Naruto: Zanka No Tachi

Chapter 15: NZNT: Chapter 15

Seeing Yusuke swing his sword, Nagato’s eyes widened in fury, and he cried out in anguish, ”No!!!”

Hearing Nagato’s cry, Konan, who had been closing her eyes, couldn’t help but open them and look back. She saw Nagato’s mouth wide open, the ”No” that he had been shouting abruptly cut short.

With a ”thump,” a headless body appeared on the ground of the cave. However, this body seemed to be unclothed and completely white, making it look very strange. It was Zetsu, the White Zetsu that Obito had arranged to follow them.

Nagato let out a long, trembling sigh, returning the heart that had been in his throat back to his chest.

He had thought that Yusuke’s slash was aimed at Konan, but it turned out to be aimed at a ninja hiding in the shadows nearby. ℯℯ𝑙.

Although they found the White Zetsu’s form very strange, Nagato and Konan still considered it a Rain ninja or a Konoha ninja, just using some kind of strange jutsu to transform into this form.

However, Nagato, who possessed the Rinnegan, quickly discovered that the structure of this white body was completely different from that of a normal human.

”What is this?” Nagato asked Yusuke.

”You’ll know what it is soon enough,” Yusuke replied, not explaining what White Zetsu was. He simply retracted his Zanpakuto and turned, slowly walking towards the cave entrance.

Although he had killed this White Zetsu, Yusuke knew that Obito would find Nagato soon. Then, Nagato would naturally understand what White Zetsu was.

Seeing Yusuke put away his weapon and spare them, Konan felt as if all her strength had left her, and she collapsed to the ground.

”Why did you spare us?” Nagato asked Yusuke’s back loudly.

The other party was a Konoha ninja. It was clear today that it was a conspiracy between Rain and Konoha against them. As a Konoha ninja, there was no reason for him to spare them.

Yusuke didn’t stop walking when he heard Nagato’s question.

”Because you haven’t done anything wrong. Yahiko hasn’t done anything wrong. The world hasn’t done anything wrong.”

As Yusuke’s blurry figure faded into the distance, his words grew fainter.

”It’s the capriciousness of fate that is wrong!”

Hearing Yusuke’s words, Nagato’s eyes glazed over, and he couldn’t recover for a long time.

Konan, who was very observant, suddenly noticed that a scroll had appeared on the ground where Yusuke had been standing.

”What’s this?” Konan picked up the scroll and examined it.

Leaving the cave where Nagato and Konan were hiding, Yusuke let out a long sigh, ”I still can’t bring myself to do it!”

Yusuke knew that he might regret this decision in the future, but at this moment, at least, his conscience was clear.

After treating the wound on his right shoulder, Yusuke took a spare Konoha ninja uniform from his storage scroll and changed into it, covering his injuries. Then, he immediately rushed back to the lodging where the Konoha delegation was staying in Rain Village.

Danzō had already changed back into his half-black, half-white kimono and was sitting in the hall with a gloomy expression.

He was very angry about this operation. Not only had he not obtained the Rinnegan he had been coveting, but he had also lost almost all of his personnel.

Even though he had perfectly completed the mission of negotiating compensation with Rain, losing so many people was a greater loss than gain. He was bound to be reprimanded by Sarutobi when he returned.

Thinking of Sarutobi’s old face, Danzō’s anger, which had just subsided, surged back up. ”Damn Hanzo! He’s useless. He actually let the hostage be taken back!”

Danzō was furious, and the other Konoha ninjas stood nervously to the side, none daring to speak up at this moment.

”It seems like the delegation is missing quite a few people. Did something special happen? The Third Hokage didn’t mention any other missions when we came to Rain Village. Danzō-sama, do you have any explanation?” A voice came from the entrance to the hall. It was Yusuke, who had just returned to the lodging.

Yusuke was also gloomy at this time. He hadn’t had much contact with Danzō before. Most of his impressions of him came from the anime or manga before he crossed over. While he didn’t like him very much, he didn’t have any particular feelings towards him.

But now, Yusuke was in the Naruto world, and Danzō’s despicable actions were happening right in front of him. This made Yusuke very angry.

Facing Yusuke’s question, Danzō didn’t answer. Instead, he coldly asked back, ”Where were you? Why weren’t you at the lodging?”

”Where was I?” Yusuke sneered and continued, ”I saw that Danzō-sama and the Root ninjas were all gone, so I went outside to find out where you went.”

”You bastard! How dare you talk to Danzō-sama like that!” A Root ninja behind Danzō shouted angrily.

Yusuke’s gaze was like a blade. He coldly swept the Root ninja with his eyes. The ninja felt a strong killing intent envelop him, as if he would be killed instantly if he said another word.

A drop of cold sweat slowly trickled down his forehead. The Root ninja swallowed hard, wanting to speak, but he couldn’t make a sound.

”I’ll explain this to Sarutobi when we get back.” Danzō snorted coldly and stood up, walking towards the hall entrance.

As he passed Yusuke, Danzō stopped, glanced at Yusuke with murderous intent, and then left the hall.

