I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 104: Chapter 87: What to Do When the Bamboo Artisans All Want to Quit?

’She thought her dad was being too inflexible.’

’To be a master, to be an internet celebrity, you have to establish your own style first. You can’t be like everyone else.’

When Old Guo saw this, his brow furrowed. He clearly understood what was happening and couldn’t help but say, ”Lin Haida, the Lin Family really can’t shake some of its bad habits. You were just like this back when your family was learning the craft from the Guo Family.”

”Who the hell are you?” Lin Qing was instantly annoyed when she heard this.

Lin Haida quickly pulled his daughter back.

Lin Qing was also mindful of the livestream’s influence; otherwise, she would have torn into this old geezer who had just popped up out of nowhere.

...

Zhang Lin didn’t know what was happening at the Bamboo Culture Park. Even if he had, he wouldn’t have been surprised. Profit moves the human heart, and the human heart is an incredibly complex thing, capable of all sorts of behavior.

He had received a call from Huang Tao early that morning. ”Zhang Lin, the van you ordered—the Dreamer—my friend has already taken care of all the paperwork. We just need to go to the vehicle registration office later for the final signing and licensing.”

”Got it.”

After hanging up with Huang Tao, Zhang Lin also called Lin Muxue.

”President Zhang, what are your orders?” Lin Muxue asked with a smile.

Zhang Lin chuckled. ”Senior Sister Lin, no orders, just good news. The van for your operations department has arrived. Take a taxi to the You City vehicle registration office later. Once the paperwork is done, you can drive it back.”

”Thank you, President Zhang!” A clear note of joy entered Lin Muxue’s voice.

After all, having a dedicated company van was much more convenient than taking taxis!

So, after hanging up, she told her operations staff, ”You all continue with the planning and design as scheduled. Zhang Yuan and I are going to the vehicle registration office.”

Zhang Yuan was a young woman who did copywriting. Because her workload was lighter, she also handled logistics for the team, which naturally included driving.

”Lin, has the van President Zhang got for us arrived?” Zhang Yuan, who knew about it, asked.

”Mhm!” Lin Muxue nodded.

...

After hanging up, Zhang Lin left the prefabricated office and went to the stables to lead out Bailong.

Bailong was clearly delighted, rubbing its head against him repeatedly.

Horses are highly intelligent; it knew that leaving the stables meant it could go out for a run.

There was no riding arena or prairie here, so just getting out of the stables for a run was a joyous event for it.

After mounting the horse, Zhang Lin rode directly to the county’s vehicle registration office. His arrival outside the office drew a lot of attention.

Most of the people here were registering vehicles, either for themselves or for others. They were quite surprised to see someone arrive on horseback. ’Does this horse need a license, too?’

But they had to admit, in a place like the vehicle registration office, riding such a handsome white horse was truly eye-catching.

Lin Muxue and Zhang Yuan saw him too. Both women were captivated by the sight of such a magnificent white horse.

”Lin, it’s President Zhang,” Zhang Yuan said, her face full of surprise.

”Mhm!” Lin Muxue glanced over. She had no idea the farm had such a gorgeous white horse. ’And with a horse like this, why isn’t President Zhang using it for promotion?’

’If he posted a few videos of it online, he could probably create an animal influencer.’

’But President Zhang must have his reasons for not promoting it.’

”President Zhang!” Lin Muxue led Zhang Yuan forward to greet Zhang Lin.

”Zhang Lin, you rode a damn horse straight to the vehicle registration office. You’ve got style,” Huang Tao said with a laugh as he hurried over, a man following behind him.

After Zhang Lin dismounted, Huang Tao made the introductions. ”Zhang Lin, this is my friend, President Liu from Dehui Car Sales Company. President Liu, this is my friend, President Zhang.”

President Liu immediately and enthusiastically shook Zhang Lin’s hand. ”President Zhang, I’ve heard so much about you. We’re delivering the Dreamer today. Your Mercedes S-Class will take another ten days or so.”

This scene made some of the onlookers look at Zhang Lin in surprise.

Everyone in the small county of You City knew President Liu from Dehui Car Sales Company. They were either from other car dealerships or worked as agents handling paperwork, so they were all very familiar with him.

’And this President Zhang who arrived on horseback has also ordered a Mercedes S-Class?’

Cars of that caliber weren’t uncommon in big cities, but they were a rare sight in a place like You City, especially a brand-new one on order.

More importantly, President Liu’s tone seemed a bit deferential toward President Zhang. As seasoned veterans in this industry, they naturally understood that for President Liu to act this way, President Zhang must be an incredibly powerful figure.

