You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

285: Section 285Many internet users.

When searching for a certain software or the hot topic of an event, they are also accustomed to using Baidu Index for investigation.

And now.

Many people do not believe it.

When Penguin Waimai’s daily active users truly dropped to four million, this Baidu Index information, which was posted, seemed to be able to prove this matter.

Judging from Baidu’s search volume in the past few days.

Penguin Waimai’s search volume, after the event ended, did indeed experience a cliff-like decline, and on the day the hot search appeared, Penguin Waimai’s search volume on Baidu was indeed only one-tenth of what it was before.

As soon as this data came out.

It almost directly confirmed the information released by the previous informant.

Penguin Waimai’s daily active users now seem to be truly only one-tenth of their peak period a few days ago.

After this Weibo big V posted this evidence, this Weibo was also pushed to the forefront of weibo hot search, also causing a lot of discussion.

”Is it true or false? Is Penguin Waimai really failing?”

”Although Penguin Big Cafeteria does not operate offline to the public, you can still judge by the number of delivery drivers at the entrance. My building is above Penguin Big Cafeteria, and the number of Penguin Waimai drivers coming in the past two days is indeed much, much less than before.”

”I can also confirm what the person upstairs said. Where I work, I can see a pick-up point for Penguin Big Cafeteria.”

”Goodness, Penguin Waimai is probably going to suffer heavy losses this time.”

”The function of this online cafeteria indeed did not achieve Penguin’s estimated effect. This time, Penguin’s investment in the takeaway field feels like it won’t be recovered. The two billion dollars previously used to acquire Baidu Takeout will probably all go down the drain.”

Amidst the heated discussions of countless netizens.

Penguin Waimai finally disclosed their latest daily active user performance at 8 PM that night.

And this number.

Indeed, only four million remained.

As soon as this information was released, almost the entire network was shocked.

Although before.

Bloggers had already posted various pieces of evidence, many internet users were still a bit skeptical about this number.

After all, a tenfold decrease in user count within a few days sounds quite exaggerated.

But when Penguin Waimai itself announced its latest daily active users, those users who originally didn’t believe it now had nothing to say.

When Penguin Waimai’s performance appeared.

Everyone understood.

This Thousand Group Battle has also completely entered its final stage.

And whether in the group-buying or takeaway fields, the Penguin Group, which was originally highly anticipated, achieved a rather dismal result, almost a complete defeat.

The Penguin Big Cafeteria, which the Penguin Group had high hopes for, its true strength was quite poor and did not have much appeal to users.

When discounts and large subsidies disappeared, Penguin Big Cafeteria’s order volume experienced an unprecedented drastic drop.

And it’s important to know.

Penguin Big Cafeteria was gradually established through the acquisition of Baidu Takeout.

The failure of Penguin Waimai also announced that all their previous investments in acquiring Baidu Takeout could not be recovered, and now Penguin Waimai’s user count is even less than that of Baidu Takeout before they acquired it.

Originally.

If Penguin Waimai had given enough importance to ordinary shops and merchants, and like Meituan Takeaway and Ele.me, attracted a large number of ordinary merchants to join, then Penguin Waimai’s current performance would not be so poor.

It’s just a pity.

While developing the Big Cafeteria, Penguin Waimai believed that the online cafeteria could replace most ordinary private shops, so they invested almost nothing in private shops.

Ultimately, this led to the number of ordinary merchants and shops in Penguin Waimai being far less than Meituan Takeaway and Ele.me, and its Red Envelope discount strength was also insufficient.

And this.

Is the key reason why Penguin Waimai’s current situation is so difficult.

Whether Penguin Big Cafeteria or ordinary merchants could hold their own, Penguin Waimai’s daily active users would not have dropped so much. Unfortunately, Penguin Waimai failed to grasp both aspects.

Penguin Waimai is probably only a matter of time away from being completely delisted.

At the same time.

As Penguin Waimai’s daily active users plummeted, the user numbers of Meituan Takeaway and Ele.me began to gradually recover and increase.

Of course.

Ele.me’s market share is still far behind Meituan Takeaway.

And shortly after Penguin Waimai announced its performance, Meituan also released a piece of data, but this data was not the latest daily active performance of any software, but the current market value of Dianping.

During this period, Dianping’s market value also increased from one billion dollars at the time of Meituan’s acquisition to six billion dollars, a sixfold increase.

This data, compared to Penguin Waimai, which acquired Baidu Takeout, is also an incredibly exaggerated dimensionality reduction attack.

Originally, when the two companies simultaneously announced acquisition information, most internet practitioners felt that Baidu Takeout’s value would still increase, while Dianping might not even survive.

It once again directly proved Wang Mo’s foresight.

If Dianping were allowed to develop on its own, it probably wouldn’t have such a high market value now.

However.

Just when everyone thought that this Thousand Group Battle should be over and there would be no more ripples or big movements, Wang Mo did not intend to stop there.

Although Meituan is currently the undisputed leader in both the group-buying and takeaway fields, this at most only makes Meituan a software with a relatively large number of users; it cannot be called a phenomenal software.

In Wang Mo’s early layout for Meituan.

The current Meituan is not yet a complete entity.

Only when Meituan adds its last remaining function will it be able to be called a completely phenomenal software in this world.

And this last remaining function.

Is something that other internet companies have also gradually noticed during this period.

Shared bicycles.

When Wang Mo was preparing to heavily impact this market.

The Penguin Group and Ali Group also noticed the emergence of shared bicycles in some third- and fourth-tier cities during this period.

However, at present.

Other internet practitioners are not yet clear.

Who is the owner behind this nascent shared bicycle. Chapter 210: Old Ma’s Idea, Preparing to Acquire Hello Bike.

At this time.

Although Penguin Waimai is still operating normally.

Everyone knows.

It won’t be long before this software will be directly delisted due to losses; it’s just a matter of time.

Even after announcing its latest daily active users, Penguin Waimai has already begun to slowly sell some of its Penguin Big Cafeteria branches.

Probably.

Once Penguin Waimai has sold all of its Penguin Big Cafeteria branches, then this software will truly be at the point of closure.

Therefore.

After the final outcome of Penguin Waimai was determined, most internet users’ attention officially shifted away from the Thousand Group Battle.

After all, the Thousand Group Battle has been fought to this point.

Whether in the group-buying or takeaway fields, the true winners and losers have already been decided.

And during this period.

Quite a few internet practitioners have already noticed a potential hidden trend.

Originally, before.

The Ali Group had also discovered that there was something called shared bicycles in some cities.

But at that time.

Because their attention was focused on Penguin Waimai, they didn’t pay much attention to this aspect; their main focus was still on the takeaway field.

After all, Penguin Waimai’s final performance could also affect Ele.me.

But now.

As Penguin Waimai completely declared its failure, with delisting only a matter of time, and even having started selling its cafeterias, the Ali Group finally felt relieved.
