I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

This mastery speed further convinced Gauss that its magic talent was truly exceptional.

If flame magic was a gift from the red dragon bloodline, then the other types of magic were a reflection of its own comprehensive magic talent.

After mastering the Greasy Skill, Hephaestus can also learn more types of magic.

The 1st Ring Fluent in Language is almost a must-learn, which can help the enlightened Hephaestus master more languages, such as the common human language, allowing it to communicate with others, rather than relying solely on exchanges with Gauss who also masters dragon language.

Feather Fall Technique, Shielding Skill, and Mage Armor are all learnable.

The Feather Fall Technique can prevent injuries from unexpected falls if its flying ability fails, and defensive magic can make Hephaestus safer, even though the dragon’s body is iconicly tough-skinned. More defense is always welcome.

Front row shielding only makes it even stronger.

As for the mental burden of learning other high-level magic later on, it will be time then to choose to forget some magic.

Moreover, Hephaestus’s burden probably won’t come early.

Because true dragons can learn a lot of magic, especially those individuals who are passionate about casting, the number of magic mastered is almost several times that of average human casters.

However, many true dragons tend not to learn too many types of magic due to their innate abilities, inherited magic, and strong physical strength.

In the eyes of many proud five-colored dragons, many magics are just icing on the cake. Studying arduously might not be as efficient as sleeping, only needing a few inherited core magic from the bloodline.

In terms of magical prowess, metal dragons like golden dragons and silver dragons are generally much stronger than five-colored dragons, with a more diverse magic system.

And human records on battling giant dragons also recognize that metal dragons are generally perceived to be superior to the five-colored dragons who rely more heavily on innate abilities, undoubtedly attributing some of this excellence to magic.

Gauss hoped to cultivate Red Dragon Hephaestus into a well-rounded five-colored dragon proficient in magic, and fortunately, it has this talent.

It will transcend from dragon beast to dragon, surpassing its five-colored dragon companions.

Over the next two days, the Red Dragon Team continued sweeping through nearby monster nests.

Under Gauss’s guidance, Hephaestus mastered Fluent in Language, Feather Fall Technique, Shielding Skill, Mage Armor, and Cloud Mist Skill.

Mastering more types of magic made it more comprehensive.

Hephaestus also utilized the effect of Fluent in Language to rapidly learn the common human language. However, its demeanor lacked enthusiasm, even though it mastered parts of the common human language, it seldom interacted with others in the Red Dragon Team, especially having little desire to converse with anyone but Aaliyah and a few others.

Compared to human language, it still preferred to privately converse with Gauss in dragon language.

Gauss speculated that Hephaestus might enjoy the secrecy of dragon language, as others wouldn’t understand, especially since dragon language is a higher-level language, almost no magic can decipher it.

Dragons are proud creatures, perhaps it didn’t want anyone to overhear its conversations with Gauss, which occasionally included many teachings and guidance from Gauss as a mentor, coupled with moments of Hephaestus’s playful charm, making it somewhat embarrassing for the dragon.

With this understanding, Gauss continued to communicate in dragon language to preserve its pride.

Of course, Hephaestus probably wouldn’t expect that some of its ”vulnerable” behaviors have been also keenly noted by a slime, imperceptible to the naked human eye, whispering a few times into Gauss’s ear.
