Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 34: NZNT: Chapter 34

The duel between Anko and Itachi ended with Itachi’s complete victory. After releasing Anko from the branch, Anko immediately charged towards Itachi with a defiant look, wanting to redeem herself.

Itachi didn’t panic. He activated his Sharingan again, bringing his right hand’s two fingers together in front of his chest in a hand seal position.

”Tsukuyomi.”

”Tsukuyomi” was a genjutsu that Itachi had mastered. It required the Sharingan to activate and could control the target’s mind, making them return to a deeply ingrained memory, trapping them in an illusion they couldn’t escape.

Of course, the illusion created by this technique could be a scene from the target’s past happy memories or a scene from some bad memories.

In the eyes of Yusuke and Kurenai Yūhi, Anko, who had been rushing towards Itachi, stopped in her tracks.

But in Anko’s perception, she suddenly saw a flash of light in front of her, and she was hung back on the branch.

”What’s going on? I’m already down, aren’t I?”

Anko, who found herself hanging on the branch again, was completely dumbfounded. She didn’t understand what was going on.

At this time, Kurenai Yūhi, seeing that Anko was under control, formed hand seals.

”Release!”

As her voice fell, Anko saw a flash of light in front of her and returned to reality.

At this time, Anko also knew that she had been caught in Itachi’s genjutsu. She had been controlled by Itachi twice, and she was too embarrassed to continue fighting Itachi.

Her face flushed, and she snorted, ”You little brat, you’re still pretty good. I’ll concede this round.”

Itachi replied politely, ”Anko-senpai, you’re too kind.”

After Itachi finished speaking, he looked at Kurenai Yūhi, who was standing beside him, and said, ”Kurenai-senpai, you’re really good at genjutsu. You were able to break my ’Tsukuyomi’ so quickly.”

He was very confident in his genjutsu. In Itachi’s view, his ”Tsukuyomi” could only be broken by a Chunin who was proficient in genjutsu.

Kurenai Yūhi still spoke in a stammer, ”I just know a little bit of genjutsu. My taijutsu and ninjutsu are very ordinary. I’ll need your guidance in the future.”

After Anko and Itachi’s sparring, and Kurenai Yūhi’s ability to break Itachi’s genjutsu, everyone had a general understanding of each other’s strengths.

Yusuke offered some suggestions for their future training. After leading the three of them through some team cooperation training, he announced that they were dismissed.

They were going to Sunagakure the day after tomorrow. Yusuke didn’t want his team members to be exhausted from overtraining, so he gave them a day to rest and adjust themselves.

Returning to the clan’s headquarters, Yusuke also began to prepare. He actually harbored other thoughts about this mission to Sunagakure.

After sealing the Nine-Tailed Fox’s Yin Release chakra and using it to fight Shisui, Yusuke confirmed that the amount of Yin Release chakra had a great impact on his strength. He also had the idea of taking the Yin Release chakra of other Tailed Beasts.

This mission to Sunagakure to participate in the Chunin Exams as a guiding Jonin gave Yusuke an opportunity to come into contact with Shukaku!

Since the death of the first jinchūriki of Sunagakure, Shukaku had been sealed by Sunagakure in the Shukaku’s Gourd.

However, after Shukaku, Sunagakure had repeatedly had other ninjas try to become jinchūriki, but none of them could withstand Shukaku’s violent personality. They all went crazy and died.

When the last jinchūriki died, Shukaku seized the opportunity, broke free from the seal, and escaped to the Nara Desert near Sunagakure.

Because there was no suitable candidate to become a jinchūriki, the Third Kazekage and the Fourth Kazekage didn’t rush to waste their strength to capture Shukaku again.

But Yusuke knew that as Gaara gradually grew up, the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, would have the idea of making Gaara a jinchūriki. He would then go to the Nara Desert to find Shukaku, and he would capture and seal it in the Shukaku’s Gourd with his own strength.

Although Shukaku’s chakra amount was far less than that of the Nine-Tailed Fox, it was still a Tailed Beast. Its power level should be on par with the Nine-Tailed Fox. After all, during the Nine-Tailed Fox Rampage, the Third Hokage was almost helpless in the face of the rampaging Nine-Tailed Fox. He could only rely on Minato and Kushina to save the day.

From this point of view, the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, was actually very strong. Although he was assassinated by Orochimaru in the original story, there must have been an unknown process behind it.

Yusuke prepared all the scrolls he needed for various sealing jutsu. He activated his Sharingan and entered the state of inner vision.

In the state of inner vision, time in the outside world was only an instant. But during this process, Yusuke would constantly consume dojutsu power. When his dojutsu power was depleted, even if Yusuke wanted to stay in the mental world, he would be forced to leave the inner vision state.

He arrived again at the misty land in his mental world. Ryujin Jakka, his Zanpakuto, was still standing between heaven and earth, enveloped in raging flames. The giant Sharingan in the sky moved its gaze as Yusuke’s gaze moved, and the Nine-Tailed Fox was lying on the ground, battered and bruised, completely still.

”Wait a minute? Something’s wrong. Why is the Nine-Tailed Fox battered and bruised? And why is it so submissive?”

Yusuke couldn’t help but wonder.

