I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 141: Chapter 104: Li Yuan Farm is Going to Make Huge Waves

Lin Muxue asked again, ”So, if you pick Technician 66 and you’ve already paid for extra time with her, would you still think about getting extra time with Technician 88?”

”Uh!” Zhang Lin was taken aback, realizing what his senior meant.

Tourists travel to relax and unwind, much like a man going for a foot massage. In this analogy, our Seven-Color Flower Sea was Technician 66, while Kailin Investment’s was Technician 88. And Technician 66 completely outclassed 88 in looks and build.

After tourists had their fun here and were tired out, would they really go to the inferior attraction at Kailin Investment?

They’d spent all their energy on Technician 66 and entered a state of post-session clarity.

Once they were tired out, they weren’t going to go somewhere else to see an inferior version of the same attraction.

After all, most tourists have to carve out time for their trips. Kailin Investment’s Flower Sea clearly wasn’t attractive enough to warrant a special visit.

Zhang Lin smiled. ”You have such a clear perspective, Senior. I just never would have guessed you’d be so well-versed in the world of massage technicians.”

Lin Muxue shot back, ”Then let me ask you, President Zhang. When a group of us women go out for a team-building night, drinking at a club, do you think we hire male escorts?”

”...” Zhang Lin was speechless. He felt like he had just discovered a whole new side to his senior.

’So bold and fierce!’

’It kind of shatters her goddess-like image.’

He was starting to understand why all those outstanding upperclassmen from the alumni group could never win her over.

Reality played out just as Lin Muxue and Zhang Lin had discussed. Kailin Investment lowered its prices—tickets were now just 15 yuan—but bookings barely increased, save for a few sporadic purchases. For a while, it seemed like no one was interested in their Flower Sea at all.

Zhao Neng wasn’t an idiot; he quickly figured out the reason. ”Tourists from outside You City won’t make a special trip just for our Flower Sea and then head right back, all because of the lodging situation. Unless we have adequate accommodations, we’ll just have to wait for the campground to be finished.”

His assistant understood and chimed in, ”I did some digging. The campground at Li Yuan Farm can host about 5,000 people. Their current daily visitor count is already over ten thousand. The rest are basically staying in hotels, inns, and guesthouses in You City!”

”But even with that, a lot of people still can’t find lodging. When our campground opens, we’ll solve that problem for them. And because we’re close, we can even poach the tourists staying in You City.”

Zhao Neng nodded. ”I’ve taken out a 300 million loan. When the time comes, we’ll run a discount promotion and hand out taxi fare reimbursements. The hotels and inns in the county won’t stand a chance against us. As long as our discounts are steep enough, not even Li Yuan Farm’s own campground will be able to compete!”

”As long as we get enough people to the campground, we can launch another promotion: follow our social media account for another discount coupon. Once our name gets out there, Li Yuan Farm will slowly but surely fall behind. This will also drive traffic to our Flower Sea and boost other spending, which will let us quickly develop new attractions.”

The assistant nodded, chiming in again. ”That way, even if we couldn’t hijack Li Yuan Farm’s business like we originally planned, we’ll still have a chance to go head-to-head with them. The crucial part is that after their campground and Flower Sea, they have almost no land left to develop. We’ve got them completely surrounded.”

Zhao Neng nodded.

His mood brightened considerably at the thought.

But apparently, he hadn’t yet grasped the full meaning of ”ideals are grand, but reality is harsh.”

「The Farm.」

Zhang Lin was no longer focused on the Flower Sea. After all, there was no point wasting energy on a foregone conclusion.

He called for Liu De and they headed to the sea of rapeseed flowers together.

After all, the oil from these rapeseeds had a moisturizing effect +1 attribute and was destined to become moisturizing cream.

Since the rapeseed flower attraction had been closed, the ticket gate was shut. When the two of them entered the area, it was completely silent.

”Liu De, gather some people and have them harvest these rapeseeds,” Zhang Lin instructed as they arrived at the sea of rapeseed flowers.

”Right away, Boss!” Liu De nodded and immediately got to work. He quickly gathered five farmhands from the peach orchard, and they started harvesting the rapeseeds with tools and burlap sacks.

Rapeseeds grow in long, thin pods, similar to string beans. Once the mature pods are picked, they have to be shelled to extract the small, black seeds inside.

Zhang Lin just watched from the side.

Typically, one mu of tall-growing rapeseed yields 200 to 300 jin of seeds.

After Liu De and the five farmhands had harvested a one-mu area, they had collected about 150 jin of rapeseeds.

This wasn’t the total yield, however. The rapeseed’s flowering period wasn’t completely over, so more seeds would still develop, and many existing ones weren’t yet mature. A second harvest later on should yield a similar amount. This meant that the game-system rapeseed could produce a full 300 jin of seeds per mu.

Typically, it takes three jin of seeds to press one jin of oil, so 300 jin of seeds would yield 100 jin of oil.

Based on the 1:10 ratio Zhang Yuan had used for the moisturizing cream, the yield from one mu could produce 1,000 jin of moisturizing cream.

Across 500 mu, that would be 500,000 jin of moisturizing cream.

If they were packaged into the 100-gram jars that Millennium helped design, that would amount to 2,500,000 jars.

If they only sold it to lucky visitors, that supply would last a very long time.

And this moisturizing cream would officially become Li Yuan Farm’s first signature product.

’I’ll have to think carefully about the pricing.’

In the days that followed, Liu De and his team of five continued to harvest the rapeseeds. Since many were still immature, they couldn’t just indiscriminately strip the plants in this first pass, making the progress incredibly slow.
