I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 125: Chapter 97: Isn’t This a Bit Too Fanciful?

That would be a real pain in the ass.

The chances were slim, but it could definitely happen. People these days would stop at nothing for online clout.

Having a security guard pick them would be a good way to avoid that kind of trouble.

”Yes, Boss!” The security guard nodded, took the bag, and entered the rapeseed Flower Sea to start picking.

Before long, the guard handed him a small bag of rapeseeds.

The bag contained about 3.3 pounds of rapeseeds, which should be enough to produce 1.1 pounds of oil without a problem.

Normally, rapeseeds intended for consumption need to be sun-dried before being pressed for oil.

This step reduces their moisture absorption, minimizing the risk of sprouting from humidity during storage and processing.

However, since he wasn’t making this for consumption, it didn’t matter. In fact, many skincare products made with rapeseed oil boasted about their natural plant-based ingredients—and where would those ingredients come from if the seeds were all dried out?

There were several ways to extract rapeseed oil: machine pressing, the ancient method, and steam-pressing.

He didn’t have a machine right now, though he’d have to buy a couple later.

The ancient method was too much trouble, and he didn’t have time to build a wooden press house.

With only 3.3 pounds of seeds, steam-pressing was the simplest option. He could just have the kitchen handle it.

The chef recruited through the game should know how to do it.

When he arrived at the kitchen, Lin Nan, who was in charge, came forward to greet him. ”Boss, what brings you to the kitchen today?”

”Help me press these rapeseeds for oil,” Zhang Lin said, handing the bag to Lin Nan.

Soon after, Lin Muxue arrived at the farm, and he met with her at the service center.

As soon as they met, Lin Muxue got straight to the point. ”President Zhang, Zhang Yuan knows how to make moisturizing cream. She used to enjoy making handmade goods and selling them on her Friends Circle back in college. Moisturizing cream is one of the things she often made. The production method just varies a bit depending on the ingredients. What materials were you thinking of using, President Zhang?”

Zhang Yuan also looked at Zhang Lin curiously. On the way over, she’d heard from Lin that this President Zhang wanted to create a special farm-produced moisturizing cream for tourists and turn it into one of the farm’s signature products.

’If I’m the one who develops this product from the start, I’ll feel a real sense of accomplishment.’

Zhang Lin explained, ”I plan to make the moisturizing cream with rapeseed oil. The Flower Sea season is about to end, right? We’ll have plenty of rapeseeds to press for oil then.”

”???” Zhang Yuan was dumbfounded when she heard this.

She had heard of making moisturizing cream with aloe, camellia oil, honey, and the like. She had even made some with camellia oil and honey herself, as those ingredients were known to have moisturizing properties. In fact, many well-known brands used them.

But this was the first time she had ever heard of making moisturizing cream with rapeseed oil.

’The key question is, does this stuff even have any moisturizing properties?’

’A moisturizing cream has to be effective, first and foremost. You can’t just slap a ’farm specialty’ label on it and expect it to be popular. If it doesn’t work, it won’t sell, even with the Li Yuan Farm name behind it.’

’Women don’t fall for that kind of gimmick. Results are what win them over.’

’If it doesn’t work, why would anyone choose your farm specialty over a brand-name product that gets the job done?’

’Still, the boss wants to do it, and as an employee, I can’t just shoot down his outlandish idea.’

So, she quickly reported, ”President Zhang, for oil-based moisturizing creams, there’s a general formula. We’ll also need mugwort, mint leaves, beeswax, Vitamin E, polyvinyl alcohol, carboxymethyl cellulose, glycerin, ethanol, benzoic acid, fragrance, and purified water... all those ingredients.”
