Chapter 425: Chapter 11: Trap

A clear pressure of wind swept through, and the dense gunfire on the street suddenly ceased. The armed personnel in the process of evacuating were stunned.

The octopus-like monster collapsed in front of the Joker.

It only took a single shot.

They could still see the brilliant trail of bullets suspended in the shadows.

Ye Chen’s pupils suddenly enlarged; he witnessed the most bizarre and incredible event of his life and instinctively felt that the Joker was more terrifying than the monster.

The firearm in his hand was already beyond the ordinary definition of a gun.

”He’s... still human, right?”

Ye Chen muttered to himself with a solemn expression.

Su Changxing glanced indifferently at the corpse on the ground before turning around and swaggering away, paying no heed to the armed personnel gradually approaching.

Nothing here could threaten him.

Seeing him approach, many police officers involuntarily stepped back two paces; this oddly dressed person seemed equally abnormal.

Ye Chen didn’t consider much, he ran up and asked, ”What was that thing? How did you take it down in one go?”

Su Changxing placed a hand on his shoulder, laughing aloud, ”Haha, take a guess.”

As if it was something quite amusing.

Ye Chen straightened his face, and with a serious expression said:

”Please tell me, so if something like this happens again, we have a way to deal with it without so many fatalities. This incident directly or indirectly led to the death of hundreds.”

Is it a lot of people?

Su Changxing didn’t think so, considering in the Doomsday World, deaths were counted in billions.

Yet he never underestimated or ignored life.

But he couldn’t cover every detail, as the Monk said, ”Humans can’t save all beings, only Buddha can, but there’s no Buddha in this world.”

”Officer Ye, it’s the apocalypse, an unstoppable apocalypse. More and more will die in the future,” Su Changxing said loudly as he walked forward with his arm on his shoulder.

People around could hear him.

Apocalyptic theories flourished online; if one person spoke, no one believed, but what if many spoke convincingly?

Ye Chen, with a blank expression, recalled the events of recent days, only reacting after Su Changxing left: ”He knew my name, have we met before?”

But he couldn’t think of anyone related to this Joker.

Su Changxing left the scene in large strides, without facing any obstruction, returning to the previous residential area, removing his mask in the woods.

”This mask is somewhat strange; it greatly influences my actions, but conversely, it completely hides some of my inherent behavioral habits.”

Everyone has intuitive behaviors, so disguise or change of attire always carries the risk of exposure.

Just then.

A person in a black coat, hands in pockets, hooded passed by, giving Su Changxing a side glance.

It was him!

Su Changxing was certain this was the murderer.

He actually returned to the scene, clearly aware the police had withdrawn earlier.

”But what’s he back for?”

Su Changxing followed quietly, seeing the murderer re-enter the previous house.

Normally, a murderer would flee after a kill, yet he returned.

Jiang Wei crouched near the opposite window, seeing this scene, smiled: ”He really did return.”

Based on her judgment, the murderer was familiar with this house, so after investigating, found out that this house belonged to another family two years ago and due to some incident had to be used to pay off debts.

Shoes trampled on the wooden floor, producing a dull sound echoing through the corridor.

”Things should be underneath this.”

The murderer walked straight to the utility room, picking up a dusty hoe and proceeded to the kitchen.

”Ridiculous, the twists of events are always dramatic; no one expected today’s outcome.”

He said to himself, smashing the hoe into the kitchen tiles, piercing them, revealing hard cement.

Simultaneously.

Su Changxing noticed a group coming from the opposite house, surrounding them; they had no Extraordinary but were all armed with guns.

This was a trap.

Jiang Wei had anticipated the murderer would return.

The murderer glanced outside the door, frowned, sensing someone approaching but didn’t stop, striking the floor at a faster pace.

Su Changxing quietly crouched outside the opposite wall, observing the situation inside, curious about what would prompt an Extraordinary to risk returning for retrieval.

”Bang~”

The door was kicked open.

Jiang Wei rushed in with over twenty armed personnel, seeing the murderer holding a rust-covered Broken Sword standing in the kitchen, a large pit four or five meters deep on the ground.

Neither side acted immediately, entering a standoff.

Jiang Wei looked at him, coldly said: ”Zhao Changwen, in this world random killings are not permissible, this is a place with rules.”

The murderer smiled faintly, saying:

”Hmm? So you’re also someone returned from the apocalypse? Wouldn’t revenge be justified? My parents were harmed by him, killing him isn’t excessive, isn’t excessive.”

Jiang Wei stared at him, expressionless, slowly said:

”You now have two choices, first we arrest you or kill you lawfully, second you join us.”

The murderer looked at the Broken Sword, said: ”So you are police?”

Jiang Wei nodded: ”Sort of.”

”Sort of?”

The murderer hesitated, said with doubt.

He was somewhat wary of the guns in Jiang Wei and others’ hands; the space was cramped, with so many barrels pointing at him, dodging would be difficult.

Jiang Wei showed coldness, sensing the opponent was intentionally delaying, said: ”So you’ve made your decision?”

The murderer pretended to be afraid, yet smiled, said:

”Wait, I haven’t said I wouldn’t join you, plus from the apocalypse, when one dies, it’s one less, what you’re doing may not be appropriate.”

His face suddenly turned fierce, shouted:

”What are you mortals thinking, wanting me to obey you? I’m an Extraordinary.”

He charged at Jiang Wei and others, becoming blurred, crashing through several people, waving the hoe and smashing open a person’s head.

Jiang Wei retreated aside, fired several shots at Zhao Changwen, one bullet hitting his abdomen, yet no blood was seen.

Zhao Changwen didn’t pause due to the shot, took a few steps forward, swung the hoe again towards Jiang Wei.

Jiang Wei stood by the window, finally smiling: ”Seems victory is certain, Extraordinary.”

She didn’t believe that, in the current world, these Extraordinary could be so powerful, able to withstand gunfire and artillery?

”Bang~”

The glass shattered, a large-caliber round shot towards Zhao Changwen.

Zhao Changwen’s pupils narrowed, seeing a dark gun muzzle from the rooftop opposite.

Immediately, he was hit by the bullet, fell to the ground, sliding back, as a gush of blood burst from his abdomen.
