Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 22: NZNT: Chapter 22

A grim voice rang out. The speaker was Danzō, who had colluded with Obito and arrived at the Uchiha clan’s headquarters.

Behind Danzō were a large number of Root ninjas.

”Danzō-sama, what do you mean? We, the Uchiha clan, are Konoha’s police force. We have the responsibility to defend the village. Why are you stopping us? What are you trying to do?” Uchiha Fugaku stepped forward from the crowd and asked Danzō.

”Up until now, only Uchiha Madara has been able to control the Nine-Tailed Fox with the Sharingan. Now, the Nine-Tailed Fox has suddenly appeared in the village. It could be a huge conspiracy, and it could be connected to the entire Uchiha clan. Therefore, the Uchiha clan must stay here tonight. No one is allowed to leave!” Danzō said coldly.

Hearing Danzō’s words, the other Uchiha clan ninjas present were all furious. People started to express their dissatisfaction, and some even began to curse.

Uchiha Fugaku raised his hand, signaling for the clan members to be quiet. Then he asked Danzō, ”So, regarding your actions, Danzō-sama, do the Third and Fourth Hokage agree?”

”The Fourth Hokage is not in the village now. The Third Hokage has agreed to my actions,” Danzō replied.

Hearing this, Fugaku frowned and remained silent. He hadn’t expected that even the Third Hokage would be so wary of the Uchiha clan.

Not far behind Fugaku, Yusuke thought to himself, ”Could this be the truth behind the original story? Why didn’t the Uchiha clan ninjas and the Root ninjas appear during the Nine-Tailed Fox Rampage?”

In Yusuke’s view, the Third Hokage still valued the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, very much. He had not only promoted Minato but had also fully assisted him in consolidating his position after Minato took office.

”Maybe the Third Hokage didn’t expect Minato to fall in this battle. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have let Root and the Uchiha clan stay here, wasting so much combat power.”

Yusuke, who was determined to obtain the Nine-Tailed Fox’s chakra, wasn’t going to heed Danzō’s restriction order. He found an opportunity to use a Fire Release clone, leaving the clone to stay and pretend to be busy while his real body secretly rushed to the location of the Nine-Tailed Fox.

However, since the restriction order against the Uchiha clan had already been issued, Yusuke could no longer appear in battle under his real identity. He had to put on a white cloak and a ghost mask, hide near the Nine-Tailed Fox, and wait for the right moment.

At this time, many Konoha ninjas were already fighting the Nine-Tailed Fox. But because the Nine-Tailed Fox’s chakra and vitality were too strong, the attacks of these ordinary ninjas had almost no effect. Instead, many ninjas died in vain under the Nine-Tailed Fox’s claws. ℴ

Annoyed by the Konoha ninjas’ attacks, the Nine-Tailed Fox opened its mouth and unleashed a Tailed Beast Ball, destroying many buildings along the way. The Tailed Beast Ball’s final target was the Hokage Rock on the mountain wall outside the village.

At this moment, a giant sealing jutsu inscription appeared in front of the Hokage Rock. The Tailed Beast Ball entered the sealing jutsu inscription and completely disappeared, causing no damage to the Hokage Rock.

One second later, a giant ball of light rose up in the distance. Someone had used a space-time jutsu to move the Tailed Beast Ball to a huge lake far from Konoha Village.

The one who performed this space-time jutsu was the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, who had just arrived in the village!

Looking at the undamaged Hokage Rock, the Third Hokage, who was still rushing towards the Nine-Tailed Fox, breathed a sigh of relief, ”Minato, you’re a trustworthy person!”

After dealing with the Tailed Beast Ball, Minato was about to head to the location of the Nine-Tailed Fox in the village when he suddenly felt a spatial fluctuation behind him. He immediately turned around and attacked with a kunai.

However, to his surprise, his kunai passed right through the enemy’s head. The one who had attacked him was the mysterious person wearing a mask and a black cloak from earlier tonight.

”I’m your opponent. And...” At this time, Minato’s kunai had completely passed through Obito’s head. Obito immediately canceled his intangible state and grabbed Minato’s wrist.

”It’s over!”

Obito immediately activated Kamui, preparing to suck Minato into the Kamui space. At this critical moment, Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique in time, teleporting to a location where he had pre-placed a Flying Thunder God kunai.

”He’s gone. He’s quick on his feet,” Obito said slowly. He also used his spatial transfer ability to follow Minato to his location.

With a thud, Minato, who hadn’t had time to adjust his posture after teleporting in a hurry, fell hard onto the grass.

Quickly getting up, Minato’s brain rapidly analyzed the enemy’s abilities. However, before he could fully figure it out, a space vortex opened up in front of him, and the enemy had already arrived.

”He’s good at space-time jutsu too. He’s not easy to deal with,” Minato frowned, looking at Obito in front of him.

At this time, Minato noticed the Sharingan that the enemy had revealed through his mask. He thought about the enemy’s ability to control the Nine-Tailed Fox and asked tentatively, ”In the past, Uchiha Madara could control the Nine-Tailed Fox with the Sharingan. But he can’t be alive now. Who are you?”

