Global Game: I Have Portable Store

Chapter 415: Chapter 1: The Present World and the Truth

The leaves outside the window were still in the wind, and the time at the corner of the computer stopped at 7:30.

The body couldn’t move, only consciousness was still active.

The wind felt very warm.

Su Changxing suddenly awoke from the darkness, his expression changed from wooden to surprised, then to incredulous, his blood-stained hand wrapped in dust left a dirty handprint on the clean, gray desktop.

”Am I dreaming?”

”Not really.”

”Am I back?”

He checked his belongings: the backpack, pistol, revolver, pendant, and the phone in his pocket were all still there.

At least this proved he wasn’t dreaming before, but as for whether he was dreaming now, it was hard to determine.

In the instant he saw the truth of the Hongyue, he thought he was dead for sure, but after his consciousness recovered, he actually returned to the original world.

”Does it mean the task was completed, so we returned to the original world? If that’s the case, I’m afraid not many survived.”

Su Changxing thought, opened his phone, but found the forum was in a closed state, and the phone appeared to be disconnected from the internet.

Apart from the Attribute Panel, only the discount store could be opened, but the discount store retained the last items, and the refresh time had been extended from two days to twenty days, a tenfold increase.

Noisy sounds came from outside, reminding him that before the Doomsday Game started, there were people making trouble on the street, and many people were watching.

Su Changxing stood up, leaving black, bloody footprints on the floor, walked to the window sill, and saw a dense crowd of people gathered on the distant street.

”All people, just people.”

He felt both familiar and strange to this scene, taking a deep breath.

”What’s going on? Why are these people still alive, is something wrong? From their appearance, it seems they are completely unaware, and they all look clean, not like people who have been in that world.”

Su Changxing furrowed his brows, unable to figure out the current situation; things were unexpected, and just as he turned to leave, he keenly noticed someone below staring at him in shock.

When Su Changxing looked at him, he seemed startled and immediately turned to leave along the small path of the community.

”What happened?”

Su Changxing was somewhat puzzled, then looked at the glass of the window and realized his face was covered in dried blood.

”...Maybe it’s a bit scary.”

He wiped his face, thinking that with his appearance, he was indeed frightening to ordinary people who haven’t experienced the apocalypse.

Afterward, he took a shower, cleaned up his original clothes, and also cleaned the marks on the table and floor.

Su Changxing lay on the bed to rest, staring at the white ceiling in a daze, his eyes appeared more profound in the dim environment.

He once again felt the existence of ”Timing Prediction,” as the changes in the world he was in had undergone significant changes.

[Timing Prediction: Has a ten percent probability of foreseeing the scene one second later, a five percent probability of foreseeing the scene two seconds later, a one percent probability of foreseeing the scene three seconds later.

Note: This ability is extremely dangerous.]

”Other abilities haven’t changed much, but this stolen ability is indeed quite special, somewhat too abnormal, it can accurately predict events that will happen in the future.”

Su Changxing sat up from the bed, took a can of cola from the refrigerator, about to open it for a drink when he heard a knocking on the door.

”Knock knock knock~”

The knocking was neither light nor heavy.

Su Changxing sharply sensed there were seven or eight people standing outside, all ordinary people, at most just physically strong.

What are they here for?

Opening the door, there were two somewhat nervous-looking police officers.

Su Changxing feigned surprise, ”Officers... is there something I can help with?”

Seeing Su Changxing, they visibly breathed a sigh of relief. One of the officers, who was slim and older, spoke earnestly:

”I’m Ye Chen, we received a report just now that someone saw a person covered in blood at your window, we need to come in and check... here’s our search warrant.”

Su Changxing immediately thought it was the person from earlier who reported this, which was understandable, though the police’s response seemed a bit quick.

He looked at the search warrant and said, ”Alright, come in. I suppose that person who reported it was mistaken. I live alone here, there’s no one else.”

Ye Chen nodded, and he and another officer walked in, but four or five officers standing outside didn’t have any intention to come in.

Su Changxing leaned his head out, looked at them, and smiled, ”Come in together, have some water?”

One of the younger officers’ mouth corner twitched visibly, forcing a smile, ”No, it’s fine. If there’s nothing, we’ll be leaving soon.”

They seemed in a hurry, not specifically coming here, just checking along the way.

”Officer Ye, has something peculiar happened? You all seem very tense,” Su Changxing asked casually.

Ye Chen glanced around, now relaxed, thinking there was nothing suspicious about Su Changxing, and replied with a smile:

”It’s nothing, just a lot of strange things happened today.”

Su Changxing asked with a curious look, ”Strange things?”

Ye Chen’s expression was a bit unnatural, speaking in a deep voice:

”Yes, well, just some inexplicable occurrences, you all should be careful too, feel free to call the police if anything happens.”

”Alright, no problem,” Su Changxing chuckled.

Ye Chen and the other officer took a quick look around the room, thinking it was probably a false alarm, and soon left.

”Slam~”

The door was closed.

Su Changxing fell into contemplation, realizing these were just normal humans without any abnormalities, and he indeed returned from the Doomsday World.

”So, those alive are the ones who returned from the Doomsday World, and those dead retained their appearance and memories from before the Doomsday Game started, continuing to live.”

He boldly speculated, frowning again, muttering to himself: ”But is this still the same person? Died yet not dead, or perhaps...”

At that moment, darkness fell outside, the city’s neon lights illuminated the sky, completely different from the Doomsday World, filled with vitality under the lights.

”So, are they still alive?”

Su Changxing felt he should find someone who might have survived, to see if the situation was as he speculated, though the people he knew in the present world probably didn’t survive.

This was definitely not so simple; the Doomsday Game seemed to have opened Pandora’s box for their world.

Moreover, according to the description of the head, not many people indeed survived initially, so what caused such a difference?

Most frighteningly, he could confirm the current reality only because of the discount store, which seemed unaffected by the Doomsday Game’s external factors.

He could confirm he was still his original self now, not another self with rebuilt memories after death.
