Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 30: NZNT: Chapter 30

After the duel ended, Yusuke left the training ground.

Izumi and Kabuto were already waiting for him outside. When she saw Yusuke coming, Izumi jumped into Yusuke’s arms happily.

”Brother, you were so cool! I knew you would win!”

Holding the petite Izumi in his left arm, Yusuke patted her head with his right hand and smiled, ”Of course.”

Izumi’s big, black eyes blinked, and she said coquettishly, ”Brother, that swordsmanship where you set your sword on fire was so cool! Can you teach Izumi too?”

”That... Brother can’t. It’s my special ability. Other people can’t use it. But don’t worry, Brother will teach you other cool jutsu in the future.”

Hearing Yusuke’s words, Izumi’s little mouth pouted.

But she quickly moved on to another topic and asked Yusuke, ”Is Shisui okay? He looked a little bad when they carried him away. Even though he was kind of strange for suddenly challenging you, Brother, you didn’t hurt him too badly, right?”

Hearing this, Itachi looked at Yusuke with worry.

Yusuke patted Itachi on the shoulder, ”Don’t worry. Shisui is fine. He’ll be fine after resting for a while.”

Yusuke was about to take the three children back to the Uchiha clan’s headquarters when a cheerful voice came from behind them.

”Yusuke, to celebrate your victory over a formidable opponent, let’s all go eat yakiniku to celebrate!”

The group turned around and saw Guy, who had also just come from the training ground. Kakashi, Asuma, and the others were with him.

Looking at Izumi and Kabuto, who were looking forward to it, Yusuke accepted Guy’s invitation and prepared to take the three children to eat a good meal.

”Sensei, I’m very sorry, but I’m a little worried about Shisui’s injuries. I want to go visit him,” Itachi said apologetically.

Yusuke nodded, showing his understanding. But Izumi, who was being held in his arms, seemed a little less enthusiastic when she heard that Itachi wasn’t going.

In the Third Hokage’s office in the Hokage Tower.

”Sarutobi, you saw the battle today. We must find a way to restrict the Uchiha clan’s power!” Danzō said grimly.

At this time, only the Third Hokage and Danzō were in the office. Even the ANBU who usually secretly protected the Third Hokage had been sent away by the Third Hokage. It was clear that the two needed to discuss something very confidential.

Hearing Danzō’s words, the Third Hokage frowned, but he didn’t respond. He seemed to be thinking about something.

Seeing that the Third Hokage was still silent, Danzō continued, ”This Uchiha Yusuke’s strength... Even you probably couldn’t defeat him, let alone me, right?”

”Moreover, Uchiha Shisui’s strength isn’t much worse than his. If you can’t control Uchiha Shisui, the Uchiha clan will have at least two experts comparable to you, the Hokage.”

”Also, I believe that this Uchiha Fugaku is definitely hiding something. Now, the village might not have enough power to suppress the Uchiha clan!”

Danzō continued to analyze the current situation for the Third Hokage, hoping that the Third Hokage would take a stand and take action against the Uchiha clan as soon as possible.

”Enough. I’ll think about it,” the Third Hokage waved his hand, signaling for Danzō to stop talking.

Danzō snorted coldly, dissatisfied with the Third Hokage’s indecisiveness.

”If you keep going like this, you’ll regret it sooner or later.” Danzō slammed his kimono sleeve hard and then left the Third Hokage’s office.

Rubbing his temples, the Third Hokage was also very troubled at this time.

”Uchiha Yusuke, what should I do with you?”

The plan to have Shisui become the spokesperson for the Uchiha clan had failed. Instead, it had helped Yusuke greatly increase his prestige in the Uchiha clan, and even in the village.

What worried the Third Hokage most was that he couldn’t see through Yusuke’s strength at all.

”Should I use Shisui’s eyes to control him first?”

The Third Hokage thought for a moment, but ultimately abandoned this idea.

Shisui’s eye ability was too important. Besides, the time interval between uses was too long. The Third Hokage wasn’t prepared to use Shisui’s eye ability unless it was absolutely necessary.

Meanwhile, in a yakiniku restaurant in Konoha, Yusuke was having a rare gathering with his fellow ninjas, along with Izumi and Kabuto.

At Guy’s invitation, besides Yusuke, Kakashi, Genma, Asuma, and Kurenai were also present.

They sat around the yakiniku table, each with a large glass of drink in front of them. But it wasn’t alcohol. It was just ordinary juice.

None of them had reached the official drinking age yet. The yakiniku restaurant owner decisively refused Asuma, who wanted to buy some sake.

Izumi and Kabuto, the two children, were eating with gusto, while Yusuke and his fellow ninjas chatted casually.

”Yusuke, how did you learn that kind of flaming swordsmanship? It’s really amazing,” Asuma asked with interest.

Hearing Asuma’s question, everyone looked at Yusuke. After all, the strength he had displayed today was too shocking, and the most impressive thing was the katana burning with raging flames.

”As a ninja, it’s perfectly reasonable to know a little bit of swordsmanship with flames, right?” Yusuke said with a smile.

He had used Ryujin Jakka’s techniques for the first time today, and the results were excellent. Therefore, Yusuke was also in a good mood and started playing a joke that no one else understood.

