Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 2093: Chapter 2093: She’s Protecting Him

Ruan Tianling’s face was expressionless, and Jian Yufei felt very uneasy.

”Old man, what exactly do you want to say?”

The old man pondered for a moment and said, ”I accidentally learned that your husband is conducting medical research, is that right?”

”Yes. I have leukemia, and in order to cure me, he asked doctors to research medication. Is there something wrong with that?”

Could it be that he knows about the experiments they did on monkeys?

Come to think of it, aren’t monkeys also protected animals by the state?

Jian Yufei couldn’t help but feel a bit guilty, although all the monkeys are still fine, nothing has happened.

”You have leukemia?” The old man was slightly stunned, ”This disease should be curable, as long as a fully matched bone marrow can be found...”

”It’s useless, a bone marrow transplant won’t work for my illness.”

The old man understood, it must be because it couldn’t be cured, that they thought of doing research.

”Having an incurable disease truly is pitiful, but you shouldn’t harm others’ lives for your own benefit! Even if your illness is eventually cured, it was exchanged for others’ lives, would you feel at ease?”

Jian Yufei widened her eyes, ”What do you mean by that?!”

”Your husband is using live people for experiments, didn’t you know?”

”Impossible!” Jian Yufei looked at Ruan Tianling in shock, the latter expressionless, as if having heard nothing.

The old man continued, ”This is absolutely true, a few days ago a leukemia patient drowned, he was also one of the people your husband took.”

Boom—

Jian Yufei’s face turned deathly pale!

She tightly clenched her fists, without questioning Ruan Tianling, instead turning to ask the old man with difficulty.

”How do you know this? What evidence do you have?”

The old man said solemnly, ”I can’t provide evidence, but what I’m saying is absolutely true. If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do.”

”You have no evidence, how am I supposed to believe you?”

”If you don’t believe me there’s really nothing I can do. But you can investigate, I believe some missing leukemia patient cases should be uncovered.”

”How do you know this?” Jian Yufei continued to press.

The old man said lightly, ”That I can’t disclose. Child, I don’t think you’re a bad person, it’s okay if you don’t want to admit your husband did these things. You just need to persuade him to stop making mistakes. You don’t want to exchange innocent lives for your own, right?”

Jian Yufei clenched her fists tighter, her nails digging into her skin.

”I know what to do, thank you. If we really did something we shouldn’t have, we will definitely make amends in time.”

Her words already implied she believed the old man’s claims.

Ruan Tianling’s eyes were cold and terrifying, even a hint of murderous intent flashing through.

”Then I’ll take my leave. I look forward to your good news.” The old man stood up, smiling slightly.

Jian Yufei also stood up, ”Old man, if you don’t mind, could you leave your phone number? In a few days, I’d like to treat you to a meal.”

The old man hesitated for a moment, immediately understanding her intention.

She was protecting him.

Otherwise, if he walked out now, he might not even know how he’d die.

The old man looked at Jian Yufei with a bit more satisfaction, he pulled out a pen from his chest pocket, Jian Yufei quickly handed over a piece of paper.

After writing down his phone number, the old man left without anyone stopping him.

Jian Yufei glanced at the number, memorizing it, knowing that keeping it in her mind was the most reliable.
