Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

The height of summer, the end of July—

[Su Zhi]: This afternoon?

[Shao Ya]: This afternoon!

[Shao Ya]: Tell Yu Bao to get ready to be utterly crushed.

[Shao Ya]: Don’t go crying after you lose~

[Shao Ya]: That goes for you too, Su Baby~

[Shao Ya]: But if it’s Su Baby who’s crying, I’ll treat you to something nice to comfort you~

[Su Zhi]: Got it. I’ll just start crying then /doge

[Shao Ya]: *bonks you on the head*.jpg

Early morning. The dawn’s first light quietly slipped into the bedroom through a gap in the curtains.

The young man lay on his bed with his legs crossed, his ten fingers typing rapidly, the corners of his mouth unconsciously curling into a slight smile.

Yu Bao slept beside him on his back, half his tongue lolling out, looking completely content and utterly blissful.

The sunlight then shifted to Yu Bao’s mouth. He licked his lips instinctively, then smacked them with satisfaction as if he’d truly tasted something, and rolled over.

Su Zhi shifted his leg for him so it wouldn’t get trapped underneath as he turned.

”Chirp!”

A small, golden head suddenly popped out from under the blanket.

Your little cutie has suddenly appeared!

”Good morning, Shan Bao.”

”Chirp chirp~” Shan Bao nuzzled against Su Zhi, then hopped out from under the blanket with a Bling Bling, bounced onto the windowsill, and yanked the curtain open with her beak.

SWOOSH—

The sunlight that had been waiting outside for so long flooded in all at once, making the bedroom incredibly bright. Yu Bao, displeased, squinted his eyes and burrowed his head back under the covers.

”Chirp chirp!”

Shan Bao gently poked Yu Bao’s head with her jio.

’Big Brother Yu Bao, stop sleeping! Get up and train with me!’

’Now you know my pain...’ Su Zhi didn’t know whether to laugh or cry as he watched this scene, feeling a secret sense of satisfaction.

As an avian creature, Shan Bao recovered her stamina much faster than Yu Bao.

This new king of grinding had completely out-grinded the old king, Yu Bao. Even though they trained together late into the night every day, Shan Bao would be up and training before six in the morning, while Yu Bao was still fast asleep.

”Woof...” Yu Bao whimpered a few muffled barks and tried to shrink back into the blanket. But Shan Bao wouldn’t let him; for every inch he retreated, she would pull the blanket back an inch.

Finally, the entire blanket was pulled off, and Yu Bao had no choice but to get out of bed, his expression devoid of all hope.

”Chirp!”

Shan Bao stood on the concrete floor, her Qi Sinking into her Dantian, and took her stance.

Yu Bao stood a short distance away, his body perfectly still. A crimson glow swirled in his eyes, and a red Light Array immediately materialized beneath Shan Bao’s feet.

WHOOSH!

A nearly three-meter-tall pillar of fire erupted in an instant, completely engulfing Shan Bao.

At the same time, sand and dust gathered—Furious Sand Blade, activate!

Four battle sabers made of sand stabbed toward the Giant Fire Pillar from four directions, forming a cross.

Immediately after, a pale yellow Light Array lit up, and a Yellow Earth Wall completely sealed Shan Bao and the Giant Fire Pillar inside.

Secret Technique: Combined Skill, Fully Enclosed Oven!

High-end ingredients only require the simplest cooking methods. Coat Shan Bao in sand, toss her into the Giant Fire Pillar to grill for half an hour, and even Xiaoyue next door would be crying from the tantalizing aroma.

Su Zhi stood to the side, timing them with a stopwatch.

”Chirp chirp!”

A moment later, Shan Bao’s voice came from inside the Yellow Earth Wall oven.

Yu Bao immediately dispelled the Yellow Earth Wall and the Giant Fire Pillar.

Shan Bao was now charred black, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Black smoke rose from her body as she lay on the ground, feet pointing to the sky, unable to get up.

Su Zhi stopped the stopwatch. ”6.52 seconds.”

Shan Bao happily jumped up, shook off the soot, and ran over to Yu Bao with a Bling Bling.

’Big Brother Yu Bao, look! I improved by another 0.32 seconds compared to yesterday!’

”Woof~” Yu Bao forced a smile and patted Shan Bao on the head.

Once Shan Bao turned and left, he plopped down on the ground and let out a long yawn.

’So sleepy. This little sister is going to be the death of me with all her grinding...’

After forming a contract with Su Zhi, Shan Bao’s progress could be described as miraculous. It was only the first week of their contract, yet Shan Bao already had a single Attribute on the verge of breaking 2.00.

Of course, this was largely because Shan Bao had been focusing her Points on building up her Constitution.

This focused investment in Constitution gave Shan Bao unimaginable Defense Power and endurance.

Currently, aside from the Burning Sand Blade, which had the strongest aftershock, it was difficult for any other move to pose a threat to Shan Bao or even break her defense.

Don’t be fooled by Shan Bao’s sorry state after taking that Giant Fire Pillar; that was simply a simulation of an extreme environment.

In a real battle, what Pet Beast would stand perfectly still and let itself be roasted by a Giant Fire Pillar for six or seven seconds?

”Chirp! Chirp!”

With the point allocation complete, Shan Bao felt the change in her body and excitedly flapped her wings on the spot.

’Is this what it feels like to be full of power? It feels amazing! I really want to find another Pet Beast and pick a fight right now!’

Su Zhi looked at Yu Bao. ”You could spar with Yu Bao.”

But Shan Bao shook her head.

Yu Bao, who was lying nearby, watched this scene with satisfaction, the corners of his mouth curling up slightly.

’Looks like in Shan Bao’s heart, her big brother still holds a lot of weight.’

Shan Bao: ”Chirp!”

Shan Bao indicated that if she fought with Big Brother Yu Bao and he happened to lose, he would be very embarrassed!

Yu Bao: ”...”

’What a thoughtful little sister, always looking out for me.’

Su Zhi: ”Lol.”

Yu Bao pouted and walked over to Su Zhi to have his points allocated as well.

Although he looked a bit pathetic being challenged so bluntly by his little sister, there was a reason Yu Bao was Su Zhi’s first Pet Beast. His strength was still very much on point.

In the last few days, Yu Bao had discovered a new way to gain Points—training with Shan Bao.

Even when using the same Skills, he earned more Points from helping Shan Bao train than he did from simple skill practice.

The former required precise control over the degree of release and the actual effect, while the latter was merely simple release training. The two could not be compared, of course.
