I AM the Football Star

Chapter 231: Chapter 83: Some Bring Warmth in Snow, Others Add Flowers to Brocade (Part 4)

”Lu Yang, the young player, becomes Italy’s marathon man with more than three matches exceeding running distances of 15,000 meters!”

”San Remo should not be proud, as they are currently overusing their frontline players!”

”Wanting both league and cup glory, watch out for ending up empty-handed!”

”Greedy Sotu, who could ruin San Remo’s current favorable situation!”

”Wasted player! How could such a Sotu succeed Milan in the future?”

Martivini’s opponent is clearly making an effort; among media led by Republican Newspaper, they are making a big deal of San Remo’s unconventional substitutions in the last match.

They also listed some running statistics for San Remo this season so far.

To be honest, there is some truth in what they say.

In fact, this is precisely what Sotu is worried about.

Lu Yang is fine; he’s one who never tires from running.

But as for the other players, they cannot endure like this.

The feedback report from the team doctor has clearly stated that the muscles of the two wingers are in a tense state, and their playing time in upcoming matches must be controlled. Otherwise, there’s a risk of injury at any time.

Sotu began contacting clubs from Serie B and the Italian Third Division, hoping to discuss winter transfer matters with them.

But the troublesome part is, these clubs are asking for very high prices.

Almost all of them are overpricing their sales.

Undoubtedly, these people are banking on San Remo.

On one hand, everyone now knows that San Remo is not short on money.

On the other hand, everyone also knows that San Remo is determined to advance to Serie B and will not give up on the cup; they want too much and are too eager to strengthen themselves, which makes them a target for exploitation.

Lastly, San Remo is already experiencing certain fatigue issues; the urgent need gives others more opportunity to exploit them.

One week later, the nineteenth round of the Italian Third Division.

San Remo vs. Fanu.

In this match, San Remo’s frontline group performed quite well.

Bai Zhami assisted Sogel in scoring.

Fernandez assisted Lu Yang in scoring.

Lu Yang assisted Versachi in scoring.

A brilliant three-to-zero victory!

Frontline players, including Versachi, all had gains.

But all these goals occurred before the sixtieth minute.

At the sixty-fifth minute, Sotu waved his hand and substituted the frontline trio.

From then on, San Remo had no more offensive action.

In the remaining match, if not for Lu Yang putting all his effort into defense, San Remo might have conceded a goal, and possibly more than one.

This once again underscored the importance of San Remo’s frontline trio.

If Lu Yang is always the one to send help in times of need, then the frontline trio of San Remo is the one that embellishes success.

Without Lu Yang, San Remo would struggle to win.

But having only Lu Yang without the frontline trio, San Remo’s offense would be nearly zero, and they would have to rely on Lu Yang’s miracle ball.

After all, Lu Yang’s offensive strategy has been largely figured out. Rather than saying he willingly runs all over the field to support every teammate, it’s more accurate to say he needs to use his own and his teammates’ running to organize the team’s offense and create threats.

His explosive offensive power is not only built on those miracle balls but also on the running of teammates centered around him.

It can be said that San Remo’s frontline trio, ever since Morici’s injury, has been running extra miles to serve Lu Yang.

If Lu Yang possessed Morici’s ability to control and organize, the frontline trio might find things much easier.

This situation is not unique to San Remo.

Indeed, Premier League giants Liverpool also, for similar reasons, actively brought in Thiago to try to solve the problem of having only running without a midfield.

Unfortunately, their actions were a bit late. Coupled with the issue of dense matches due to the pandemic, they encountered a significant injury wave one season, making progress hard for the team.

This could perhaps be a reflection of San Remo’s second half of the season.

If they do not make strong reinforcements.

...

The next two matches further proved this point.

In the twentieth round, San Remo met their old rivals, Tulis.

Losing Diego Talista has made Tulis less sharp this season, currently ranking second last on the standings.

San Remo won four to one against Tulis.

In this match, Lu Yang scored two goals and assisted one, still the star among stars.

Sogel scored one goal and assisted one.

Bai Zhami scored a goal.

Both Fernandez and Versachi provided an assist.

It still seems like multiple players are contributing.

But this is also based on the match data before the seventy-fifth minute.

After the two wingers were substituted, San Remo’s frontline errors increased, thereby conceding a goal.

Due to the approaching winter break, the league is rushing the schedule.

Three days later, the twenty-first round kicked off.

San Remo again faced old rivals Franca Villa.

Last season, Franca Villa ranked first for a while, later falling because their frontline core suffered from injuries, eventually missing the playoffs.

However, their frontline players returned in the last match, defeating direct rival Bisceglie and keeping them in the Italian D League.

And they did not miss the opportunity in the playoffs, defeating their opponents and successfully being promoted to the Third Division.

Of course, Franca Villa is also relatively struggling in the Italian Third Division, currently ranked fifth last, with their main goal this season being to avoid relegation.

In this match, Bai Zhami and Fernandez both had cramps in the first half, which is extremely rare.

After substituting them, San Remo was scored against by the opponent, falling into a backward position.

Until the eightieth minute, Lu Yang and Sogel both exerted effort simultaneously, executing a series of passes in the center.

Sogel, like an attacking midfielder, provided Lu Yang with a comfortable assist.

In turn, Lu Yang, like a good pivot center forward, used the Bengbu Spin to pass the ball to Sogel, assisting him in scoring.

Both players had a goal and an assist, clinching victory against the opponent.

Thus, San Remo has only one match left before the winter break!

Their frontline issues have finally been verified by the media, officially brought to light!

San Remo’s athletic team fears it may fall into a crisis of fatigue and injuries!