”Who am I? Who knows?”

”Then what’s your purpose in attacking Konoha?”

”Purpose?” Obito paused, took out a long iron chain from his cloak, and there was a hook at each end of the chain. Obito shook the chain in his hand and fixed the hooks to his wrists.

”My purpose is peace in the ninja world!”

Before he finished speaking, Obito quickly charged towards Minato, and the long iron chain formed a loop behind him. This loop of chain was a trap used to capture enemies behind him when they passed by.

Seeing Obito launch an attack, Minato immediately counterattacked, holding a specially made Flying Thunder God kunai and facing the enemy.

As expected, his kunai passed right through the enemy’s body. Physical attacks couldn’t harm the enemy who was in a different space-time.

After Minato passed through Obito’s intangible body, Obito immediately canceled his intangible state, and the loop formed by the chain behind him instantly blocked Minato behind him!

But before Obito could activate Kamui, Minato used the Body Flicker Technique in time to escape the chain’s entanglement.

Although it was only one round, combining this with some details from his previous encounter with Obito, Minato, a tactical genius, had roughly analyzed Obito’s abilities and weaknesses. He already had a plan to deal with Obito.

With the plan in place, Minato didn’t hesitate. He quickly turned around, charged towards Obito again, and threw his Flying Thunder God kunai towards the enemy when he was at the right distance.

The Flying Thunder God kunai gradually passed through Obito’s head, which was intangible. At this moment, Obito and Minato were less than two feet apart.

Minato formed a Rasengan in his right hand and struck towards Obito. Obito, however, was one step ahead. As soon as the Flying Thunder God kunai completely passed through his head, his right hand touched Minato’s left shoulder first.

”I win!” Obito canceled his intangible state and immediately activated Kamui, preparing to drag Minato into it.

Just when Obito thought he had the upper hand, Minato suddenly disappeared. In that instant, Minato used the Flying Thunder God Technique twice, appearing at the location of the Flying Thunder God kunai behind Obito.

”Damn it!” Obito exclaimed in surprise.

With a loud bang, Minato’s Rasengan mercilessly slammed down on Obito below. Obito, who wasn’t intangible, was immediately severely injured. He was hit hard and slammed into the ground. At the same time, the ground shattered and debris flew everywhere because of the powerful impact of the Rasengan, kicking up a large cloud of dust.

What Obito didn’t know was that Minato had also left a Flying Thunder God Technique seal on his back when he hit him.

The dust slowly settled, revealing a circular pit about four or five meters in radius on the ground. Obito used the Body Flicker Technique to appear on a nearby mound. The side of his body that had been hit by the Rasengan was covered in white, viscous substance that slowly dripped from his cloak. His left hand also fell to the ground.

”As expected of the Yellow Flash. He’s truly...”

Before Obito could finish his sentence, Minato instantly appeared in front of him, using the Flying Thunder God Technique seal he had left on Obito.

Obito couldn’t react fast enough to keep up with Minato’s speed. Minato’s kunai pierced his chest. In that moment of collision, Obito saw that his once gentle teacher’s eyes were filled with a resolute killing intent.

At the same time, Minato pressed his left hand against Obito’s chest, and a circle of inscriptions appeared on Obito’s chest.

”Contract Seal! You plan to break my contract with the Nine-Tailed Fox?” Obito said grimly.

”That way, the Nine-Tailed Fox will no longer be yours!” Minato said coldly.

At the same time, the Sharingan mark in the Nine-Tailed Fox’s eyes, which was still rampaging in Konoha Village, disappeared, and its eyes returned to their fox pupils.

The Nine-Tailed Fox, freed from Obito’s Sharingan control, became even more enraged. It raised its head and let out a terrifying roar towards the sky!

”Everyone run! The Nine-Tailed Fox is going crazy!”

”No! We can’t hurt the Nine-Tailed Fox. We’ll just be dying in vain if we keep going!”

The villagers and ordinary shinobi near the Nine-Tailed Fox frantically fled in the opposite direction. The enraged Nine-Tailed Fox worked even harder to destroy buildings and hunt down any living beings it could find. At this time, Iruka’s parents sacrificed themselves to protect Iruka.

Just then, the Third Hokage finally arrived with the Hokage’s personal ANBU squad. The ANBU squad immediately stepped forward to engage the Nine-Tailed Fox, holding it off and buying time for the Third Hokage.

”Summoning Jutsu: Monkey King Enma!”

The Third Hokage summoned Enma, who immediately transformed into a golden staff. The Third Hokage grabbed the staff, chose a direction closest to the village border, aimed at the Nine-Tailed Fox, and suddenly activated the ”Kongo Jōyū” technique.

”Extend, Enma!”

The golden staff in the Third Hokage’s hand instantly grew to over a thousand meters long, pushing the Nine-Tailed Fox out of the village. But because the Nine-Tailed Fox was so large, pushing it out of the village also destroyed many buildings along the way, leaving a path of ruins over a thousand meters long.

Looking at the Nine-Tailed Fox, which was still enraged, the Third Hokage felt a pang of anxiety.

”Minato, where are you?”
