I Can Stock Up in the Game

Chapter 112: Chapter 91: Campsite vs. Campsite?

Some people don’t really understand much, yet they insist on flaunting their authority, acting like they know everything just to prove they exist...

That’s just how it is. There are some things everyone understands, yet no one can say anything about them.

Still, thinking of Boss Zhang’s confident demeanor, he found himself feeling a little expectant.

If Kailin Investment Company were to suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of Li Yuan Farm, a head-to-head battle of campsites, they would absolutely lose their shirts. Then, the next time a business conference like this was held, Kailin Investment Co., Ltd. wouldn’t even need to show up.

...

After leaving the County Administration Building, Zhang Lin received a message from Lin Mengxi: ”Boss Zhang, let’s meet at Sifangzhuo for lunch today. Also, you must have heard about Kailin Investment Co., Ltd. I did some digging for you and have some information to share.”

Only then did Zhang Lin remember he had a lunch appointment with Miss Lin. Since it was nearly lunchtime, he headed toward Sifangzhuo.

Sifangzhuo, located on the third floor of the Central Commercial Plaza, was a fairly well-known restaurant.

When Zhang Lin arrived, he received another message from Lin Mengxi with the table number. As soon as he entered Sifangzhuo, he spotted her.

She had specifically chosen a table in a corner. ’She’s probably gotten a bit famous in You City since she started as an agricultural livestreamer and doesn’t want to be recognized,’ he thought.

She had originally intended to treat him at the restaurant on Li Yuan Farm, but she was worried that Boss Zhang would just insist the meal was on the house again!

”Boss Zhang, have a look at the menu!” Lin Mengxi said with a bright smile when she saw him arrive.

Zhang Lin nodded and casually ordered two dishes. ’The food at these chain restaurants is all more or less the same,’ he thought. ’It’s never bad, but never amazing either. After all, affordability is their main selling point.’

”Boss Zhang, you’ve heard about Kailin Investment Company, haven’t you?” Lin Mengxi asked after they had been eating for a little while.

”Mhm,” Zhang Lin nodded.

Lin Mengxi continued, ”I heard about it at the bureau today, so I had a friend look into it. They’ve clearly been planning this for a while. Even though they just leased the land, they’d already commissioned the design plans. What’s more, they started ordering tents and other equipment and facilities some time ago...”

Lin Mengxi explained a lot, but none of it was particularly helpful to Zhang Lin in a practical sense.

Still, he was grateful for her thoughtfulness. ”Thank you for the heads-up, Miss Lin!”

Seeing Zhang Lin’s attitude, Lin Mengxi said in surprise, ”Boss Zhang, you don’t seem the least bit nervous about this.”

After all, Kailin Investment Group was a big name in You City, and for this new venture, they had apparently mobilized a significant amount of capital.

”Uncle! Mengxi! You’re here too?” a surprised and cheerful voice suddenly called out.

They both turned to see Fu Yao standing there with another girl. Upon seeing Lin Mengxi, the other girl exclaimed in delight, ”You’re Mengxi! From the agricultural livestreams!”

”Yes!” Lin Mengxi nodded. Seeing Fu Yao, she extended an invitation. ”Fu Yao, are you with a friend? Come join us!”

”Oh, no, it’s fine! I’m treating my friend to lunch today. I need to ask her for a favor!” Fu Yao said, quickly waving her hand. Then she suddenly asked, ”Mengxi, are you and Uncle on a date?”

For some reason, as she asked the question, she felt a strange twinge in her heart.

Zhang Lin quickly shook his head. ”We’re just having a normal meal!”

Hearing this, Lin Mengxi added, ”That’s right. I’m treating Boss Zhang to a meal to thank him for all his support.”

’Of course, there was something she didn’t say. If the opportunity arose, she wouldn’t be against going on a date with Boss Zhang. After all, in a small place like You City, outstanding men were few and far between.’

’Men like Boss Zhang were even rarer.’

’It was a shame, though. She had taken the initiative to ask him to lunch, but he didn’t seem to show the slightest romantic interest or any particular fondness for her. Because of that, she wouldn’t be too forward herself. She wasn’t the type of woman to be overly aggressive or throw herself at a man.’

’Of course, if he had shown even a little interest, she certainly wouldn’t have minded trying to take things further.’

’But he hadn’t.’

”Well, I won’t bother you two then. I still have to treat my friend!” Fu Yao said, pulling her friend over to another table.

As the meal was ending, Zhang Lin received a WeChat message from Fu Yao: ”Uncle, don’t forget your promise! I’m coming to work at the farm during summer break!”

Zhang Lin smiled. ’Is this girl really worried I’d go back on my word over something so small?’ He replied: ”I wouldn’t forget that for anything.”

”You forgot before, Uncle!”

”That was a complete accident. Speaking of which, you need to get me the design plans for the campsite soon. It would be best to base them on a 2,000-mu area.”

Zhang Lin made sure not to forget about business.

Fu Yao replied: ”The designs are actually almost done, but for 2,000 mu, I’ll have to adjust some of the design data. I can get them to you in a couple of days, Uncle.”

”Okay, I’ll be waiting for the good news!”

After returning to the farm, Zhang Lin began preparing the necessary documents. Since he was going to build a campsite, he first had to lease the land. He had already selected a riverside area at the intersection of the Bamboo Maze and the Canola Flower Sea.

When the time came, the campsite, the Canola Flower Sea, and the Bamboo Maze would form a convex, protruding layout.

Furthermore, a road would be built at the tip of this protrusion, creating another entrance to the farm. Then, to its left, another road could be added leading to the parking lot.

The parking lot would also need to be expanded. Although many tourists currently came from out of town by high-speed rail to You City, a good number from nearby cities also came on road trips. Once the campsite was finished, there would be even more of the latter.