Seeing Yusuke walking towards him, the Nine-Tailed Fox suddenly screamed in terror, as if a battered wife, ”Ah! Don’t come any closer. I know I was wrong!”

Yusuke only had a big question mark in his mind. He didn’t know why the Nine-Tailed Fox was so afraid of him.

”Nine-Tailed Fox, what’s wrong with you? Why are you battered and bruised?” Yusuke asked.

The Nine-Tailed Fox slowly backed away, shouting, ”Didn’t you do this to me? You don’t want to do it again, do you?”

”Please, spare me!”

Looking at the trembling Nine-Tailed Fox, Yusuke was completely confused. He didn’t know why he had made the Nine-Tailed Fox so scared. He also had no idea where the Nine-Tailed Fox’s injuries came from.

”Tell me what happened. Otherwise, I’ll make you experience it again,” Yusuke said calmly, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

Although he didn’t know exactly what had happened, in order to find out the truth, Yusuke could only pretend he knew and threaten it.

Hearing Yusuke’s threat, the Nine-Tailed Fox immediately trembled. It had no choice but to tell him the story again.

But at this time, the Nine-Tailed Fox thought that Yusuke was a complete pervert. He had beaten him up and now he was making him recount the story. The Nine-Tailed Fox had fallen to such a state. It was simply outrageous!

After hearing the Nine-Tailed Fox’s story, Yusuke frowned and thought.

According to the Nine-Tailed Fox, he had been to the mental world not long ago. And at that time, because the Nine-Tailed Fox had contradicted him twice, he had beaten it up badly. It had even left injuries on its spiritual body. It was truly unbelievable.

”Could it be...”

Yusuke turned to look at the Zanpakuto standing in the mental world. He tried to call out, ”Ryujin Jakka, is that you?”

As Yusuke called out, a figure slowly walked out of the raging flames. Although he couldn’t see his specific appearance, the figure’s eyes were like two sharp blades of light, piercing through the layers of flames.

As he was swept by this sharp, domineering gaze, Yusuke felt his breath catch in his throat. It was as if he was facing an invincible opponent.

Seeing this figure, the Nine-Tailed Fox immediately backed away, screaming in terror, ”It’s him, it’s him, it’s him!”

”It’s those eyes! No wonder I felt something was wrong when I saw you just now. Although you look exactly the same, your eyes are completely different!”

As the Nine-Tailed Fox’s voice fell, the figure walked out of the flames completely. It was a person who looked exactly like Yusuke, wearing the same clothes.

But through their eyes, you could see the difference between this person and Yusuke. Yusuke’s eyes were calm as water, while this person’s eyes were full of sharpness and domineering.

”Yes, it’s me!”

Ryujin Jakka stared at Yusuke. Yusuke felt an unprecedented pressure coming at him. His entire body felt like it was sinking into a quagmire. He even found it difficult to speak.

”Is this Reiatsu?” Yusuke asked with difficulty.

Ryujin Jakka retracted his Reiatsu and said slowly, ”You’re still somewhat capable. You weren’t so intimidated by my Reiatsu that you couldn’t even speak.”

”But you’re still far from reaching the level I approve of!”

Hearing Ryujin Jakka’s words, Yusuke frowned.

He also knew that he hadn’t unleashed Ryujin Jakka’s power, but he still hadn’t found a clue to training Ryujin Jakka’s power.

Although he had thought of using the Tailed Beast’s Yin Release chakra to activate Ryujin Jakka, Yusuke also vaguely sensed that this wasn’t the right path.

”The owners of Zanpakuto are called Shinigami, and Shinigami all use spiritual power to fight.”

”As long as your spiritual power is strong enough, any technique will have incredible power, not to mention my flames.”

As Ryujin Jakka spoke, two katanas that looked exactly like his Zanpakuto appeared in his hands. He threw one to Yusuke.

”Pay attention,” Ryujin Jakka reminded him.

Guessing that he was going to fight him to teach him how to use his Zanpakuto, Yusuke also became wary, ready to deal with his moves.

Ryujin Jakka held the scabbard in his left hand and the hilt in his right hand. He assumed a stance as if he were about to draw his sword.

”Fūjin!” A glint flashed in Ryujin Jakka’s eyes. His sword was drawn at an incredible speed.

Yusuke saw a flash of light in front of him. He immediately raised his katana to block. At this time, Ryujin Jakka had already sheathed his sword and was standing behind Yusuke.

With a clang, the katana in Yusuke’s hand broke in two. The section with the tip fell to the ground.

Yusuke stared blankly at the half-blade in his hand, experiencing the brief exchange just now.

”Was it because of Reiatsu? I could feel the sharp Reiatsu on your blade. It seemed impossible to resist,” Yusuke turned to Ryujin Jakka and asked.

”Yes, that’s the difference in quality between my Reiatsu and yours. Although you’re using the soul power of the Tailed Beasts in this world to activate your Zanpakuto.”

”But that’s just a quantitative supplement. Even if you collect ten Tailed Beasts, a hundred Tailed Beasts, the quality of your soul power won’t change!”

”But if your soul quality is strong enough, you can even suppress your opponent’s soul with Reiatsu, or even erase their soul.”

Ryujin Jakka said slowly.

”Then how can I improve the quality of my soul power?” Yusuke asked.