On the other side, in a secluded grove, Obito and Zetsu were discussing Yusuke’s situation. Obito had already changed into a new mask.

”What’s the identity of the Konoha ninja you fought with today? He’s very strong. You’re planning to attack Konoha and seize the Nine-Tailed Fox soon, right? With someone like him around, your operation will be very difficult.” Zetsu’s white half said.

”His name is Uchiha Yusuke. He’s always been my opponent. He’s naturally not easy to deal with. But it’s not difficult to contain him. I already have a plan. He won’t be able to stop me.” Obito said slowly.

”Your clan member? He didn’t seem to use the Sharingan when he fought you.” Black Zetsu said.

Compared to White Zetsu’s strange, squeaky voice, Black Zetsu’s voice was very deep.

Obito snorted coldly, ”At least when I left Konoha, he hadn’t awakened his Sharingan. But no matter what, I’m going to master Yin-Yang Release as soon as possible!” This failure had sounded an alarm bell for Obito. He felt that he might not be able to carry out his subsequent plans smoothly with just his current Kamui ability. He needed to improve his strength as soon as possible.

A few days later, the Konoha delegation that had gone to Rain Village to negotiate returned to the village. Only half of them returned.

Yusuke stood outside the Third Hokage’s office, waiting quietly. After a while, Danzō, whose face was frighteningly black, came out. He had obviously been severely reprimanded by the Third Hokage and was in a very bad mood.

Danzō didn’t even look at Yusuke. He simply flicked his wide sleeve and left with his remaining subordinate. Poor Yamanaka Shika had died at the hands of Nagato.

After Danzō left, Yusuke also reported the intel he had gathered to the Third Hokage. He didn’t mention encountering Obito or sparing Nagato and Konan. He told the Third Hokage all the other intel, including the existence of the Rinnegan.

After all, there were many ninjas from both Konoha and Rain who had participated in Danzō and Hanzo’s operation. It was unnecessary and impossible to conceal it.

After reporting to the Third Hokage, Yusuke didn’t stay any longer. He left the Hokage Tower.

At this time, in the Uchiha clan territory, on the training ground specifically for Yusuke’s disciples, three small figures were diligently practicing.

Kabuto was practicing Earth Release jutsu. After training for these past few days, he, who was extremely talented in chakra control, could already perform many basic jutsu.

Yusuke had checked Kabuto’s chakra nature. He had Earth, Water, and Wind, so most of the jutsu Kabuto was practicing were from these three elements.

Izumi was practicing with the most basic ninja tool, the kunai, on the side. She didn’t forget to ask Itachi to guide her.

”Itachi, look, look! I almost hit the bullseye this time!” Izumi said excitedly to Itachi, who was beside her.

Itachi smiled and nodded. ”Good. You’re making a lot of progress.”

”It’s all thanks to you teaching me!” Izumi said happily.

Kabuto, who was practicing Earth Release jutsu, had just popped his head up from the ground next to them. He looked at them with a black line on his face and said, ”I offered to teach you, and you didn’t want to. You had to find Itachi.”

Hearing Kabuto’s voice, Izumi looked down and saw that only Kabuto’s head was sticking out of the ground. She was startled at first, then blushed and explained, ”Itachi is actually better at using kunai. I didn’t mean anything by it.”

Kabuto shook his head, while Itachi pretended not to hear their conversation, looking straight ahead.

Suddenly, as if thinking of something, Itachi casually threw three kunai towards the target.

Seeing Itachi’s actions, Izumi and Kabuto were both confused. ”It seems like Itachi just casually threw the kunai. He didn’t aim at the target, right?”

But Itachi’s next action completely shocked Izumi and Kabuto. He threw three more kunai. These three kunai, which were thrown later, hit the first three kunai, changing their direction. In the end, all six kunai hit the bullseye of each target.

Kabuto’s mouth hung open in disbelief. His glasses even fell off his nose.

Luckily, he was using Earth Release jutsu, only sticking his head out of the ground. The distance between his glasses and the ground was short, so they didn’t get damaged. Otherwise, he would have been heartbroken.

Izumi was also dumbfounded, but she quickly recovered. She looked at Itachi with admiration, her big eyes almost filled with hearts.

It’s worth mentioning that girls in the Naruto world mature very early. Sakura started to have a crush on Sasuke at this age, and Hinata started to have a crush on Naruto at this age.

”Itachi, when did you learn that trick?” Kabuto asked in a daze.

Itachi said casually, ”I just saw Izumi throwing kunai and got an idea.”

From this moment on, Itachi officially developed his strange attribute — micromanagement OCD.

Hearing Itachi’s words, Kabuto felt very discouraged. Itachi’s casual move made him feel inferior.

”Clap, clap, clap!” A round of applause came from behind them. The three of them turned to see that a young man older than them was standing on a wooden stake in the training ground. They hadn’t noticed him before.

This young man had short black hair. Although he wasn’t particularly handsome, he gave off a very comfortable vibe. He had a sunny smile full of friendliness.

He was carrying a short sword on his back and was wearing a Konoha ninja uniform, indicating that he was at least a Chunin.

”Shisui-senpai!” Itachi and Izumi said in unison.
