Beast Taming: I Can Add Points

WHOOSH—

The moment Brother Shui soared into the air, a massive, azure, circular Light Array materialized high above, almost covering the entire arena below.

One, two, three—three Light Arrays stacked together, their brightness instantly flaring to three times its original intensity.

The Turbulent Duck’s Core Skill: Multiple Broken Waterfall Judgments!

Yan Dingyi’s heart jumped. He subconsciously wanted to tell Brother Shui to stop at once, but he held his tongue.

Honestly, if this wasn’t stopped, Shan Bao would very likely be injured.

Multiple Broken Waterfall Judgments was the Upper Rank Skill of Broken Waterfall Judgment. The three Light Arrays would alternately amplify the intensity and speed of the water flow, achieving an attack power boost of more than three times.

He remembered how Fang Yuan’s White Flame Battle Spirit had taken a direct hit from a Hao Waterfowl’s Broken Waterfall Judgment during the city league tournament. Although it seemed fine at the time, its injuries had flared up after the match, and it had only recently recovered.

If that was the fate of the versatile and defensively capable White Flame Battle Spirit, what would happen to a fragile Flash Gold Sparrow, which wasn’t skilled in defense? Wouldn’t a single hit mean instant death?

But Shan Bao’s performance was indeed beyond Yan Dingyi’s expectations.

While the Flash Gold Sparrow species wasn’t known for being a defensive Pet Beast, Shan Bao as an individual... er, as a bird, was a completely different story.

And besides, she was *that* man’s Pet Beast.

His intuition as a Master Level Beast Tamer told him that this Pet Beast Battle might have a very different outcome!

”Shan Bao, be careful! Here it comes!” Su Zhi called out loudly from his Beast Taming Space.

”CHIRP, CHIRP!”

Shan Bao bounced on the spot excitedly, lowered her center of gravity, and leaned forward, preparing to meet the impact.

At the same time, Su Zhi could feel the rhythm of Energy within her body—Shan Bao was trying to master Hardening!

”QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!” Brother Shui let out a cry from the air like a cavalry charge.

’You dare mock me for being quick! You dare mock me for not being good enough!’

’Watch me fill you up with this super-sized stream of water!!’

BOOM—

An enraged torrent crashed down from the heavens, instantly enveloping the entire arena in a truly stunning display.

This was one of the reasons many boys liked to form a pact with a Hao Waterfowl. Whether it was strong or not was another matter, but it looked incredibly cool when it unleashed its Core Skill.

Of course, Broken Waterfall Judgment wasn’t just for show; it was a genuine Strong Attack Skill!

SPLASH! WHOOSH! CRASH!

The chaotic sound of splashing water echoed across the arena. Everything was a blur of white foam. As far as the eye could see, there was only a raging torrent, as if one were caught in the great flood of a mythical age.

Even so, amidst the chaos, one voice came through with particular clarity—

”Shan Bao, how are you doing? Can you hold on?” Su Zhi’s voice was tinged with urgency. After all, this was no longer a game; this was the real deal.

”...CHIRP!”

Shan Bao struggled to respond while maintaining her center of gravity.

The attack was truly powerful and ferocious. Even though she had already activated Super Heavy Gold Fall, she could vaguely feel her stance starting to destabilize.

Her body truly felt the ferocious impact of the current now, a dull ache spreading through it. It was no longer the numb sensation from before.

At the same time, the suffocating sensation of being completely submerged was a torment for Shan Bao.

Under these circumstances, to have to divide her focus to comprehend Hardening—regardless of the difficulty—was in itself an immense test of willpower.

Yet Su Zhi could clearly sense that Shan Bao’s will had not wavered in the slightest.

Although she was enduring unimaginable pressure and pain, Shan Bao forcefully focused her attention, comprehending Hardening while simultaneously maintaining Super Heavy Gold Fall.

That obsession—the absolute need to become stronger—was now burning brighter than ever.

Though her vision was blocked by the vast white torrent, Shan Bao knew that Su Zhi was fighting alongside her, that Brother Yu Bao was silently cheering for her from the side of the arena, and that Brother Wu Bao... uh, he probably had no idea.

She had once been incredibly weak, afraid of everything. She clearly yearned for the wide world, yet could only huddle behind her elder brother’s back.

But after forming a pact with Su Zhi, Shan Bao saw her chance to change everything.

She no longer wanted to be a burden to everyone. She no longer wanted to be so frail that she couldn’t withstand a gust of wind.

She, too, could stand on her own!

WHOOSH—

The moment her desire to break through reached its peak, Shan Bao’s body was instantly covered by an invisible aura.

Although she looked no different on the outside, under the impact of the powerful current, Shan Bao’s stance suddenly became incredibly stable. Not only did her center of gravity remain firm, but even the feathers that had been trembling in the torrent froze in place as if sculpted.

By eliminating the minute tremors in her body, the consumption of Shan Bao’s core Power was reduced to a minimum. She was, in fact, even steadier than she had been at the beginning.

Hardening Tier One, officially mastered.

—To face a ferocious and powerful opponent with a small, fragile body. To remain as unshakable as a city wall, even when facing world-destroying pressure.

This was the fundamental truth of the Skill, Hardening.

This was Shan Bao’s leap forward, her transformation!

WHOOSH—

After an unknown amount of time, the torrent of water gradually weakened until it dissipated completely.

Seeing Shan Bao not only unharmed but looking even more spirited, Brother Shui froze in mid-air, his brain failing to compute.

’This Flash Gold Sparrow just... tanked my ultimate move??’

”CHIRP, CHIRP!”

Shan Bao flapped her wings, suddenly dissolving into golden points of light and disappearing.

”Above you!” Hall Master Yan’s warning came from within Brother Shui’s Beast Taming Space.

He looked up. Shan Bao had appeared near the metal dragon-bone framework of the Battle Hall’s ceiling, and she was now diving headfirst toward Brother Shui.

’Senior! It’s my turn to counter-attack!’

”QUACK?!” Brother Shui was stunned for a second, frantically activating Flowing Shield to defend himself.

She was clearly just a lightweight little bird, so why did he have the feeling of a Stone Armor Rhinoceros falling from the sky? He even felt like he might not be able to take this...

POOF!

While he was lost in thought, Shan Bao pierced directly through the Flowing Shield and, without losing any speed, slammed into Brother Shui.
