I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

Gauss’s gaze shifted to the Blue Dragon; its Magic was indeed no simple thing, able to affect him even in this state.

It showed just how exceptional the Blue Dragon’s Talent really was.

But fortunately, he was no simple opponent either. He was different from most Casters—his anti‑interference Attributes were maxed out.

With the Professional Specialty [Advanced Spell Mastery], his Casting effects became more stable; add on two buffed states that already provided a degree of all‑around defense. On top of that, he also possessed three other Professional Specialties: [Magic Resistance], [Master of Stable Spellcasting], and [Cannon Mage].

All things considered, interrupting his Casting was actually quite difficult.

Gauss hovering in midair wasn’t him pretending to be some expert; he was doing it to maximize the effect of his Spells.

His tactic was: after ambushing one Green Dragon, he’d lock onto a single target and beat it to death, rapidly thinning the dragon flock’s numbers.

This was also a strategy often adopted in one‑versus‑many situations where one’s own side was outnumbered.

Seeing its Magic fail to achieve the desired effect, the Blue Dragon’s forward charge through the air suddenly froze.

It felt as though its Magic had been flung onto a slab of stone—aside from that instant of feedback at contact, everything afterward vanished like a stone sinking into the sea.

What in the hell was this monster?

At this moment, it no longer believed Gauss was a Silver Dragon or a Golden Dragon.

The other’s aura was very different from the Metal Dragons preserved in its Dragon Blood inheritance memories.

So now, it was a little afraid.

It abandoned the idea of closing in for melee and helping the rotting‑milk Green Dragon out of its bind.

Its wings spread wide, and its figure soared upward in a spiral.

The closer it got to the sky overhead, the more the Blue Dragon Detected an intense resistance.

It was that invisible barrier blocking its path.

The Blue Dragon quickly judged that it wouldn’t be able to escape in a short period of time.

However, this attempt had only been a probe; with its escape route cut off, fierceness welled up in the Blue Dragon’s heart.

Since the enemy wanted to put it to death, then in its fury it would at least tear off a chunk of flesh from the other side.

True Dragons were proud in their very essence.

”Boom!”

Within the area trapped by the Silent Birdcage, the originally clear sky suddenly turned stormy.

Deep black clouds churned wildly, faint lightning flickering within, clearly brewing some terrible offensive.

Gauss glanced up at the sky overhead, then cast a look to his rear flank.

Unlike the Blue Dragon, which had the sense to realize it shouldn’t engage Gauss in close‑quarters combat, the other female Green Dragon that had originally charged alongside it did not react nearly as quickly.

It shot toward Gauss’s position like a cannonball.

One of its dragon claws lit up with an emerald glow.

At the same time, down below Gauss, countless plants burst out of the ground.

”Squelch! Squelch!”

The earth heaved and rolled like the surface of the sea.

Vines thicker than a man’s waist surged crazily upward as if they’d gone mad.

Hundreds of vines and trees rose like a calamity of raging serpents, all lunging upward, their focal point in the very center of the air—Gauss.

On top of that was the female Green Dragon charging across with her physical body; all of the offensive seemed poised to completely encircle Gauss.

”Magic Missile!”

Gauss caught a glimpse of the commotion below from the corner of his eye, his face still as calm as a placid lake.

The fingers of his other hand—the left, which held no Magic Wand—spread open, black‑and‑white Ghost Energy curling around the slender tips. After a brief preparation, Gauss pressed his left hand down through the air.

The air below seemed to freeze in that instant.

The next second, that sense of stagnation vanished abruptly.

”Boom boom boom boom boom!!!”

Countless Magic Missiles gushed out from Gauss’s left palm at a terrifying speed like a Gatling gun.

The overlapping roar of that high‑speed barrage sounded exceptionally deep, almost like a Dragon’s Roar.

Countless Magic Missiles poured down like a rainstorm, each one wrapped in interwoven black‑and‑white Ghost Energy, carving dense trails through the air.

The green tide and the rain of Missiles collided in midair, unleashing a deafening thunderclap in an instant.

Sphere‑shaped blue Magic shockwaves blossomed beneath Gauss like fireworks, scattered yet layered.

Vines were blasted to pieces the moment they touched the Missiles, wood chips and sap spraying in all directions.

Gauss’s Dragon Roar Missiles were far denser than the Nature Magic the Green Dragon wielded.

Those serpent‑like green plants were cut clean in half by the Missiles before they could even fully surge up.

