Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 2060: Chapter 2060: Misunderstanding Li Mingxi

Xiao Lang was stunned, and the mention of Li Mingxi made his expression a bit gloomy.

Jian Yufei waited for his answer.

But he didn’t know how to respond. Li Mingxi had hidden the matter of the bone marrow from him. He wanted desperately not to like her, yet last night he still dreamt of her.

And all he could think of was her.

He felt anger and pain because of her deceit and ill intentions, and he drowned himself in alcohol to numb himself.

She had affected him greatly, and he couldn’t lie to himself and say he didn’t like her.

Even with such actions and thoughts she had, he still couldn’t bring himself to hate her or forget her.

Because of this, he was even more in pain.

Because he couldn’t let go, and yet couldn’t face her calmly, he was tormented and uncomfortable.

Xiao Lang tightly clasped his hands together, once again avoiding Jian Yufei’s question: “Why did you come to find me, is there something?”

Jian Yufei put down the teacup and said, “Actually, your bone marrow is a complete match with mine. I’ve known for a long time.”

“…” Xiao Lang looked up in astonishment.

“What do you mean by that?” Why did he have a bad feeling?

Jian Yufei didn’t immediately talk about Li Mingxi, but started by explaining her condition.

“Do you know? I don’t actually have leukemia. I was poisoned.”

“Poisoned?!”

“Yes.” Jian Yufei then explained to him how she got poisoned, the severity of the poison, and the reasons why she kept it a secret from them.

Xiao Lang listened in a daze, showing no reaction throughout, as if his soul had left his body.

He never thought that Jian Yufei couldn’t be saved, that she was going to die soon.

And he had… misunderstood Li Mingxi…

Under the double blow, Xiao Lang’s mood at this moment felt like it was being fried in a pan of hot oil, tormented and suffering.

After explaining, Jian Yufei said again, “I concealed it from you all because I didn’t want everyone to suffer and be sad. Everything my cousin did was for my good, for your good, for everyone’s good. She is a very good woman.”

“…Yes.” Xiao Lang nodded, his expression filled with regret, remorse, self-reproach, and sadness.

“She really is a very good woman. Such a good person, and I didn’t believe in her. I really deserve to die! What have I done, what have I said to her!”

He actually suspected that she wanted to harm Jian Yufei and called her vicious.

How could he be such a bastard, hurting her like that…

Even if she kept things from him, even if he was angry and upset, he shouldn’t have doubted her.

He should have listened to her explanation instead of accusing her and not giving her any chance to defend herself, only hurting her.

The more Xiao Lang thought about it, the more regretful he became. He suddenly stood up and quickly rushed out of the living room.

Jian Yufei smiled a little. It was now up to Xiao Lang to see how much effort he would make.

***********

Xiao Lang was driving fast on the road.

He dialed Li Mingxi’s number, and the phone rang for a long time. Just when he thought she wouldn’t answer, the call connected.

“Mingxi, where are you now, I need to see you!” Xiao Lang said as soon as he opened his mouth.

Li Mingxi’s voice was very calm: “I’m almost home.”

“Okay, I’ll come to your place!” Hanging up the phone, Xiao Lang headed towards Li Mingxi’s apartment.

There had never been a moment like now, where he was so eager to see her.

Jian Yufei had explained everything to him, and putting aside the sadness for Yufei’s condition, he was actually somewhat happy.

Li Mingxi hadn’t done those things, and he could continue to like her, and be with her.
