Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 27: NZNT: Chapter 27

”Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!”

After the duel officially began, Shisui quickly formed hand seals and used the Great Fireball Technique to tactically block Yusuke.

”Flame Release: Flame Return.”

Yusuke also formed hand seals and countered with a jutsu. It was as if a whale was sucking in water. All the Great Fireballs that Shisui had spewed from his mouth were absorbed into the hand seal in Yusuke’s hand.

Then Yusuke also opened his mouth and spewed a giant, golden-red fireball towards Shisui.

This golden-red fireball was larger than the Great Fireball that Shisui had used, and it was clearly hotter. The part that touched the ground even burned the surface to ashes and caused it to sink.

Shisui could see that Yusuke’s Flame Release was not easy to withstand. He immediately retreated backwards and jumped high into the air, dodging Yusuke’s counterattack.

”Fire Release: Hyakuretsu Kage Bushin.”

In mid-air, Shisui simultaneously shot out dozens of kunai, wrapped in flames and spinning at high speed, towards Yusuke.

But Shisui’s Hyakuretsu Kage Bushin wasn’t that simple. He formed hand seals again and used genjutsu to multiply the number of kunai, which were originally dozens, by several times. Moreover, it was impossible to tell which were real and which were fake.

Facing the countless kunai wrapped in flames, Yusuke knew that the best way to deal with it was to use an AOE attack to solve it all at once. He quickly formed hand seals and used another Flame Release jutsu that no one had seen before.

”Flame Release: Fūjin.”

A giant, crimson whirlwind formed in front of Yusuke and blew towards Shisui and the kunai he had shot out. All the kunai that came into contact with this crimson whirlwind were sucked into it, while the ones that weren’t sucked in were naturally the kunai clones created by Shisui’s genjutsu. They had no substance or attack power.

Seeing Yusuke’s jutsu, the ninjas in the stands were all amazed by his mastery of ninjutsu.

”I didn’t expect Uchiha Yusuke to be so good at ninjutsu. And it seems like he’s mastered Flame Release,” Asuma said in astonishment.

”Yes, his control over fire-element chakra is already superb. I don’t know how he managed to change the chakra nature to Flame Release. In the early days, he was always a ninjutsu-type ninja.”

”It was only when he fought against Kurosuki Raiga, one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, on the battlefield that he first used that kind of swordsmanship that controlled flames. After that battle, his reputation as ’Flame Sword’ gradually spread.” The speaker was Genma Shiranui. He had been on the same team as Yusuke during the Third Great Ninja War.

”Is there a Kurosuki Raiga in the Seven Ninja Swordsmen? I thought all the members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen had names that included a fruit or nut?” At this moment, Might Guy raised a sharp question.

Hearing Guy’s question, everyone was stunned. They hadn’t expected Guy to be focusing on this.

Kakashi rubbed his forehead, helplessly shaking his head.

Meanwhile, on the training ground, Shisui’s body was already caught in the crimson whirlwind that Yusuke had created. The audience immediately gasped in surprise.

But the one caught in the whirlwind wasn’t Shisui’s real body. Shisui had already used the Body Flicker Technique to appear behind Yusuke. At the same time, he drew the katana on his back and swung it towards Yusuke’s back.

Yusuke keenly sensed Shisui’s movements. He immediately turned around, and a magnificent katana appeared in his hand. He blocked Shisui’s attack. This katana was Ryujin Jakka, which hadn’t yet been released.

The two swords clashed, and Yusuke and Shisui locked eyes. Shisui’s eyes were filled with determination and a desire for victory, while Yusuke’s eyes were calm and indifferent.

Shisui swung his katana violently, using the impact of the clash between the two swords to retreat backwards.

”Uchiha Style: Kenzan En!”

Flames rose from the katana in Shisui’s hand, forming a blade of fire that slashed towards Yusuke.

Yusuke was slightly stunned. This was the first time someone had tried to cut him with a flaming sword. He dodged Shisui’s flaming slash to the side, and Yusuke immediately released his Zanpakuto.

”All things, all phenomena, are turned to ash.”

As soon as Yusuke released Ryujin Jakka, Shisui suddenly formed a hand seal with his left hand and disappeared.

Yusuke immediately turned around and faced Shisui, who was using swordsmanship.

”Uchiha Style: Kazekiri.”

Shisui’s katana swung rapidly, and four even larger flaming slashes charged towards Yusuke. But although it was called ”Kazekiri,” Yusuke didn’t see any connection between this move and wind.

The corners of Yusuke’s lips curled up slightly. He didn’t believe that Shisui’s flaming slashes could defeat Ryujin Jakka, even Ryujin Jakka, which hadn’t fully unleashed its power!

Yusuke gently swung Ryujin Jakka horizontally. A crimson blade of fire flashed, and Shisui’s four flaming slashes all vanished.

”As expected, the nickname ’Flame Sword’ is well-deserved. It seems like Shisui of the Uchiha clan is no match for Uchiha Yusuke when it comes to playing with fire on a sword,” Asuma laughed from the sidelines. The other ninjas around him nodded in agreement.

”But Uchiha Shisui isn’t known for his Fire Release. His nickname is ’Shisui of the Body Flicker.’ It seems like their duel hasn’t reached a critical moment yet,” Kurenai analyzed.

