I AM the Football Star

Chapter 241: Chapter 85: Dominating Eleven Straight Wins, Wings Clipped on the Flank (Part 2)

His threat on the field has soared, absolutely impossible to ignore.

Fernandez watched the experienced Belletti from the bench, with an indescribable feeling in his heart.

”Kid, you need to pay attention, you and Belletti are the same kind of players, you should pose the threat that he does!” Tom came over to comfort Fernandez. ”Learn his style of play, seek his advice, Belletti is not a difficult player to get along with.”

”Of course, you don’t need to be jealous of Belletti either. This is the experience he has summarized from more than ten years of his football career. If you can absorb it within one or two years in the future, it’s already quite remarkable. Sotu is willing to wait for you, do you understand?”

Fernandez looked at Tom, his eyes reddening.

”Moreover, your condition today isn’t very good. I will carefully consider your physical condition and decide your playing time going forward. You need to cooperate with the team’s arrangements and stop practicing extra on your own, understood!” Tom said, ”Not everyone is an ironman, you need rest, you can’t use Lu Yang as your benchmark because you are not the same type of person, he is a freak, and you are normal.”

Fernandez nodded, half understandingly.

On the field, the second half of overtime began, and Belletti’s threat gradually diminished.

He changed his style of play, no longer focusing on fancy breakthrough attempts, but switching to concise one-touch passing.

At the same time, his movement was not as active as before.

Lu Yang could feel that Belletti was conserving his own energy.

His shockingly short stamina bar only allowed him about twenty minutes of prime performance.

He was destined to only serve as San Remo’s super sub in the second half, unable to shoulder the responsibility of a starter.

So Lu Yang proactively shifted the offensive focus from the right to the left.

This level of overall vision, his ”Lu Liqi” still possessed.

Bang bang!

Bang bang!

As soon as Lu Yang moved to the left, he encountered the other side’s desperate pressing.

Venice didn’t want to lose either.

This was already the fourth round.

Even though the prize money was low, if they got to the fifth round, it was likely they’d face Serie A teams, and the ticket sales alone would be a boon. Not to mention their head coach needed a decent result to secure his job.

However, after Lu Yang came to the left, he and sub left-back Camihong executed two consecutive wall passes, smoothly and incredibly.

Lu Yang purely played subconsciously, he hadn’t had much time to observe Camihong.

But to succeed in two consecutive wall passes, if it wasn’t due to tacit understanding, it was because one party had observed the other’s playing habits.

Obviously, Camihong paid close attention to the team’s core, Lu Yang.

He knew Lu Yang liked to make a one-touch pass after receiving the ball and then turn and continue to run.

This style of player really doesn’t resemble a midfielder core.

But Lu Yang played just this way.

After two wall passes, Lu Yang found a clear path ahead for Camihong, handed the ball to Camihong, and rushed to the center, drawing away the opposing defensive midfielder.

Bai Zhami also began an off-the-ball inward cut.

The opposing right-back, out of desperation, had to leave Camihong and choose to follow Bai Zhami.

Letting go of the wing instead of the center, this is a choice many full-backs have to make, especially before their midfield comes back.

Bang!

Camihong didn’t hesitate, delivering a bottom cross.

Still, it was Lu Yang, charging to the near post, glancing the ball backward.

Everyone’s first jump in the box came up empty.

But Sogel displayed youthful vigor.

After running for nearly a hundred and twenty minutes, he quickly followed up and headed Lu Yang’s glanced ball into the goal.

”Roar!”

Sogel shouted excitedly, pounding his chest incessantly.

Around the stadium, the fans erupted in a frenzy of celebration.

”It’s in, it’s in again! Sogel has killed the game!”

”Lu Yang’s back header was too sudden, no one expected him to do it! Except Sogel!”

”This is the sort of tacit understanding that belongs to San Remo!”

”Of course, we have to say that a third of the credit for this goal goes to San Remo’s new addition, Camihong. His wall passes with Lu Yang even reminded me of Lu Yang and Morici’s ping pong dribbles.”

”His bottom cross demonstrated his exceptional technique. I have a hunch that Camihong’s joining might bring new changes to San Remo’s left side!”

”All along, San Remo’s dual wingers flying in synergy with Lu Yang already showed immense power. So what if their full-backs join in to truly make both wings fly?”

”It’s really something to look forward to!”

”Without a doubt, we can already announce early on, San Remo’s signings this season have been a success!”

”Of course, I know there are still many fans anticipating heavy signings during San Remo’s winter window, such as Rome’s Aguirre, Imolese’s Becher’s, or River Plate’s genius forward, Maximiliano Ferreira.”

”But I must tell everyone, even without them, San Remo is already formidable enough!”

”Let us congratulate San Remo in advance for advancing to the fifth round of the Italian Cup, setting a new record!”

In less than five minutes, with two goals’ difference, Venice knew they had no chance left.

After exhausting all the time, the players of Venice left the field regretfully.

Their Italian Cup journey was declared over.

Meanwhile, on San Remo’s side, it was a scene of gongs and drums, firecrackers celebrating.
