Chapter 1241: Chapter 56: Pinned Against the Wall

Although the Long Knife Handler · Void appears exceptionally burly, wielding the long-handled blade with ferocity, creating sword qi with each swing and attacking in a wide arc, it is actually quite fearful of close encounters.

From the various abilities of the Long Knife Handler · Void, it is clear that it is a cavalryman. If it mounts a battle horse, its destructive power would be considerable. Unfortunately, it hasn’t had the chance to ride a battle horse, or rather, Su Xiao has ensured it doesn’t have the time to summon the undead horse.

Just after kicking the Long Knife Handler · Void away, Su Xiao lowers his center of gravity as a spiderweb-like crack forms on the stone platform beneath him.

Boom!

The platform shatters, and a black shadow darts towards the Long Knife Handler · Void.

Clang.

The blade aura arrives before the person.

As the Long Knife Handler · Void attempts to stand, a pale blue blade aura rushes toward it. Its combat instinct leads it to raise the long-handled blade in its hand.

A crisp sound reverberates. The Long Knife Handler · Void, not yet steady, withstands the impact of the blade aura. Its four-meter-tall body hits the wall with a bang.

The green in the Long Knife Handler · Void’s eyes dims slightly. It seems to have a sense of pain, but not strongly so, allowing it to quickly pose for the high-speed incoming assault from Su Xiao.

Almost instantly as the Long Knife Handler · Void steadies itself, Su Xiao appears in front of it, swinging the long knife down at its head.

The Long Knife Handler · Void remains silent; the language it speaks isn’t human nor undead language. Su Xiao only knows human and undead clan languages, so he couldn’t understand what the Long Knife Handler · Void had said earlier.

Clink.

Dragon Slash clashes against the long-handled blade, metal fragments scattering. Faced with the sharp Dragon Slash, the Long Knife Handler · Void’s weapon is evidently struggling to hold. Though it won’t be severed in a short time, in a prolonged combat, its long-handled blade will eventually be cut through.

The Long Knife Handler · Void leans against the wall, the force causing large cracks to appear in the wall behind it. In terms of power contest, it is evidently slightly weaker than Su Xiao.

As Su Xiao executed the slash, he was in a high-speed forward charge, in mid-air, utilizing all the inertia from his charge in that attack.

Using the momentum from the clashing blades, Su Xiao stabilizes himself, his body descending gradually. But before landing, he suddenly arches his body.

A force transfers from Dragon Slash in his hand. Since Su Xiao is in mid-air, the slash lacks a sustained power, meaning typically he would be knocked flying by the enemy.

Just as Su Xiao is about to be knocked away, he straightens his arched body, delivering a straight kick to the chest of the Long Knife Handler · Void.

With a muffled bang, the Long Knife Handler · Void nearly embeds into the wall. Su Xiao uses the momentum from the kick to leap backward, simultaneously scanning his surroundings.

Nothing unusual in the surroundings, Su Xiao tightly clenches his left hand, the hook lock of Boundary Line ejecting from his wrist, embedding into the ground. He promptly tightens Boundary Line.

Whiz～

Su Xiao, previously leaping backward, gets yanked down by Boundary Line from mid-air, landing swiftly.

Su Xiao lands in a half-crouch, eyes locked onto the Long Knife Handler · Void. This series of actions seems lengthy but actually occurs in a lightning instant.

In the eyes of others, Su Xiao first stomps the stone platform, charging towards the Long Knife Handler · Void, then slashes at the opponent. The Long Knife Handler · Void manages to resist Dragon Slash using the long-handled blade, then Su Xiao kicks straight at the opponent’s chest.

Using the reaction force from the kick, Su Xiao leaped backward. While in mid-air, he uses Boundary Line to yank himself down, quickening his landing speed.

When Su Xiao crouches on the ground, the Long Knife Handler · Void remains leaning against the stone wall. The major trauma to its chest causes its arms to involuntarily stretch to the sides, leaving its defenses wide open.

The moment Su Xiao lands, he charges forward again, horizontally slashing with his long knife.

Thud.

Blood splatters. Although the Long Knife Handler · Void doesn’t look like living, its blood is red—a color full of life energy.

A knife injury at least ten centimeters deep spans across the Long Knife Handler · Void’s chest, several ribs severed. Though severely injured, vital organs remain unscathed.

Even though the Long Knife Handler · Void is kicked against the wall and hacked, it boasts a highly sturdy physique. After all, it possesses the ’Lord’s Authority (Passive Lv.30)’ ability. Unless hit in a critical spot, it won’t be defeated in just a few slashes.

The Long Knife Handler · Void is different from Dunk Nik; although Dunk Nik is stronger, it pales in comparison in terms of durability. The difference stems from their size and combat style.

If the Long Knife Handler · Void were to cross paths with Dunk Nik, the one to die would certainly be the Long Knife Handler · Void—it is an undeniable fact.

Having just split open the chest of the Long Knife Handler · Void with a slash, Su Xiao twists the long knife in his hand, returning blade facing the Long Knife Handler · Void’s throat. The Long Knife Handler · Void promptly raises its long-handled blade vertically.

Squeal～

The blades scrape, emitting a screech akin to cutting glass. Although an open gap forms on the Long Knife Handler · Void’s blade, it avoids the fate of being slit at the throat.

Though dodging Su Xiao’s slash, the Long Knife Handler · Void cannot evade the ensuing side kick, getting kicked in the pelvic area.

With a crunch, the Long Knife Handler · Void nearly melds into the stone wall behind. Its body almost embeds into the stone wall.

Originally, Su Xiao intended to side kick the Long Knife Handler · Void’s pelvic area, but the opponent standing four meters tall made kicking its upper body challenging without leaping for a direct kick.

The Long Knife Handler · Void, grip tight on the long-handled blade, slashes a Mountain Cleaving Slash at Su Xiao, the blade aimed directly at Su Xiao’s brow.

Su Xiao rotates Dragon Slash in his hand, switching from a forward grip to a reverse grip, raising his right arm overhead, blocking with Dragon Slash in front of his forearm.

The long-handled blade descends, Su Xiao adjusts Dragon Slash’s angle slightly, keeping the blade inclined.

The edges of the two weapons clash, without the anticipated sharp metallic clink, as Dragon Slash blocks above Su Xiao and maintains an incline, causing the long-handled blade to glide to the side.

This slash marks the Long Knife Handler · Void’s first counterattack. Prior to the strike, its situation was somewhat dire, not pinned against the wall kicking, but pinned against the wall slashing.

Regrettably, the first counterattack yields no effect. This arose because Su Xiao and the Long Knife Handler · Void differ too much in speed. Solely comparing the true agility attribute, Su Xiao is ahead by 8 points.

Once attributes reach 80 points, every point difference becomes pronounced, let alone a gap of 8 points. Though combat isn’t solely a comparison of attributes, excessive disparity leads to unilateral dominance.

Su Xiao develops his Four Attributes simultaneously, meaning early-stage strength improvement is slow. In past confrontations with elite plot characters, he always sought weaknesses after avoiding their sharp edges to defeat them.

But now, the advantages of Su Xiao’s Four Attributes development emerge. The Long Knife Handler · Void’s strongest power attribute is 85 points, while Su Xiao, boosted by the King of Demon Hunting, reaches 89 points in power attribute.

The Long Knife Handler · Void’s strongest specialty falls short of Su Xiao’s. Needless to say, its relatively mediocre speed capabilities paled in comparison, causing Su Xiao, with his Four Attributes development, to completely dominate the Long Knife Handler · Void in speed.
