Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Capítulo 2071: Chapter 2071: Just Care About Ourselves

“But he’s really too evil! Saving a person’s life means having to kill another. What’s the difference from not saving? No, this is indirect murder!”

Jian Yufei clenched Ruan Tianling’s hand and said, “I don’t want him to treat my illness. Let’s report him to the police and bring him to justice! People like him need to be locked up, or more people will die because of him.”

Ruan Tianling wouldn’t do such a thing.

“Yufei, he very likely can cure your illness.”

“You also say there’s a possibility. Actually, deep down, I understand my illness can’t be cured…”

“Don’t say such things!” Ruan Tianling interrupted her harshly, “You will definitely get better.”

“In any case, I don’t want him to treat my illness. He’s an executioner. If someone like him treated me, I’d feel guilty.”

Ruan Tianling pursed his lips, “You should know, I won’t drive him away. He can cure your illness. How could I possibly let him go?”

“But…”

“No buts!” Ruan Tianling said sternly, “You say he’s an executioner, but actually, I am! Do you know how many people I’ve killed? Do you feel guilty being with me?”

Jian Yufei was stunned. She quickly held his hand, “I didn’t mean it that way. I’ve never felt guilty being with you. Besides, when you killed, it was for us. Otherwise, it would’ve been them or us. Oh right, I’ve killed too.”

Ruan Tianling laughed, “There you go. We don’t have to care too much about others; just care about ourselves.”

Jian Yufei didn’t want to continue arguing; going on would be too pretentious.

She nodded, “Alright, but if he makes any excessive demands, you mustn’t agree.”

“Okay, I won’t agree,” Ruan Tianling promised with a smile.

Only then did Jian Yufei feel somewhat at ease.

Ruan Tianling asked her, “Have you taken your medicine?”

“Not yet.”

Ruan Tianling got up to get the medicine. As Jian Yufei watched his back, her chest suddenly began to hurt a bit.

She frowned and pressed it with her hand, which made it hurt even more.

When Ruan Tianling turned around, he saw her face had turned pale and she seemed to be in pain.

Startled, he set down the medicine bottle and the glass of water and rushed over to her, “What’s wrong? Where does it hurt?!”

Jian Yufei took a deep breath and finally felt a bit better.

She shook her head weakly, “I’m fine.”

“We’re going to the hospital!” Ruan Tianling swiftly picked her up and took her to the hospital.

…

After a series of examinations, the doctor concluded that her condition had worsened slightly.

There are many symptoms of leukemia.

For instance, anemia, weakened immune system, spontaneous bleeding in mucous membranes, chest pain, prolonged periods, or nervous system involvement.

At present, Jian Yufei has shown many symptoms, and although they’re not very obvious under medication, eventually, the drugs will fail to slow the progression of the illness.

Every time Jian Yufei felt uncomfortable, Ruan Tianling’s mood worsened.

He sat by her bedside, watching over her, trying hard not to lose his temper, yet his face remained gloomy.

“I’m fine, you don’t have to worry too much. These symptoms aren’t appearing for the first time,” Jian Yufei softly comforted him.

Ruan Tianling clutched her hand tightly, pursing his lips, “I wish I were the one who’s sick!”

“That won’t do. If you got sick, I wouldn’t be as strong as you. I would’ve collapsed long ago,” Jian Yufei said with a smile.

Her mindset improved day by day.

In this way, she somewhat influenced Ruan Tianling.