President Liu was indeed trying to get on his good side. After all, the man before him was the boss of Li Yuan Farm.

Who in You City didn’t know about Li Yuan Farm?

Putting everything else aside, the farm was currently hosting 10,000 visitors, which meant an income of 500,000 yuan from ticket sales alone.

This put him in a completely different league from people like them. He was a true tycoon.

”President Liu, thank you for your trouble with the car,” Zhang Lin replied with a smile. The man was Huang Tao’s friend, so he would be polite for Huang Tao’s sake.

President Liu knew he couldn’t just keep trying to curry favor by rambling on. He quickly got to the point. ”President Zhang, all the paperwork for the Dreamer is done. You just need to sign, have your picture taken on-site, and leave the rest to me.”

”Okay,” Zhang Lin nodded.

The process of getting license plates was actually quite troublesome, so many people couldn’t be bothered to do it themselves and preferred to hire an agent.

This created a business for agents who specialized in handling the process. They had connections at the vehicle registration office and could get things done in a very short time.

Car dealerships like President Liu’s naturally offered such services as well, and their connections were even stronger than those of independent agents.

Before long, the Dreamer had its license plates and all the paperwork was complete. Zhang Lin handed the keys to Lin Muxue. ”Senior Sister Lin, you drive this back. From now on, it’s the company car for your operations department.”

”Thank you, President Zhang!” Lin Muxue was very pleased with the vehicle. After all, a seven-seater Dreamer van cost over 300,000 yuan. To have such a high-class vehicle specifically for the operations team’s work was quite impressive.

Afterward, Zhang Lin chatted with Huang Tao for a bit, paid the remaining balance of over 200,000 yuan for the Dreamer to President Liu, and then returned to the farm.

For the next two days, the farm’s operations ran smoothly. The Bamboo Maze became lively again as the crew from *Super Brain* began filming their special episode.

Ninety-nine percent of the visitors had never experienced a live filming before. They all found it incredibly novel, and it attracted a large crowd of onlookers.

Additionally, the Bamboo Culture Park was now fully on track. Its exquisite bamboo products were extremely popular with tourists. In fact, because the craftsmen’s capacity was limited, they couldn’t possibly keep up with demand even if they worked themselves to death. Some tourists couldn’t even buy the bamboo products they wanted.

That evening, Zhang Lin checked his bank balance: 10,725,467.15 yuan.

He had broken the ten-million mark again.

Just as he was about to check the day’s detailed sales figures, his phone rang. The call was from Zhao Han, the director of the tourism bureau.

The moment he answered, Zhao Han’s urgent voice came through, ”Boss Zhang, there’s a situation at the Bamboo Culture Park! That bamboo craftsman, Lin Haida, wants to resign! He’s the one who was compared to Master Zhao during that livestream!”

”Why does he want to resign?” Zhang Lin frowned.

’This doesn’t make sense.’ After all, the Bamboo Culture Park offered him a salary that was hard for an ordinary person to earn.

As for why the tourism bureau knew about the resignation first, it was because the farm’s management structure wasn’t fully developed yet. He hadn’t assigned anyone to manage the bamboo craftsmen, and he wasn’t personally handling it. The tourism bureau had recruited these people, so it was normal for them to be the first to know.

Zhao Han’s irritated voice came over the line, ”It seems that livestream gave him a little fame, and now he wants to quit and become a bamboo-crafting internet celebrity himself.”

”Then let him resign, Director Zhao. A forced melon isn’t sweet!” Zhang Lin wasn’t concerned. He immediately understood that Lin Haida had simply let the fame go to his head.

There was nothing strange about it.

Many people in society achieve a little success and get carried away, only to suffer a nasty fall in the end.

If he resigned now, he would fall hard. Getting back into the Bamboo Culture Park would be difficult after that.

Zhao Han, unaware of the Bamboo Culture Park’s true foundation, hung up the phone. Seeing that President Zhang wasn’t the least bit anxious, he grew even more flustered.

’Hasn’t President Zhang grasped the situation yet?’

’Right now, it’s just Lin Haida. If we let him leave and he actually makes a name for himself, the other bamboo craftsmen will get the same idea. What if, over time, they all follow his example and want to resign?’

’At that point, what skilled craftsmen would be left? They’d probably all be dreaming of becoming internet celebrities.’

’And then the Bamboo Culture Park would be finished.’

This would have a major impact on the tourism bureau’s promotions and the county’s bamboo products industry.
