274: Section 274In his opinion, if Penguin Group Buying wanted to take the lead in the takeout field, this risk had to be taken.

And everyone present felt that this adventure would definitely succeed.

After all, the online cafeteria feature indeed contained many necessary elements for success.

However, just at this moment, someone suddenly pushed open the conference room door.

”Mr. Ma, a video of Wang Mo’s recent interview has gone viral and is trending. I think you should watch it.”

Little Ma’s secretary said.

Then, she uploaded the video from her tablet to the large screen in the conference room.

The next second, Wang Mo’s figure appeared.

”By the way, Mr. Wang, I have another question I’d like to know.”

”Currently, Penguin Group Buying’s layout for the online cafeteria is in full swing. Many outsiders believe that if this feature succeeds, Penguin will become the leader in the takeout field.”

”However, Meituan Takeaway has not made any moves to set up an online cafeteria. May I ask why?”

”Is it because of fear of risk, or for some other reason we don’t know?”

The reporter asked.

Facing the reporter’s question, Wang Mo simply chuckled softly.

”No reason.”

”I just simply think this online cafeteria will definitely fail.”

Wang Mo’s voice slowly echoed through the screen in the conference room.

Listening to these words, everyone present instantly darkened their expressions.

They had not expected that Wang Mo would directly belittle their large-scale online cafeteria layout in this interview.

The next second, Little Ma slammed his hand on the table and snorted coldly.

”It will definitely fail?”

”I don’t know where you got the courage to say such a thing.”

”When your Meituan Takeaway is completely defeated by our feature, I’ll see what you have to say.”

Besides Little Ma, the others in the room also couldn’t help but murmur.

”Currently, the entire internet market is quite optimistic about the existence of this online cafeteria. After all, this feature is fundamentally not much different from the previous Meituan Select.”

”But this Wang Mo, he’s actually not optimistic about this feature entering the market. I wonder what he’s thinking.”

”I think it’s because Meituan Takeaway doesn’t have an online cafeteria right now, so Wang Mo deliberately said that. He just can’t stand that we have more features in the takeout field than him.”

”Exactly, it’s a bit like sour grapes.”

At this moment, almost everyone present believed that Wang Mo’s words were a fit of impotent rage.

After all, there was indeed no possibility of this online cafeteria feature failing.

However, watching Wang Mo’s interview video and recalling Little Ma’s words, Ma Liuyun, who was beside him, suddenly thought of something, and his expression changed.

He quickly got up, looked at the others, and said, ”I suddenly thought of something.”

He looked at Little Ma.

”Before, with Meituan Select, Wang Mo did indeed thoroughly spread out the layout before launching this feature and conducting comprehensive publicity.”

”At that time, Wang Mo’s actions were enough to show that Wang Mo is someone who is willing to take huge risks for greater profits.”

”And this online cafeteria, in terms of risk level, is similar to Meituan Select before.”

”Since Wang Mo was willing to take risks with Meituan Select, why did he hold back with this online cafeteria this time?”

”Could it be...”

Ma Liuyun clicked his tongue.

”Is it really as he said?”

”Wang Mo is not optimistic about the existence of the online cafeteria?”

Because previous situations had already proven Wang Mo’s foresight, Ma Liuyun was somewhat worried about this. If Wang Mo truly didn’t think this feature could succeed, then he would also be very concerned.

And listening to Ma Liuyun’s words, the others in the room also seemed to come to their senses.

It did seem to be true.

In fact, before, when they acquired Baidu Takeout, Baidu Canteen had already been operating in some cities for a period of time. At that time, Baidu Canteen’s user base was not large.

At the time, they also thought it was because the online cafeteria feature had not yet been widely publicized, most people didn’t know about it, and it was still in trial operation.

After the acquisition of Baidu, the previous Baidu Canteen was completely shut down.

But now Wang Mo’s words made them recall the previous situation, so they were all a bit worried.

But at this moment, listening to Ma Liuyun’s words, Little Ma just smiled directly.

”You’re overthinking it.”

”A big reason why Wang Mo hasn’t laid out an online cafeteria is because Meituan Takeaway doesn’t have that capability right now.”

Little Ma patted Ma Liuyun’s shoulder.

”Do you think this kind of nationwide offline operation system layout is really that simple to thoroughly roll out?”

”In a nationwide offline operation system deployment, a large amount of manpower, material resources, and budget need to be invested, which is quite time-consuming and laborious. There are very few internet companies in Yan Country with this capability.”

”And even companies with this capability can at most only complete one round of offline operation system deployment in a short period of time.”

Little Ma paused.

”And not long ago, Meituan had just completed the entire Meituan Select’s offline operation system deployment and is currently recovering. Manpower and material resources are already insufficient.”

”Now, even if Meituan Takeaway wants to launch its own nationwide online cafeteria, it’s just willing but unable.”

”This is the most crucial reason why Wang Mo hasn’t entered the online cafeteria deployment.”

Listening to Little Ma’s explanation, Ma Liuyun suddenly felt enlightened.

He hadn’t considered the existence of this problem before.

And Little Ma’s voice continued to sound.

”When our Penguin finishes deploying the Penguin Big Cafeteria, if we want to deploy another national offline operating system of the same level, we will also need a period of rest and it will take a longer time to deploy.”

”As for Ele.me, they are simply unwilling to take risks.”

Little Ma was also quite confident in his own predictions.

And in reality, what Little Ma said was correct; Meituan indeed did not have enough energy to continue deploying another large-scale offline operating system.

But this being true doesn’t mean what Wang Mo said was false.

It’s true that Meituan doesn’t have the capability right now, and Wang Mo’s words were also serious.

However, it would take some time for Little Ma and the others to understand this point.

Then, Little Ma also looked at the others and spoke.