Seeing Kurenai, who rarely offered her opinion, speak, Asuma immediately nodded in agreement, ”You’re right!”

On the training ground, Shisui frowned, looking at the katana burning with raging flames in Yusuke’s hand. He could see that the principle behind the flames on Yusuke’s sword was completely different from his own, and the intensity of the flames was not even in the same league.

”As expected, I can’t defeat you, Senpai, without using my Body Flicker secret technique,” Shisui said slowly.

He still didn’t consider Yusuke to be an opponent of the same level. He thought that his Body Flicker technique was enough to deal with Yusuke, especially since he still had his hidden trump card — the Mangekyo Sharingan!

”Perfect. I also want to see how powerful ’Shisui of the Body Flicker’s’ Body Flicker technique is,” Yusuke said calmly.

As soon as Yusuke finished speaking, Shisui in front of him suddenly began to move rapidly. At the same time, with each movement, he would create an exact replica of himself, making it impossible to tell which was real.

All of these replicas were real, and all of them were fake. Shisui’s real body could instantly teleport to any of the illusions to attack, and he could also teleport to an unattacked illusion if he was attacked!

When sixteen illusions appeared, Yusuke was also amazed by Shisui’s strength. If an ordinary ninja encountered Shisui’s move, they would be completely helpless.

Facing the army of Shisui charging towards him, Yusuke held Ryujin Jakka and retreated instead of advancing. Figures crossed, Yusuke swung Ryujin Jakka, which trailed a crimson flame, creating streaks of fire.

It was the same move that Yusuke had used against Obito!

In terms of combat experience, Shisui was clearly more experienced than Obito.

Shisui keenly sensed the streaks of fire left in the air. They were very troublesome. If he teleported to an illusion and attacked with his real body, and he touched these flames, even a single spark would immediately ignite him with this powerful Fire Release or possibly Flame Release!

Sixteen of Shisui’s illusory clones surrounded Yusuke. But no matter where these clones moved, Yusuke would always use Ryujin Jakka to create streaks of fire around him to restrict them.

Through the Shisui illusory clones that hadn’t been injured by the streaks of fire, Yusuke could immediately tell that these clones weren’t his real body, which reduced the difficulty of pinpointing Shisui’s real body.

On the training ground, Yusuke swung Ryujin Jakka, wielding it with great force, leaving behind magnificent streaks of fire in the air. They were like crimson ribbons, dazzling and mesmerizing.

Shisui was completely unable to unleash the full power of his Body Flicker secret technique. He could only switch back and forth between the few illusory clones that weren’t in Yusuke’s streaks of fire, causing him to be on the defensive, even though he should have been on the offensive after activating his Body Flicker technique.

Increasing the input of chakra, Shisui accelerated the movement speed of his illusory clones, actively dodging Yusuke’s flaming slashes and attacking Yusuke with his katana.

Although Yusuke tried to widen the range of his offense and defense with each slash, he couldn’t achieve 360-degree coverage. Therefore, there were still many gaps for Shisui to counterattack.

”Flame Release: Flame Walk Technique.”

Yusuke formed hand seals with his left hand and also began to use his own flame-based Body Flicker Technique. As long as there were flames from Ryujin Jakka, Yusuke’s ”Flame Walk Technique” could instantly move to that location.

At this time, everyone in the stands was watching with amazement. They could only see Shisui’s dazzling illusory clones, constantly dodging or counterattacking in the crimson streaks of light. Yusuke also seemed to appear out of thin air, moving around in the streaks of fire, sealing them off, and constantly looking for opportunities to attack Shisui’s real body.

Genma Shiranui swallowed hard, ”Are these two guys really that strong? Shisui is only twelve years old, right?”

”And Yusuke’s strength has improved too fast. If Yusuke had this kind of strength when he encountered Kurosuki Raiga of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, maybe Dai wouldn’t have had to sacrifice himself.” Genma then shook his head and sighed.

Might Guy, who was beside Genma, remained silent.

Asuma nudged Kakashi, who was beside him, and asked, ”Are you hiding your strength too, just like them?”

Kakashi shook his head, ”I’m probably not their opponent now. But if I were to fight them as an enemy on the battlefield, I’m confident that I could hold off either one of them.”

If Yusuke were there, he would definitely secretly complain that Kakashi had already classified himself as a ”50/50” ninja.

On the other side of the stands, the Hyuga clan brothers, Hiashi Hyuga and Hizashi Hyuga, opened their Byakugan to observe Yusuke and Shisui, who were fighting.

”Big Brother, even with my Byakugan, I can’t tell which is Shisui’s real body,” Hizashi Hyuga frowned.

Hiashi Hyuga said slowly, ”Yes, I don’t know how he’s using this secret technique. Every illusory clone seems to be his real body. Even the Byakugan can’t tell which is real. It’s a truly troublesome jutsu.”

As he said this, Hiashi Hyuga’s expression became serious, ”The Uchiha clan is truly the most top-tier clan since the Warring States Period. Our Hyuga clan is also a top-tier clan, but we haven’t produced a genius like this yet. It’s truly a disgrace.”
