Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

”CHIRP!”

The moment Liu Junpo gave the command, Wanzi let out a chirp and shot toward Shan Bao with a WHOOSH.

Watching from the sidelines, Yu Bao was suddenly reminded of some bad memories, and its butt clenched.

He still remembered the utter despair of being chased by Wanzi for the first time—unable to land a hit, unable to outrun it, unable to defend against it. He had a ton of Skills but couldn’t use them effectively, and in the end, he was eaten alive.

Now, it was Shan Bao’s turn to experience that same helplessness!

It wasn’t that Yu Bao felt sorry for his little sister; he was simply excited by the thought that ’You’re finally going to taste the same suffering I did!’

”CHIRP!”

Shan Bao flew into the air to dodge.

Although everyone usually teased Shan Bao by calling it a Shimmering Free-Range Chicken, at the end of the day, it was a proper, pedigreed avian creature.

Compared to Yu Bao, who had used Desert Concealment to dodge horizontally, Shan Bao’s use of its flight advantage to dodge vertically was clearly more efficient.

For a moment, Wanzi completely forgot that Shan Bao could take to the sky. Its attention was focused entirely on the ground, causing it to react half a beat too slow.

But Wanzi was still Wanzi, after all.

In just half a second, Wanzi quickly adjusted its center of gravity and shot upward in pursuit.

As a Cyan Cloud Group with the Wind Attribute, it already possessed flight capabilities on par with any ordinary bird!

”QAQ CHIRP!”

Shan Bao was so scared its feathers nearly flew off.

”Shan Bao, don’t panic! Play to your strengths! A Pet Beast Battle is, at its core, a clash of trump cards!”

At that moment, Su Zhi’s voice rang out in the Beast Taming Space.

Although it had faced the Earth-necked Dragon alongside Su Zhi before, this was the first time it had experienced the sensation of directly receiving his thoughts.

This was what it felt like for a Beast Tamer to truly fight side-by-side with their partner—a feeling that nothing else could replace.

Shan Bao, who was usually quick to get nervous, calmed down under Su Zhi’s direction and sped up with a flap of its wings.

At the same time, golden wing-blades shot out, sweeping toward Wanzi like a torrential downpour.

’Take this! This is my Strongest Output Skill—Golden Feather Flying Blade!’

”CLINK CLINK CLINK CLINK”

The feather blades struck Wanzi’s body like bullets hitting the front armor of a tank, failing to penetrate.

Having lost their momentum, the feathers scattered and drifted down like a rain of golden petals.

The feathers fell at a speed of five centimeters per second, but in the blink of an eye, Wanzi was already right in front of Shan Bao.

”CHIRP!”

Wanzi charged into empty air. With a flash of golden light, Shan Bao’s body vanished on the spot.

Wanzi: ”?”

”Behind you!” Liu Junpo warned through the Beast Taming Space.

”Chirp!” Wanzi whipped around and, sure enough, saw Shan Bao appearing amidst the falling golden feathers.

It was Flash Gold Teleportation. A Flash Gold Sparrow can use Flash Gold Teleportation to jump to the vicinity of any metal!

Only then did he understand Shan Bao’s tactical intentions.

Shan Bao and Yu Bao were from the same clutch. And since Yu Bao knew him very well, it must have told Shan Bao about his abilities and tendencies.

Even the offensively powerful Yu Bao couldn’t break through his Hardening defense, so there was no chance for a little rookie like Shan Bao.

She hadn’t released Golden Feather Flying Blade for the damage, but to fill the surrounding space with metal.

This way, the limitations of Flash Gold Teleportation would be drastically reduced!

Come to think of it, Yu Bao also liked to feign an attack with Sandstorm, only to use it as cover to escape with Desert Concealment. The two strategies were different but achieved a similar effect—both were essentially a ”tactical retreat” mindset...

’Those two are definitely from the same clutch!’

”CHIRP CHIRP CHIRP!” Wanzi turned and lunged at Shan Bao again.

’Let’s see you keep teleporting!’

”Chirp chirp!”

Seeing Wanzi approach, Shan Bao quickly used Flash Gold Teleportation to dodge again.

With so many feathers in the air, Wanzi had no way of predicting which one Shan Bao would use as an anchor for its teleportation.

Compared to Desert Concealment, which left a trail to follow, Flash Gold Teleportation was proving to be much more airtight on the battlefield!

”Woof~” Yu Bao panted smugly, his tongue hanging out.

’This Wanzi guy is so lame.’

’That’s my Shan Bao, she’s amazing!’

’What are you so happy about... You’re the one who got beaten half to death by Wanzi...’ Su Zhi thought to himself, arms crossed.

Still, Shan Bao’s performance was genuinely impressive. It might even be possible for her to solo Wanzi in one go.

Shan Bao was currently dodging with ease. Neither Golden Feather Flying Blade nor Flash Gold Teleportation were high-consumption Skills, so she had enough in the tank to wait out the duration of Wanzi’s Hardening.

If there was one uncertainty, it was that Su Zhi had initially been worried Shan Bao might run out of feathers. If she threw so many of them out like daggers, how would she fly...?

But then he realized Shan Bao wasn’t as dumb as he was. She was creating the feathers from Energy. She avoided using her own feathers if she could, otherwise she really would become a free-range chicken.

Not far away, on the sixth floor of the office building, that man stood by the window, his hairline looking as if it had receded a little further.

Hearing footsteps, Zhou Shengfa quickly turned to see Yan Shouzheng waving at him with a grin.

”Shengfa, you’re so dedicated, working overtime during summer break?”

”Ah, I was bored at home anyway. My wife told me to get out of the house for a walk, so I figured I’d come back to the school to take a look...”

”She getting tired of you again?”

”...” Zhou Shengfa looked aggrieved.

Seeing Yan Shouzheng also taking a spot at the window, Zhou Shengfa raised an eyebrow. ”Don’t tell me you’re here to watch Su Zhi’s new Pet Beast too, sir?”

”That’s right.”

Yan Shouzheng sighed softly. ”After Peng Kai, the Beast Taming High Schools in Huai City have been in a slump... In my opinion, he’s the first student to break that mold.

”I even have a feeling he’ll go further than Peng Kai did. I hope my intuition is right, haha!

”But getting back to the point, what do you think of Su Zhi’s new Pet Beast?”

”From what we’ve seen so far, its performance is quite excellent.”

Zhou Shengfa nodded. ”Facing Liu Junpo’s Cyan Cloud Group, Su Zhi’s Flash Gold Sparrow is using a Combined Skill to dodge nimbly. Its approach is much more sound than Yu Bao’s was back then.
