I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

It speculated that the Maze should be like a sieve-like space hidden within the layers of the main dimension of the world.

This space has existed for a long time, and it occasionally spontaneously absorbs some Demons or valuable objects inside, much like a device executing a pre-set command.

When talking about being trapped in the Maze, Eden didn’t sound too resentful; instead, Gauss even detected a hint of relief.

On closer thought, strictly speaking, Eden being sucked into the Maze and having time suspended might not be a bad thing.

If time had normally continued until now, it most likely would have already lost that part of human consciousness and spirituality, completely influenced and even driven by the instincts belonging to Demons.

Just like how patients with uncurable diseases in Gauss’s past life would choose to undergo cryonic sleep voluntarily.

Gauss continued his conversation with Eden as they moved forward.

The fifth level truly wasn’t small in area.

Even with Eden personally leading the way, it still took quite a while to reach its lair.

Of course, if Gauss had traveled alone, he would likely have saved a lot of time.

But he considered that there were many Mushroom People’s nests nearby, and it would be a perfect opportunity to train the members of the Red Dragon Team and Hephaestus, who just mastered Magic, while also allowing himself a bit of a lazy break, so he didn’t rush.

Arriving at Eden’s lair, there were no guards nearby.

It presented a scene of complete abandonment.

”Those Mushroom People guardians you mentioned seem to have all run away; could they have taken your treasure and fled?” Gauss joked.

Actually, even if they took the treasure and ran away, he wasn’t worried at all; at most, he would deal with both the creatures and the treasure together.

”Don’t worry, I’ve set a restrictive Array at the entrance of my lair, those Mushroom People can’t get in on their own.” Eden’s voice sounded confident. ”Do you want to try?”

Its application of Magic Power was quite skilled.

The entrance was sealed by a sturdy dark blue Magic Array, and the rock wall behind it was attached with equally solid energy. In other words, even if bypassing the entrance, tunneling through the mountain from another place couldn’t penetrate into its lair.

Moreover, the surrounding mountain seemed to be specially reinforced with Magic Power.

Gauss activated the ”Dragon” bloodline, and shortly, the Energy Dragon Claw with a dragon scale pattern appeared on his right arm with a grip of his fist.

”Boom!”

He unleashed brute force, striking a fierce punch on the sapphire-like magical seal.

The powerful impact force abruptly released from the tip of his Dragon Claw.

Visibly white shock waves sprayed out in all directions from the hit location.

”Bang!”

Cracks extending several meters appeared on the ground beneath his feet.

This strike was sufficient to destroy a city wall, but it only left a crack on the magical seal, seemingly slightly damaged, while the rest of the area continuously surged with Magic Power to mend the impact’s damage, soon restoring it to its original state.

Gauss wasn’t surprised by the poor effect of his attack.

This wasn’t because Eden’s strength or Magic Power skill surpassed him; rather its Array was a Magic system polished over weeks or even months, requiring a significant amount of time, effort, and Magic Power investment.

Unless his strength could completely overwhelm Eden, dismantling its Array in a few hits was impossible.

Seeing that Gauss, whom it acknowledged, couldn’t easily break the magical seal, Eden silently breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing Gauss still eager, it quickly interrupted.

”Step forward, I have left a password for access and exit.”

The password Eden mentioned was a spell effect of Magic Power fluctuations, which Gauss easily mimicked with his Magic Power after communicating with it.

The next moment, the magical seal, originally able to withstand substantial attacks, silently dissolved before Gauss’s eyes, leaving a passage wide enough for one person to enter.

Gauss walked inside.

”Your home is quite ordinary, but it’s cleaner than I imagined.” Gauss continued communicating with Eden through the mental channel.

”What do you take me for? Besides, like my body as King of Slime, it wouldn’t expel waste like low-tier Slimes.” Eden hurriedly retorted.

”And actually, low-tier Slimes wouldn’t either; they just can’t digest certain things, so they expel the indigestible parts from their body, along with the stench-laden digestive fluids, which make it look like they’re expelling waste.”

Eden offered some friendly science.

Although it turned into a Demon, it was even cleaner than most humans.

It hoped Gauss wouldn’t have any unnecessary misunderstandings.
