I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 149: Chapter 107: One Hell of a Project Proposal

Lin Muxue and the others went to the conference room as soon as they received Zhang Lin’s message.

Lin Mengyao had just finished setting up the conference room with her team, furnishing it with a new rectangular conference table and office chairs.

Lin Muxue and the others were very curious about the sudden meeting.

’It’s so sudden. This must be something big.’

But none of them had heard anything about it.

Seeing Zhang Lin take a seat, Lin Muxue asked, ”President Zhang, you called us in for a meeting so suddenly. It must be something important, right?”

Fu Yao, Lin Mengyao, and the others also looked at him.

Zhang Lin nodded. ”It is very important. I just acquired Kailin Investment’s campground and Flower Sea, along with the 40,000 mu of land they had under contract.”

Everyone was stunned by the news.

”That fast?” Even Lin Muxue, who was privy to a lot, looked completely incredulous.

She estimated that Kailin Investment must have invested around 150 million yuan in the project. That was no small sum.

A deal of this magnitude should have taken some time to negotiate, unless some other power had intervened.

She immediately thought of the You City officials.

Only the You City officials would be so desperate to resolve the online trouble quickly.

Liu Qian and Lin Mengyao were even more astounded. The farm had grown so much in an instant, and with tens of thousands of mu of land to be developed in the future, it was bound to become more and more successful.

And the farm’s success meant more opportunities for them.

Especially after Zhang Yuan’s promotion to department head, they were all hoping for a similar opportunity.

Zhang Lin continued, ”After acquiring Kailin Investment’s assets, we won’t just be taking over their campground and Flower Sea. We’ll also be taking on their 200-plus employees. The farm will be much larger then, so we need to delegate some responsibilities.”

This was one of Zhang Lin’s main goals for the day.

Once he took on the 200-plus employees from Kailin Investment Farm, his total staff count would exceed 600.

He didn’t want to change anything with the restaurant and ticket office. Those were all staffed by game-recruited employees, and Mucheng and Zhao Lin, the two managers recruited through the game, were doing an excellent job.

These employees hired through the game couldn’t be integrated into the regular payroll system.

The two systems had to be kept separate.

As for the other projects—two campgrounds, two Flower Seas, a bamboo maze, and a Bamboo Culture Park—how many tasks, big and small, would that entail?

’I can’t possibly manage all of that by myself. I have to delegate these responsibilities and entrust the work to my employees. Otherwise, what’s the point of hiring them?’

Hearing this, Liu Qian and the other young women immediately perked up their ears.

’Dividing responsibilities? Doesn’t that mean a chance for a promotion and a raise?’

A wave of anticipation washed over them.

Zhang Lin continued, ”First, Lin Mengyao. You’ll be in charge of onboarding the 200-plus new employees. Once that’s done, you’ll be promoted to HR Manager, with a salary of 20,000 a month plus bonuses. After that, you’ll need to hire a supervisor and fill out the HR department to a staff of 20.”

’For a farm like this, a 20-person HR department would be sufficient for up to 1,000 employees.’

”Thank you, President Zhang! I’ll handle it well!” Lin Mengyao’s face lit up with joy. ’Deciding to quit my old job and come to Li Yuan Farm after my sister told me about it was absolutely the right decision.’

’My sister’s connection wasn’t used in vain!’

’At my old company, there’s no way I could have jumped two ranks in such a short time. Who knows how many years it would have taken to get promoted to manager.’

’I’d probably just end up watching some well-connected person get parachuted in above me, with no chance for promotion at all. That’s the reality for most working people.’

’And it’s true, a new company really does offer more opportunities for growth.’

Zhang Lin said, ”Additionally, I’m planning to create a director position to oversee the operations and management of all our projects. Senior Sister Lin, are you interested?”

When Lin Muxue was poached, she was the head of the online operations department, a director-level position with a salary of 35,000.

Department director is one rank higher than manager.

Besides, she was clearly very capable. She handled the online operations with ease. You could tell from her Friends Circle posts that she wasn’t feeling any pressure at all.

This recent online incident showed him that his senior sister’s abilities went far beyond that. After all, she was the first to spot the issue and then secretly orchestrated the hype. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have ended with a frustrated Zhao Neng coming to him to sell off his assets at a loss.

’That’s why I’m planning to make this senior sister my top workhorse and pile all the important tasks on her.’

”Since President Zhang is giving me the chance, of course I’ll take it. Besides, I’m confident that I’m up to the task.” Lin Muxue accepted with composure, a confident look on her pretty face.

Zhang Lin nodded. ”Alright, then I’ll leave the projects to you, Senior Sister. Your salary will be increased to 40,000 plus bonuses. Also, our original campground was designed by Fu Yao. I promised I’d let her manage the project during her summer internship, so please give her some extra guidance.”

At his words, Liu Qian, Lin Mengyao, and the others all turned to look at Fu Yao, their eyes filled with envy.

After all, for a summer intern to get an opportunity like this was something others could only dream of.

It seemed President Zhang’s intentions were as plain as day.

Fu Yao clearly noticed everyone’s gazes, and her face immediately turned beet red.

She was more mature than most her age and certainly no fool; she couldn’t have missed the affection the older man showed her from time to time. It was just that... she was only going to be a senior in high school next semester.

Then, she recalled the recent change in her sister’s and mother’s attitudes, and a strange feeling stirred in her heart.

Lin Muxue chose that moment to speak up. ”Don’t worry, President Zhang. I’ll keep a close eye on things for Fu Yao.”
