Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”Jiu?” ”Woo?”

Su Zhi rubbed Yu Bao’s head while Wu Bao and Shan Bao gathered around to watch curiously.

”Woof... woo...” Yu Bao let out a vibrating whimper as Su Zhi petted him.

’This is... the ritual for becoming stronger!’

’Actually, rubbing his head is just for show. You don’t really need a ritual to get stronger...’ Su Zhi grumbled to himself.

A moment later, the point allocation was complete—

[Pet Beast: Yu Bao (Yu Dian Farm Dog)

Power: 1.30

Agility: 2.20 -> 2.26

Intelligence: 2.29 -> 2.50

Constitution: 1.42

Perception: 2.47 -> 2.70]

[Real-time Energy Value: 3121 -> 3741]

He had a total of 0.50 points to spend this time.

Yu Bao had recently participated in two battles. First, he and Xiaoyue defeated two Shadows of Ancient Jing. Then came the life-or-death struggle against the higher-tiered Demon Abyss Claw. Both were incredibly intense fights.

Furthermore, helping Shan Bao control its Gold Element Energy had given Yu Bao new insights, allowing him to rake in another batch of points.

Thanks to this snowball effect, Yu Bao had accumulated a whopping 0.50 points!

Su Zhi allocated the points according to Yu Bao’s wishes.

Although Yu Bao’s Agility, Intelligence, and Perception were all outstanding, he was now focusing more on Intelligence and Perception.

This was partly due to affinity with his Skill System, and partly because improving his Energy Perception Ability would, in turn, take a whole range of his Skills to the next level.

Su Zhi lifted his hand. The allocation was complete!

”Woof-woo...” Yu Bao contentedly opened his eyes, his tail perking up slightly.

Wu Bao and Shan Bao both scooted closer, watching curiously.

”Woof woo!” Yu Bao lifted his chin proudly.

’See how different I am now?!’

Wu Bao and Shan Bao glanced at each other for a moment.

Then, Wu Bao scratched his head. ”Woo?”

’Did he get a little uglier?’

”...” Dark lines of frustration appeared on Yu Bao’s face.

’Whatever,’ he thought. ’I’m a Wise One. It’s only natural that a crude Fighting Pet Beast like him wouldn’t be able to resonate with me.’

Yu Bao decided to demonstrate the changes in his skills directly—

First up was Desert Concealment.

SWOOSH!

In the blink of an eye, sand and wind filled their vision. Wu Bao was shocked to realize that the speed at which Yu Bao transformed into a cloud of dust was a whole tier faster than the last time he’d seen him do it!

Su Zhi’s jaw dropped as well.

The mid-air cloud of sand traveled in a straight line for a moment before sharply reversing course, flying back in the opposite direction.

Just as Su Zhi thought it was about to stop, Yu Bao executed another drift. The sand cloud stylishly carved an S-curve across the grass before coming to a smooth halt.

Su Zhi asked in pleasant surprise, ”Did your Desert Concealment break through to Tier Three?”

”Woof woo!” Yu Bao nodded proudly, his expression clearly begging for praise.

Tier Three Desert Concealment not only had a faster activation speed, but its other key feature was a much more flexible trajectory.

An S-curve was nothing. If necessary, Yu Bao could even pull off a Cobra Maneuver or a Falling Leaf.

”Woof-arf!”

Next, Yu Bao demonstrated another skill—Furious Sand Blade.

The trajectory of Furious Sand Blade had also become much more flexible. It could launch a rapid, straight-line assault, or it could make incredibly smooth turns to track a target, although its speed was slightly slower and its duration was limited.

Just when Su Zhi thought that was all, the Furious Sand Blade suddenly split in two in mid-air, sinking deep into a nearby pine tree.

Furious Sand Blade: Dual Blade Style!

Effortless, unpredictable, and impossible to guard against.

Now that Yu Bao had mastered the Splitting Technique, Furious Sand Blade had also officially broken through to Tier Three!

”That’s just brutal...” Su Zhi glanced sympathetically at the pine tree, which had once again, and again, and again, become the practice target for Yu Bao’s skills.

Of course, his sympathy was all he was going to offer. He wasn’t about to do anything else.

The pine tree: ”...”

SHHH— SHHH—

Immediately after, a pale yellow Energy Light Array lit up. Four sections of earthen wall shot up—they resembled Yellow Earth Wall, but their dark, somber color was different.

The four rock walls linked together, forming a cube.

Yu Bao snapped his claws. A Sand Shadow Guard condensed a clone, which jumped inside the cube. Then, the top of the cube was also sealed by a rock wall.

BANG!

A deafening explosion erupted from within the cube. Shan Bao was so startled it plopped onto the ground and made a hasty two-step tactical retreat.

The power of that strike was comparable to a Tier Two Offensive Skill; a normal Yellow Earth Wall would have stood no chance of withstanding it.

And yet, the cube of rock walls remained standing strong. Forget collapsing, there wasn’t even a single crack.

Yu Bao snapped his claws again, and the wall sealing the top withdrew.

The inner walls of the cube were scorched black by the clone’s explosion, but they remained incredibly sturdy, without so much as a hairline crack.

Su Zhi was dumbfounded. ”Incredible... Is this still Yellow Earth Wall?”

”Woof woof~” Yu Bao waved his paws with the air of a seasoned lecturer.

The main factors affecting the solidity of a Yellow Earth Wall are temperature and humidity. They impact coefficients such as the material’s true density, bulk density, porosity, and moisture content, which in turn alter its mechanical properties.

After refining his Elemental Perception Ability, Yu Bao specifically used Fire Element Energy to apply some process improvements to the Yellow Earth Wall, making it adaptable for all kinds of combat situations.

This is Yellow Earth Wall 2.0!

Then, Yu Bao wagged his tail again.

In the center of the cube formed by the four Yellow Earth Walls, a red Light Array glowed, and a small version of a Giant Fire Pillar emerged, burning slowly within the rock enclosure.

”Woof-arf.”

Yu Bao solemnly introduced it to Su Zhi.

This was his newly developed portable fire stove, convenient for both grilling meat and providing warmth. With its simple structure and safe operation, it was an essential gadget for home and travel alike.

”You really know your dual-use technology...” Su Zhi praised Yu Bao with a laugh.

The gains from this point allocation had far exceeded Su Zhi’s expectations. Two skills had broken through to Tier Three! And Yu Bao had developed so many new tricks for Yellow Earth Wall that calling it Tier Three felt like an understatement.

Yu Bao, however, shook his head with a hint of regret.

He had actually thought of several new moves, but unfortunately, he still couldn’t control the Gold Element Energy within his body.

’I really want to awaken my second Evolutionary Type as soon as possible!’