Facing the female Green Dragon bearing down from above with ever-increasing pressure, Gauss’s left hand, which had been hovering loosely, flipped over and then clenched hard.

Mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind; behind the Green Dragon, another silver giant hand was condensing at extreme speed.

”Bigby’s Hand! Duet!”

The reason Gauss dared to confidently judge that, with the Dragon and Ghost Contract, he now wielded Level 13 combat strength, lay in this exquisitely precise spell control.

The Green Dragon, whose gaze had been locked tightly onto Gauss, suddenly felt a chill along its back.

A terrifying wind pressure surged from behind it.

But before it could further react—

that pair of giant hands clamped down on it just as they had on the first juvenile Green Dragon.

Maintaining two enhanced 5th-circle spells at the same time is actually quite difficult.

Especially the split-second Casting just now—it was far harder than it looked.

A high-grade creature like a Green Dragon is not some roadside goblin; even though Gauss caught it off guard, the window for his strike was still fleeting.

A beat too fast, and the Green Dragon would have spotted the second Bigby’s Hand in advance and flown away to evade.

A beat too slow, and with its extreme speed the Green Dragon could have reacted and gotten out of the Magic’s attack range.

Fortunately, the process went smoothly enough.

Gauss hovered in mid-air, his two giant hands to left and right each gripping a Green Dragon prisoner.

Especially the first Giant Dragon, which at this moment was already on its last breath.

Great quantities of Dragon Blood had dyed the originally silvery Bigby’s Hand a glaring, bloody red.

Its dragon tendons were severed inch by inch, the muscles inside its body had all ruptured, its bones were displaced or broken everywhere; only a single heart still kept stubbornly beating.

The light in the Green Dragon’s pupils was growing gradually dim.

Suddenly.

With a ”boom!”

A thunderous roar came from within the Green Dragon’s blood-soaked body.

The next instant, the body that had been tensed to resist dozens to hundreds of tons of crushing force abruptly slackened, collapsing into a lump of soft flesh.

A juvenile Green Dragon—an individual destined to become a powerhouse someday as long as it survived—ended its life in a manner bordering on humiliation.

Prompts flashed before Gauss’s eyes.

”Kill Extraordinary Creatures Green Dragon (juvenile) *1”

A trace of satisfaction flashed in Gauss’s eyes.

Strictly speaking in terms of Level, the four Giant Dragons present, in his Perception, should all still be short of formally stepping into the Extraordinary Tier.

It’s just that their bloodline is too noble, allowing them to leap past a bottleneck that is almost unbreakable for humans.

This Green Dragon’s combat strength had already crossed the Extraordinary threshold, and in survivability it was far superior to most Level 11 Extraordinary individuals.

It died somewhat stifled—without any intel on Gauss, it was suppressed by his surprise-attack Bigby’s Hand.

The strengths and weaknesses of Bigby’s Hand are both obvious.

Its sustained suppression is extremely strong, but once it forms, its movement speed is relatively slow for its massive size, giving highly mobile enemies room to react.

The best method is to catch them off guard, combine it with Any Door’s effect, and control the enemy shortly after condensing it.

For a juvenile Green Dragon to hold out this long under the pressure of an enhanced Bigby’s Hand is already something to be proud of.

Gauss right now was, by his own assessment, at Level 13 combat strength.

”Extraordinary Path: Kill 5 types of Extraordinary Level Demons (2/5). Reward: Randomly draw one Racial Talent from an Extraordinary Level Demon.”

”Because you killed a Legendary Race creature True Dragon. Reward obtained: Title[True Dragon Slayer].”

”Purple-quality Racial Talent[Dragonkind]is absorbing Dragon Blood energy...”

”Absorbing Dragon Blood energy...”

”...”

Gauss, who had been slightly fatigued, felt a strong, powerful hot blood surging wildly inside him.

It was like soaking in a hot spring; a wondrous sensation flooded his entire body.

Because of this, he kept the Bigby’s Hand clamped around the already dead first juvenile Green Dragon.

He could feel his Racial Talent[Dragonkind]absorbing part of the Power from the slain Dragon Corpse, rapidly strengthening itself as though refining it.

”Roar!!!”

The other Giant Dragons, seeing the Green Dragon’s death, had shock and unease flash through their pupils.

They prided themselves on being highborn; seeing a companion die right before their eyes, even though they had already realized Gauss’s might, the impact was still incredibly fierce.
