Chapter 448: Chapter 34: Arena Carnival

Su Changxing looked at the corpse on the ground and frowned slightly: ”Not very strong, just a Tier Nine Extraordinary. Is this person from the Black Fog World?”

He could use ”True Knowledge” to judge the strength of the person from the corpse. It was odd. Previously, the weakest he’d seen was also a Tier Eight Extraordinary, but now there appeared a Tier Nine one.

”What does Black Fog World want to do, or what are they doing?”

Su Changxing pondered, suddenly hesitated, turned to look at T3, and questioned, ”Aren’t you not supposed to kill humans? Why did you kill him directly.”

T3 said mechanically: ”He is not a pure human, so he doesn’t count as a human by definition.”

Upon closer inspection, the corpse had some irregular pale yellow scales on its neck, which would be difficult to see if not observed carefully.

Su Changxing dug out the Extraordinary Crystal from his body, stood up, and said: ”Well, if you encounter such people again, don’t kill them. I need to interrogate them.”

”Alright, sir,” T3 replied.

Previously, these robots all operated in the highest alert mode, directly killing any threats they encountered.

The Reconnaissance Robot rose in the sky, expanding its surveillance range, and soon locked onto another person with chains on them.

Su Changxing immediately dashed in that direction, holding a scythe, his whole body wrapped in a dark green cloak, his figure becoming a blur.

The distance between them was not too far, only four blocks away. That person did not notice Su Changxing at first, only seeing the massive T3, seemingly puzzled about where this thing came from.

[Altered Human: Tier Nine, a twisted human body, consequently endowed with some special abilities, possessing stronger life force.]

”What are you looking at?”

Su Changxing quietly appeared behind him, and his scythe swung down, cutting off an arm with chains in the air.

The opponent was like a fierce beast; even after having an arm severed, he immediately launched a fierce counterattack, thrusting a blade towards Su Changxing.

Su Changxing deflected the blade with his scythe and kicked him heavily to the ground, saying: ”If you don’t want to die, it’s best not to move recklessly.”

The gap in strength between them was apparent.

Hearing this, the person indeed did not move again, sizing up Su Changxing with both surprise and regret.

After allowing him a moment to calm down, Su Changxing asked, ”Who are you people?”

The man curled his lips into a smile: ”To encounter such things is quite interesting. Haha, I am merely a slave.”

Su Changxing frowned slightly and said: ”Slave? Explain clearly, why are you slaughtering here, what is your purpose?”

”Haven’t you realized? It’s for nothing. We are the slaves; you are the prey. This is a massive gladiator arena; hunting you is merely part of the game rules.” He had a mocking expression as he spoke, getting up from the ground and fleeing backward.

”Zzzz~”

Several lasers pierced through his body, instantly evaporating his flesh and blood.

Su Changxing looked up to the sky, sensing a gaze upon him. If this is a gladiator arena, there must be an audience.

Are others watching everything happening now?

He felt chills down his spine, as if people from their world were treated like crickets in a jar for amusement,

Perhaps this is the revelry of certain people from the Black Fog World.

”So, does this mean there are many such gladiatorial slaves, and they are competing for the number of kills?”

Su Changxing contemplated, seemingly understanding why those people in the hotel basement managed to escape unscathed. These gladiatorial slaves did not ignore them, but rather considered it a waste of time.

Indeed, any game has its rules and corresponding strategies.

”Therefore, this should be one of their starting points. The strong gladiatorial slaves would leave first after killing most people to go to a new place, and those left are actually just small fry.”

Su Changxing felt the situation was terrible. These people would definitely move into the city, a disastrous calamity for the people in West Bridge.

Things were unanticipated, a tangled mess.

He decided to enter West Bridge City immediately, at least to get Shen Jinxuan out of this quagmire.

······

In a massive underground venue, countless people cheered and shouted, some dressed splendidly, others disheveled, of all ages, men and women.

The white mist in the venue showed countless scenes of battle and slaughter. On a nearby wall, a large electronic scoreboard displayed the number of kills by the slaves, their life status, and total points.

”First, first, first!”

”Bro, we might make a big profit this time, how about that? My information is correct, right? This newcomer was captured from a world on the verge of destruction. We suffered considerable losses on our side because of him, showing his prowess.”

A brown-haired man, holding a red wine glass, laughed heartily, his face full of excitement.

Sitting across from him, another man, with long hair and a short shirt, also embraced a slender woman, yet his expression was exceptionally calm, saying:

”Manager Lan, the variables in death matches are vast. Although this is a low-level world, there are still capable individuals... Besides, I heard rumors lately of underhanded tactics during matches.”

The brown-haired man put down his wine glass, full of confidence: ”Don’t worry. This time the organizers decided to rectify the atmosphere. If anyone dares to reach out, their hand will be cut off. At least no one dares to blatantly do so.”

He stretched his neck, pointing upward, and lowered his voice, saying: ”This time, it’s not just about profits, but also about power. We’re betting, and so are those above.”

The man in the short shirt took a red pill from his pocket and swallowed it, nodding:

”It seems the major lords have disagreements... Manager Lan, I have some official business to attend to, so I’ll take my leave. Haha, I’ll leave my portion to you.”

”Haha, no problem, sharing fortune is my consistent principle.”

······

Su Changxing continued along the highway, facing almost no obstacles, as the monsters had been cleared by others previously.

They quickly entered the city, and intense gunfire could be heard from afar. From the images sent by the Reconnaissance Robot, hundreds of soldiers were engaged in a battle with a gladiatorial slave.

Bullets poured down like rain but were completely evaded by the gladiator slave. Missiles shot out from between his hands like iron sheets, causing heavy casualties amongst the soldiers.

His scarred face showed a smile of excitement. Such armed targets were worth the points of dozens of ordinary people.

”Hand grenade, hand grenade!”

”Fire from both sides, block his escape routes.”

”Ah!!”

”Spread out, find cover.”

······

The soldiers finally responded, beginning to spread out, find cover, and launch a counterattack. But the opponent’s speed was too fast and agile, extremely difficult to hit.
