I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

The meteors obscuring the sky fell with thick black smoke.

Aiselas, the Green Dragon caught in the meteor’s trajectory, was already trapped between life and death.

Despite the distance, it still felt a palpitating fear.

”It will die!”

Time seemed to stand still for Aiselas, its mind frantically seeking a solution.

Its dragon scales and Magic Protection were clearly unable to withstand this attack descending from the sky.

Furthermore, it couldn’t use Spatial Magic to leave this place, as the sword-profession woman had completely disrupted the surrounding area of a few hundred meters with a spatial slash, creating a temporary no-magic zone.

The Level 9 spell Vengeance Storm that it mastered was an offensive spell, only usable for attacking, not defending.

Though it could utilize the Level 8 Anti-Magic Field.

Theoretically, this spell could create a spherical anti-magic energy around it, causing any spells within the field to fail, nullifying summoned creatures and Magic Items.

But like most spells closely tied to the caster, this one was no exception, the Anti-Magic Field likely could not withstand the Meteor Burst.

The enemy this time was the famed Kingdom’s Grand Mage Eli Carlos, with a Professional Level of 19.

At such a level, even as a true dragon, it had to admit to being inferior.

Moreover, this time the spell cast by the King’s hand wasn’t a simple Level 9 spell, as it was imbued with a special prayer by an 18-level Archpriest and supported by a 17-level sword-profession.

There was every reason to believe this coordinated attack would be no less powerful than a direct assault by a Level 20 epic mage.

Every Level 20 professional, when no legend steps forth, is a super strong being, nearly a miracle on earth.

Judging in an instant that all its strength couldn’t block this world-ending Meteor Burst, it then searched its bloodline inheritance for a survival technique.

Bloodline Curse?

Unsure if it would work, even if it did, its corpse would probably be cold.

Burning more than half of its blood essence to cast an unprecedented super spell to forcefully counter the Meteor Burst might be feasible, but even if the slim chance succeeded, it would only delay for a moment.

Afterward, its strength would rapidly decline, it didn’t believe these human strongmen would show it mercy.

Rebirth Spell? No, it would likely be detected too. Human mages would sense the anomaly at the soul level.

....

Plots unfolded in its mind, only to be immediately erased.

In the face of absolute power, many seemingly clever tricks lost their meaning.

Even if it could escape from here, the human strongmen, with their vast experience, would recognize that it wasn’t truly dead.

They would pursue it quickly and then kill it while it was weak.

It hoped to find a path to life, rather than delaying death momentarily, and still in an unbearably pitiful state.

If nothing else works, then it would have to...

Its thoughts couldn’t help but drift towards a great being.

Mother of the Five-Colored Dragons, Tiamat.

Although she couldn’t intervene directly in the battle, as a deity with weak divine power on the surface but extremely strong, if she was willing to pay a sufficient price, she could likely rescue it.

But what price would it have to pay?

If reduced to a puppet of her descent, what difference would there be from death?

Even if it didn’t come to that, it would likely lose significant control over its body, though that might barely be acceptable.

In any case, it was better than dying here.

Its heart fell into intense struggle.

Some knowledge in its bloodline inheritance was telling it that becoming a puppet for Tiamat’s descent was a path more terrifying than death.

As it searched for a path to life, the blazing meteor in the sky approached with great speed.

The pitch-black meteor carried with it a destructive force, solidifying and fracturing the space around it as it passed.

”Thud! Thud! Thud!”

The Green Dragon Queen Aiselas could hear her own heartbeat quickening uncontrollably.

In the depths of its pupils, the size of the meteor rapidly expanded.

Just as it was in despair, about to use spiritual power to communicate with Tiamat, another thought suddenly popped into its mind.

”Dilla! Aren’t you going to act?”

”What good does it do you for me to die here!!”

Its mental intent roared, spreading out in all directions.

On the distant battlefield, the first wave of demons approaching the city walls had already engaged in close combat with humans.

Both demons and humans heard the voice of the Green Dragon Queen Aiselas, and since it was a direct mental intent, all creatures could directly understand the meaning within the voice.

”Dilla? Who is that?”

Confusion was the first thing that appeared in their minds.

They didn’t know where the voice came from, nor did they understand the target of the voice’s accusation.

Only Matthias Monroe, the president engaged in battle with the Corrupted Dragon Bats, felt a brief confusion in his mind, vaguely recognizing a familiar name.

The four human epic strongmen in the sky naturally heard the voice simultaneously.

Different expressions appeared on their faces.

The Weaver Erich Xavier’s face showed a sullen expression.
