter break gradually ended, the twenty-third round of the Italian Third Division league kicked off.

San Remo vs. Grosser.

At this time, only three days remained before the winter window closed.

But in this match, San Remo received some unfortunate news.

Fernandez, who normally played only sixty minutes, got injured in the thirtieth minute and was forced to leave the field, with Belletti coming on as a substitute ahead of schedule.

Sotu and Tom both furrowed their brows on the field, having anticipated Fernandez’s poor form, but their adjustment seemed a bit late.

Similarly, the two of them looked at Bai Zhami.

This kid... hopes he can hold on.

This injury substitution made Sotu decide that in the coming matches, he would let Versachi or other backup forwards occasionally rotate Bai Zhami, giving him time to rest.

Even if it means sacrificing some league results, it’s okay.

San Remo currently has achieved an impressive ten-game winning streak in the league.

The gap with third place is widening, and they’re even catching up to the league leaders from the first half of the season who were equally crazy.

The pressure for promotion is not great.

So ensuring players’ health and maintaining competitiveness in the cup has become the primary task.

At halftime, Sotu made a decisive change, replacing Rondo with Camihong.

On one hand, it was for Rondo’s health, and on the other hand, they hoped Camihong could bring some improvement to the team’s attack.

And the effect soon emerged.

In the twenty minutes after Belletti came on, he was very threatening, providing two threatening crosses and a rolling horizontal pass.

Unfortunately, Sogel and Lu Yang didn’t take advantage of those opportunities.

But this also made Grosser’s left side extremely alert, having to put all their effort into besieging Belletti.

In the fiftieth minute, the right winger Belletti suddenly made a large cross-field pass, sending the ball to the left-back Camihong, who was advancing from the left.

Camihong was in a great position, delivering a precise cross to the penalty area from a forty-five-degree angle.

Sogel overran the ball a little bit, but it didn’t matter as he overpowered everyone to head the ball towards the edge of the penalty area.

There, Lu Yang took a direct volley shot, and the ball went into the net!

San Remo finally took the lead!

But the good times didn’t last long, as in the seventy-eighth minute, Belletti was clearly exhausted, and his threat level quickly diminished.

The opposing players attacked behind Belletti with great ease.

When two players played the ball past Versachi, the opponent had a good shooting opportunity in the flank area.

San Remo right-back Matias, being a defensive fullback, wasn’t keen on moving forward. Coupled with his habit of relying on Fernandez’s retreat for cooperation and positioning, a huge gap appeared between Matias and Belletti.

Naji was forced to step forward to challenge.

Similarly, he was beaten by a one-two pass by the opponent.

Palacios had to follow up.

Then the opponent made a diagonal pass to the open forward, who made a slight adjustment and took a shot with an angle that left Jalard helpless.

One to one!

Grosser refused to fail!

Belletti is like a double-edged sword, in twenty minutes, he can be extremely lethal.
