I Am Not A Goblin Slayer

”This is a power that only the extraordinary strong can master!”

There are no extraordinary level strong persons present, but that doesn’t mean they are completely ignorant about levels above their own strength.

The terrifying battle at the center of the battlefield, if they, as leaders, were caught up in it, they would likely suffer severe injuries or even end up in life-threatening situations in an extremely short time.

”I think we’d better not go over there.”

The high-level members of the adventure group originally contemplated providing some auxiliary support from the sidelines and then shamelessly claiming some of the battle spoils, but their hearts started pounding.

Adventurers, as a group, can be quite varied, but there is never a shortage of courage.

However, courage cannot be equated to recklessness.

This level of combat has already completely surpassed the level they can intervene in.

”But, why is it so strong? This is only the 5th level of the Timbel Maze?”

At this moment, they are like bronze players thrown into a match meant for champions, their little heads filled with great confusion.

Or rather, if not for the presence of the freakish Gauss, this exploration journey in Timbel Maze would have been a path leading to death for some of them.

Without Gauss, how would they resist that terrifying creature at the center of the battlefield?

Facing reality, some couldn’t help but feel afraid.

At the center of the battlefield, the Slime splits that absorbed a massive amount of magic power began to cool down, and their attacks gradually slowed.

It’s a biological entity after all, and although it’s highly magic-infused, it still suffers from bodily limitations.

As the brambles dispersed, Gauss himself, protected by Bigby’s Hand, was unharmed.

That extremely sharp attack broke through the first layer of Bigby’s Hand’s protective palm defense, pierced through the energy dragon scale, and finally was resisted by the moonlight magic robe and Gauss’s skin.

Gauss revealed a satisfied smile; this time he was also testing his own capabilities, and if he noticed anything amiss, he would immediately use Any Door to escape.

Multiple layers of protection were enough to buy him a fraction of a second of casting preparation time.

But the final result seemed to show that Gauss’s Shield was sturdier compared to the Slime’s Spear.

”Dawn!”

”Dawn!”

”...”

Gauss didn’t delay the battle opportunity, seizing the tired state of the Slime splits after a wave of attacks, he immediately released several Dawns to engulf them.

This time, they were already spent, plus there was no time for them to absorb excessive energy from natural magic to recover, or they might have reached some limit, after all, several clones ultimately completely vanished in the brilliant light of the Dawns.

The only regret for Gauss was that the slaying of splits did not trigger a kill notification from the Monster Atlas.

It seems to have identified the Slime Lord as a single entity, which instantly extinguished Gauss’s budding unrealistic idea.

However, slaying the Slime splits was not a meaningless action; he could feel the main Slime’s aura in the distance had weakened significantly.

Its strength comes with certain costs.

”Human, are you going to kill me?” Slime sent out another message.

”I think so.”

Although Gauss admired the Slime’s talent, he originally came to slay the maze’s demon creatures, so naturally he wouldn’t hesitate to strike.

The only thing that made him feel somewhat awkward was, he seemed to faintly sense a hint of excitement from the Slime’s plain voice?

Could being killed be something worth being thrilled about?