”I heard that your clan leader’s son, Uchiha Itachi, is also your disciple. Will you teach him this skill?” Genma Shiranui asked.

Yusuke shook his head, ”I can’t teach anyone this swordsmanship. It’s my unique talent.” After all, without Ryujin Jakka, he couldn’t use those techniques.

As he said this, he glanced at Kakashi. Yusuke said pointedly, ”But when it comes to swordsmanship, White Fang-sama is definitely the best. I admire his swordsmanship very much.”

At this time, Kakashi was still carrying the chakra short sword passed down from White Fang on his back. He hadn’t completely abandoned the swordsmanship of the Hatake clan.

But Yusuke knew that Kakashi would soon focus on developing his Sharingan, transforming into a ninjutsu-type ninja. He would later be known as the ”Copy Ninja.” But in Yusuke’s view, this was a very wrong choice.

Kakashi seemed unconcerned by Yusuke’s words on the surface, but he was also hesitant about his future choices in his heart.

They discussed ninjutsu for a while longer. It was getting late, so they prepared to leave.

Guy was about to split the bill with everyone when he suddenly noticed that Kakashi, who had been sitting there, had suddenly turned into a mangy dog. Yusuke, Izumi, and Kabuto had turned into a big bear plushie and two little bear plushies.

Asuma and Kurenai gradually disappeared like illusions. It was clearly a genjutsu escape.

Guy’s expression was blank. He poked Genma Shiranui, who was still there, with his finger. He couldn’t believe it and poked him a few more times.

”Hey, hey, stop poking me. I’m real. But you invited me here. You don’t want me to pay for you, do you?”

”Then why didn’t you just run away? Why are you still here?”

”I just wanted to see how you, without your ninja vest, take money out of that tight-fitting outfit!”

Guy: ”...”

On the street in the evening, three figures, one big and two small, were strolling leisurely.

Yusuke held Izumi’s hand with his left hand and had Kabuto on his right. They slowly walked towards the Uchiha clan’s new headquarters.

”Brother, you’ve already paid the bill. Why did you have to use a substitute technique to escape?” Izumi asked.

”Nothing. I just thought it might be fun,” Yusuke said with a smile.

Hearing this, Kabuto twitched his lips slightly. He didn’t say anything, but pushed up his glasses. He didn’t know what he was thinking.

The three of them chatted as they walked. Soon, they reached their doorstep. In the darkness, a small white snake was secretly watching them.

He told Izumi and Kabuto to go home first and gently closed the door. Yusuke turned and looked at where the white snake was.

”Orochimaru-sama, please come out.”

With a bang, the white snake turned into a puff of white smoke. A tall, thin figure slowly walked out of the smoke. It was Orochimaru.

”Yusuke-kun, this isn’t the place to talk. Come with me.”

Yusuke followed Orochimaru. They soon arrived at a secluded grove on the edge of the village.

Stopping, Orochimaru turned to Yusuke and said, ”Yusuke-kun, your performance in today’s duel was truly surprising!”

”Nothing. I’m sure this level of strength is nothing to Orochimaru-sama.” Yusuke said slowly.

”You’re too modest. To be honest, I might not be your opponent now.”

Yusuke didn’t respond. Instead, he asked, ”Orochimaru-sama, you didn’t just come here to admire my strength, did you?”

Orochimaru looked into Yusuke’s eyes and said slowly, ”Sharingan. What a jealous-inducing talent!”

”That child named Uchiha Shisui, just by relying on the Sharingan, can reach a level that most ninjas can’t even imagine in a lifetime!”

Although Orochimaru’s tone was still normal, Yusuke could see a light called ”desire” in his snake eyes.

Yusuke hadn’t expected that his battle with Shisui had made Orochimaru interested in the Sharingan prematurely.

Ordinary people might suffer more than they gain if they transplant a Sharingan.

For example, Kakashi. The Sharingan was a huge burden for him. He couldn’t turn off his Sharingan, so he was constantly in a state of chakra depletion.

He could only use bandages to cover his Sharingan, reducing the fatigue and chakra consumption burden to some extent.

But Orochimaru, who possessed the ”Reanimation Jutsu,” didn’t have to worry about these things. As long as he took over the body of an Uchiha, he would have the Uchiha bloodline and could perfectly control the Sharingan.

Knowing what Orochimaru was thinking, Yusuke remained silent.

If Orochimaru were to take action to seize the body of an Uchiha, he, as a member of the Uchiha clan, couldn’t stand by and do nothing.

Their eyes met, and they immediately guessed what the other was thinking.

After a few seconds of silence, Orochimaru spoke first, ”Yusuke-kun, although you didn’t use it in today’s duel, you’ve actually awakened your Sharingan, haven’t you?”

Hearing Orochimaru’s question, Yusuke was startled. He was about to deny it when a long sword suddenly shot out of Orochimaru’s mouth, slashing towards Yusuke’s chest.

The two of them were only inches apart. Orochimaru’s sudden attack, which came from his mouth, caught Yusuke off guard.

Yusuke quickly retreated and used the Body Flicker Technique to create distance. Although he wasn’t injured, his chest was cut open.

”Orochimaru-sama, what do you mean?”
