You Were Told to Design Software, But You Created Tiktok?!

272: Section 272For many heavy users of takeaway services, the top-up package is also one of the things they must purchase.

Meituan Takeaway is also very smart.

Their promotion and publicity for the Meituan Takeaway function are not simply about promoting the function itself, but rather, from the very beginning, they focused on the Red Envelope for takeaway.

Meituan Takeaway is very clear.

Their current advantage lies in the existence of the takeaway Red Envelope.

As long as heavy users of the takeaway function know about its existence, there’s almost no reason for them not to use it, and they will definitely download Meituan.

So Meituan Takeaway’s current publicity logic for the takeaway function is to let more takeaway users know about the existence of the Meituan Takeaway Red Envelope function.

They did not promote delivery times or product categories; they consistently focused on the takeaway Red Envelope.

And this was also the most correct choice.

They also placed various advertisements about the Meituan Takeaway Red Envelope on Douyin and other major social platforms.

In the following few days, the number of Meituan Takeaway users increased wildly, as if riding a rocket.

Meanwhile, the daily active users of other takeaway software also continuously dropped at a visible rate. The key is that most of the users they lost were heavy users, leaving behind only light users who occasionally use takeaway services.

Under such circumstances, major takeaway software began to frantically escalate their plagiarism of the Red Envelope function.

Ele.me and Penguin Waimai both found the best programmers in their respective groups to plagiarize the Meituan Takeaway Red Envelope.

Since this function itself is very simple, the difficulty of plagiarism is not high.

Therefore, on the tenth day after Meituan Takeaway launched the Red Envelope function, Ele.me and Penguin Waimai directly launched their own takeaway Red Envelope.

But at this time, after ten days of explosive growth, Meituan Takeaway’s market share in the takeaway field had increased from the previous 20% to 50%!

In just ten days, Meituan Takeaway surpassed Penguin Waimai and Ele.me in one fell swoop, becoming the number one in the takeaway field!

Chapter 197: Meituan Takeaway’s Market Share, Double Ma’s Last Struggle.

Although Penguin Group Buying and Ele.me both launched their own Red Envelope functions ten days after the Meituan Takeaway Red Envelope appeared, it was already a bit too late.

The takeaway Red Envelope function has an enormous impact on a takeaway software.

Although only ten days had passed, Meituan Takeaway’s market share had already increased from the previous 20% to 50%, an increase of a full 2.5 times.

This terrifying user growth rate had never been seen in any previous software.

At the same time, due to the launch of the Meituan Takeaway Red Envelope, the battlefield in the takeaway field almost became a monopoly.

Because Penguin Group Buying and Ele.me both have user bases exceeding tens of millions, and they also launched their own Red Envelopes in the fastest possible time, barely stabilizing their positions.

But for other smaller takeaway software, their user numbers were not as large as Penguin Group Buying and Ele.me, nor did they have top-tier programmers, making it impossible for them to launch their own Red Envelope functions within ten days.

Therefore, during these ten days, almost all other takeaway software suffered a tragic demise, with only some extremely small takeaway services, targeting only a specific area or community, perhaps still surviving.

They had no power to retaliate against the takeaway Red Envelope function launched by Meituan Takeaway.

Even Penguin Group Buying and Ele.me lost at least half of their user base.

Meituan Takeaway’s move was indeed a decisive blow, directly clearing the entire takeaway battlefield and allowing itself to become the leader in the takeaway field within ten days.

The achievements of these ten days can truly be called a miracle.

And at this ten-day mark, after Penguin Waimai and Ele.me both launched their own takeaway Red Envelope functions, Meituan Takeaway’s official Weibo also directly announced its latest achievements.

Meituan Takeaway’s market share had reached 50%.

This short sentence also greatly shocked countless users.

Because everyone knew very well that ten days ago, Meituan Takeaway’s market share was only 20%, far behind Penguin Waimai and Ele.me.

But in just ten days, Meituan Takeaway had already created such an exaggerated achievement.

Under Meituan Takeaway’s official Weibo post announcing the latest achievements, there were also many congratulatory comments from users.

”Congratulations, congratulations, I didn’t expect that after all the Thousand Group Battle, Meituan Takeaway would stand strong in both the group buying and takeaway fields.”

”The group buying side should indeed not change anymore, but the takeaway field is still uncertain. Penguin Waimai’s online cafeteria is about to be fully rolled out, and at that time, Penguin Waimai will also aggressively promote it. Who knows, Penguin Waimai might still have a chance to turn the tables.”

”That’s true, this online cafeteria of Penguin Waimai should also be a quite crucial function and update.”

”Regardless of the final outcome, the function launched by Meituan Takeaway has changed the entire takeaway field.”

”Forget about the takeaway field, this kind of situation where market share doubles in ten days has never happened before. Meituan Takeaway can now have its own name in the internet history of Yan Country.”

”If the Red Envelope function could be modified again, so that users who haven’t activated the Red Envelope also have the opportunity to occasionally receive Red Envelope coupons, that would be great.”

Most users were quite congratulatory about Meituan Takeaway’s achievements.

After all, the launch of Meituan Takeaway’s Red Envelope indeed saved a lot of money for many users who frequently order takeaway, not to mention that Penguin Waimai and Ele.me now also have this function.

Even if the other two software still had many users who hadn’t come to Meituan Takeaway, they would still be grateful for the function launched by Meituan Takeaway, because from that day on, they could also enjoy the Red Envelope benefits in their respective software.

At the same time, after Ele.me and Penguin Waimai launched the Red Envelope function and saw the user loss finally stop, Double Ma both breathed a sigh of relief.

But they also knew very well that they had only stopped the user loss, and the market share previously snatched by Meituan Takeaway would not return.

Therefore, on the second day after they launched the same Red Envelope function, Old Ma directly and significantly increased the amount and discounts of the Ele.me Red Envelope, to see if it could attract some users back.

As for Little Ma, after Penguin Waimai launched the Red Envelope function, he did not continue to act on this function, after all, Penguin Waimai still had one last big killer move yet to be released.

In Little Ma’s opinion, as long as their online cafeteria could succeed, then there would still be a chance to reclaim the market share in the takeaway field.

... Please give flowers ...

But for Old Ma, he could only rely on the simplest methods, such as increasing the amount and discounts of Red Envelopes and other activities, to see if the market share could rebound.

After all, he did not have the offline cafeteria that Penguin Waimai was currently arranging.

Ele.me’s market share was now ranked behind Meituan Takeaway and Penguin Waimai, in third place.

And in the following few days, because Meituan Takeaway and Penguin Waimai did not make any more additional moves, Ele.me’s takeaway Red Envelope, with its greater discounts, indeed attracted a considerable number of users in a short period, and its market share also rebounded somewhat.

However, at this point, Meituan Takeaway once again improved the Red Envelope function, completely crushing Ele.me’s last hope of regaining the market leader position.

In this day’s update, Meituan Takeaway launched the ’Foodie Bean’ function.

As long as you place an order, you can receive Foodie Beans, and five hundred Foodie Beans can be exchanged for a discount coupon.
