The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 322: Chapter 152: Villain VS Savior (Part 3)_3

He Xiaotian was no longer just top-grade scum or a jerk—he was a beast in human skin, a scoundrel who had lost all human decency!

When He Tiantian first arrived, she was immediately subjected to an assassination attempt, and He Xiaotian totally deserved it.

He Tiantian: ...She wasn’t surprised in the slightest; she had guessed it would turn out this way.

The Gu Bei who desperately tried to kill He Xiaotian also had a deep connection with the male lead.

The male lead in this book is called Gu Nan, and you can tell there’s a relation just from their names.

Gu Bei is the male lead’s younger brother, as well as his only kin in this apocalyptic world.

If He Tiantian really ”struck back” and killed Gu Bei, and since all the initial blame rested on the original He Xiaotian’s shoulders, the male lead would most certainly regard He Xiaotian as his lifelong enemy.

Just killing He Xiaotian outright would be merciful; the male lead might just put such a degenerate who plotted against his own brother on the dissection table alive, and proceed with a direct vivisection study.

Yes, the male lead Gu Nan, is a mad scientific genius.

Uh, that’s not quite right!

To be precise, this book is a tale of the male supporting character making good.

Originally, Gu Nan was a malicious male supporting character who harbored some grudges against the initial male lead, Gong Yan.

After the apocalypse broke out, Gong Yan developed Superpowers related to the Healing and Spiritual Elements.

His unique Superpowers allowed Gong Yan to quickly assemble a Superpower Team, and then, in conjunction with other factions, they established a base.

Gu Nan secretly harbored resentment against Gong Yan, but outwardly he maintained the appearance of an outstanding scientist.

He came to Gong Yan’s base under the guise of ”developing a Zombie Virus vaccine” and successfully gained the support of the leadership.

Gu Nan carried out human experiments in secret, and even used Superpower Users as experimental subjects.

In fact, what Gu Nan most wanted was to get Gong Yan onto his dissection table, extract the Crystal Core from his brain, and use it for himself.

Unfortunately, before Gu Nan could lay his hands on Gong Yan, his laboratory was exposed.

As the male lead, Gong Yan naturally personified integrity and justice.

He judged Gu Nan and executed him directly.

This is the original plot of the novel, but in the rewritten story where Gu Nan was the focus, he was transmigrated into by someone bound to the ”Male Supporting Character Counterattack System.”

In order to redeem himself, ”Gu Nan” crafted a persona for himself—the Savior!

He conducted experiments on Superpower Users not because he was dark and cynical, but to extract elements from them that could neutralize the Zombie Virus.

Yes, those Superpower Users were indeed innocent, but compared to the survival of all humankind, their sacrifice was worthwhile, and greatly necessary!

Gu Nan was absolutely selfless; he did it all for the world!

He Tiantian: ”Though it’s slightly awkward, this is still a valid path to redemption!”

As someone who often received scripts for playing the villain, He Tiantian admitted that she sort of understood the transmigrator who redeemed the male supporting character.

Student Xiao D wiped the sweat from his brow and muttered softly, ”But some readers were very dissatisfied—they just couldn’t accept such a setting!”

Sacrifice is sacrifice only if the person concerned is willing and steps forward voluntarily.

Yet in the plot of the novel, many Superpower Users were betrayed by their teammates or sold out by their families, ending up on the dissection table without a choice.

To them, this wasn’t a sacrifice at all, but downright murder!

And why should they sacrifice themselves to build the reputation of a savior who’s really an Executioner?

If Gu Nan was really that great, why didn’t he use himself or his own relatives for experiments?

How can a person who takes grand gestures on behalf of others and uses their lives to achieve his own ends be redeemed?

”Those very unhappy readers went crazy with criticism in the comment section, and some even filed complaints...” Xiao D slowly explained.

He Tiantian speculated: ”So, was this book also taken down following complaints?”

Having had previous experiences with scripts being rewritten after reader complaints, He Tiantian had some insights.

”That’s not exactly how it went down; the author was probably influenced by the readers’ arguments, fearing the book would get more and more morally skewed and possibly banned, so she simply abandoned the novel!” Xiao D quickly clarified.

He Tiantian: Another abandoned story, huh.

Although the book was abandoned, the author had already sketched out a general framework of the apocalypse.

Additionally, in order to highlight the cruelty of the apocalypse and the ugliness of human nature, the author spent considerable effort depicting an apocalyptic scoundrel.

This scoundrel was none other than He Xiaotian.

And amongst his many transgressions, one that the original male supporting character, now the male lead, particularly abhorred was the fact that he had assaulted Gu Bei’s fiancée and then cruelly murdered Gu Bei.

Although the transmigrated Gu Nan didn’t feel much for Gu Bei, he had a strong sense of ”professional ethics” and felt that since he had taken over the original’s body, he had to take responsibility for the original’s actions.

The script may have been abandoned by the author, but it takes no genius to figure out the kind of ruthless vengeance Gu Nan would exact on He Xiaotian, that apocalyptic scum...
