Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

「One thousand kilometers away, on a cruise ship.」

”Achoo.”

”Huh? Did Su Baby catch a cold?”

”Maybe someone’s thinking of me...”

Su Zhi rubbed his nose in confusion, gazing west—in the direction of Huai City.

’Leaving Wu Bao behind all by himself... I’m still a little worried. I hope nothing happens to him.’

”Relax, your parents will take care of him.”

”That’s true.”

Su Zhi nodded. ’Maybe I’m overthinking it.’ Wu Bao didn’t have as many mischievous ideas as Yu Bao; he was an honest little bug.

”Compared to Wu Bao, your parents are probably more worried about Su Baby~”

Shao Ya gave a teasing smile and handed him a bottle of AD Calcium milk.

”Su Baby needs to take care of himself, okay? Eat well, and don’t go on a hunger strike~”

”...” Su Zhi accepted it without a fuss, drinking it with an air of indifference.

Whatever, he was used to it. ’As long as I accept the fact that she has me wrapped around her finger, I’m invincible.’

’I can even get a freebie ear-cleaning from a girl in white stockings~ What’s not to love?’

Noticing the slightly unusual glint in Su Zhi’s eyes, a faint blush appeared on the girl’s cheeks, and she took a tactical step back.

”Wh-what are you thinking!”

Su Zhi looked calm. ”I’m not thinking about anything.”

”No, you’re definitely thinking of something naughty!”

Su Zhi’s eyes glinted with amusement. ”Takes one to know one. Could it be that *you’re* thinking about it? Like that time on my birthday...”

”Of course not!!!”

Shao Ya retorted at the top of her lungs, her face turning into a ripe tomato, practically steaming.

After a few seconds of silence, the girl realized her own embarrassing state, quickly covered her face, and ran back to her room with a PITTER-PATTER, ignoring him.

Leaning against the railing, Su Zhi stifled his laughter alone on the deck.

’Shao Ya might seem like an expert at teasing him, but really, she’s just as flustered. The moment I turn the tables, she shows her true colors.’

The sound of the sea breeze became incredibly clear. The waves lapped rhythmically, exceptionally soothing, and seagulls skimmed over the ocean surface in the distance.

Su Zhi fell silent for a moment, then opened his phone. The screen displayed the admissions website for the university affiliated with the Flying Shadow Alliance.

His search history was also full of admissions-related information.

In truth, he had already gone over this information countless times in the past few days... Su Zhi gave it a brief glance before looking away and entering a state of Meditation.

’My Beast Taming Space has expanded a little more. It’s so close to Tier Four. At this rate, Tier Five won’t be far off.’

’Good.’

The corners of Su Zhi’s mouth lifted into a slight smile.

”Woof?” Yu Bao stood on the railing, tilting its head curiously.

Why do you keep looking at this? It’s not time for you to take college entrance exams yet, is it?

”Holy crap!” Su Zhi jumped like a startled cat, nearly flinging his phone into the sea.

”When did you get here?”

”Hsss~” Yu Bao’s gaze was peculiar.

Why so jumpy? Are you trying to hide something?

”Of course not... wait, why am I even telling you this?”

Su Zhi pursed his lips. ”Get down from there, be careful you don’t fall.”

And so, Yu Bao’s body tilted, and it fell.

Su Zhi jumped in fright. He instinctively reached out to grab it, but just as he was about to dive in, he hesitated tactically.

Sure enough, just as it was about to hit the water, Yu Bao exploded with a BANG, sending up a massive spray.

’So it was a clone...’

”Hahaha~” A panting sound came from behind him. The real Yu Bao was lounging leisurely on the roof of the cabin, an expression of regret on its face.

Too bad I couldn’t trick Su Zhi into jumping in.

SPLASH.

While the Envoy and Pet were chatting, a splash erupted from the water.

”QUACK!!!”

Xue Li emerged from the water, the feathers on its head blasted into a frazzled mess. It put its wings on its hips and pointed accusingly at Yu Bao.

Are you nuts, quack!

”Chirp chirp.”

Another small, golden head poked out of the water, looking at Xue Li with a face full of admiration.

Wow, in just a few seconds, Auntie Xue Li got a cool new hairstyle.

Su Zhi shouted, ”Shan Bao? How are you feeling? Can you maintain it?”

”Chirp!” Shan Bao flapped its wings, indicating that it was no big deal, and continued swimming in the water with Xue Li.

Shan Bao was currently practicing the Low Level Elite Gold Element Skill it had just learned the day before yesterday: Immortal True Gold.

Gold Element Pet Beasts might seem durable, but they are actually vulnerable to many non-physical attacks: high temperatures, strong acids, humidity, extreme cold...

Immortal True Gold could be said to address these weaknesses perfectly. By lowering the activity level of the Gold Attribute Energy within its body, it could reduce or even block external Skills.

Although it wasn’t a silver bullet, it was enough to counter most Skills aimed at the Gold Element.

The only downside was that the reduced Energy activity level also impeded movement, which was why most Pet Beasts would stand still when activating this Skill.

Theoretically, as long as only the surface Energy’s activity level was lowered, the rest of the Energy could remain active without hindering movement... However, making the body’s Energy maintain two different states simultaneously was not simple.

Therefore, Shan Bao was trying to overcome the limitations of Immortal Golden Body by activating the Skill while swimming with Auntie Xue Li.

’Who knew it would actually work~’

”Quack.” Xue Li turned back to emphasize that she was not an ”auntie.”

Shan Bao nodded. ”Chirp!”

Okay! Auntie Xue Li!

”...” Xue Li shot a vicious glare at Yu Bao, then ignored it and went off to swim with the little one.

A smile played on Su Zhi’s lips. Feeling the feedback from the Attribute Panel, the amusement in his eyes deepened—

[Pet Beast: Shan Bao (Flash Gold Sparrow)

Power: 1.00

Agility: 1.05

Intelligence: 1.02

Constitution: 2.29

Perception: 1.02]

[Real-time Energy Value: 1934]

[Assignable Attribute Points... 0.01]

’It really worked. Shan Bao earned new Points.’

Su Zhi immediately added it to Constitution, rounding it out to a nice 2.30. The Real-time Energy Value also became 1940, a perfect round number.

Although it hadn’t been long since he’d formed a contract with it, Shan Bao had been following the general policy of ”concentrate all resources on Constitution,” and its Constitution had already been pushed to a terrifying height.
