Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 2097: Chapter 2097: Severing Ties

So she quickly became busy, ignoring Jian Yufei.

After a while, Li Mingxi’s phone rang.

She picked up the phone and rudely hung up!

The ringtone rang again, and she hung up again!

Jian Yufei looked at her curiously: ”Whose call is it? You really don’t want to answer it.”

Li Mingxi, while organizing documents, smiled faintly: ”It’s a call from Xiao Lang.”

”Why not answer? Haven’t you guys made up yet?” Jian Yufei asked concernedly.

”I broke up with him, but he doesn’t agree.”

”Really broke up?! Cousin, won’t you give him another chance?”

A hint of gloom flashed in Li Mingxi’s eyes: ”He and I are not suitable. Okay, let’s not talk about me, let’s go have dinner.”

Li Mingxi was unwilling to discuss Xiao Lang, so Jian Yufei didn’t ask further.

They found a nice restaurant to eat and chat. Li Mingxi asked her about the progress of the Divine Doctor’s research, to which Jian Yufei gave simple replies.

She didn’t divulge a word about experimenting on living people.

It’s not that she didn’t trust Li Mingxi, but she didn’t want others to judge Ruan Tianling’s actions.

Even if Ruan Tianling’s actions were wrong, only she could blame him, not anyone else.

In fact, she couldn’t even bear to blame him.

So she only blamed the Divine Doctor, never Ruan Tianling.

He is her husband, and everything he does is for her. She has no right to blame him.

...

After eating, the two parted ways and left separately.

Li Mingxi drove home and saw Xiao Lang’s car parked at the entrance of the community.

He was wearing a tailored wool coat, standing tall and handsome against the car door.

Seeing her, he smiled and walked over in big strides.

Li Mingxi also got out of the car and elegantly asked with a smile, ”What brings you to me?”

”I called you, and you never answered, so I had to come find you in person.” Xiao Lang stared at her, with a glimmer of longing in his eyes.

He hadn’t seen her in days and quite missed her.

”Sorry, I’ve been extremely busy lately. I don’t answer calls unless they’re important. I’m hurrying to go home and change before attending a seminar. You have two minutes, say what you need to say quickly.” Li Mingxi’s tone was unfriendly and distant.

Xiao Lang’s eyes dimmed: ”Do you really have to avoid me like this?”

Li Mingxi crossed her arms, laughing, ”Why would I avoid you? What’s there to avoid about you?”

”Mingxi, even if you’re mad at me, you should give me a chance to make it up. Now you’re not giving me any chance at all, do you really want to break all ties with me?” Xiao Lang asked in a low voice.

Li Mingxi looked him straight in the eye and said calmly: ”I think you misunderstood something. It’s not that I want to break ties with you, it’s that I already have. Don’t do this anymore, or we won’t even be able to be friends.”

Xiao Lang pulled her towards him, gritting his teeth, asked: ”What do you want exactly, for you to forgive me?”

Li Mingxi shook off his hand, ”Stay away from me, don’t bother me!”

With that, she walked away briskly.

Xiao Lang watched her determined back, feeling a pang of pain in his heart.

He felt powerless. He didn’t know what to do to win her back.

*************

Jian Yufei hadn’t left the house for several days.

In the meantime, she called that old man and told him to believe in her, that she would definitely save those people.

The old man was very forgiving, and he chose to trust Jian Yufei.
