Reincarnation Paradise Park

Chapter 1240: Chapter 55: Release and Contrast

The remaining rewards were fine, but the reward of [Reed’s Medal] was somewhat special. Based on his estimation, Reed must be grinding his teeth in hatred towards him now. As for the success rate of forging equipment...

”Woof.”

Bubu Wang barked, somewhat incredulous that Reed was so easily outwitted and sent away.

”It wasn’t unexpected. Reed is strong, but he’s been trapped here for too long.”

Bubu Wang looked at Su Xiao in confusion. According to Reed, he had chosen to stay here voluntarily.

”Reed might have initially volunteered to stay here, but after being trapped for hundreds of years, he’d do anything to escape. Earlier, when Reed mentioned this place being a prison, he was likely referring to his own confinement.”

Su Xiao began searching Reed’s residence. After rummaging around, apart from some not-so-valuable metal ores and a large amount of combustible material, he didn’t find anything of great value.

Resolving things with Reed in this manner was already the best option. Firstly, Reed wanted to leave the tomb, and Su Xiao clearly fulfilled that wish by sending him to Reincarnation Paradise. Given Reed’s character, he likely wouldn’t object to Reincarnation Paradise—or perhaps he couldn’t refuse.

The next time they meet, Reed’s attitude will definitely be very hostile. However, forming a mortal grudge is unlikely; fundamentally, Su Xiao helped Reed regain his freedom. Although his freedom is limited, being in Reincarnation Paradise is far better than in this small stone room of only a few dozen square meters. He can’t even see a single person there, and in his boredom, he’s left to smash hammers. His physiological needs largely depend on himself, which is also tough for Reed.

Moreover, there are infinite possibilities within Reincarnation Paradise. As long as Reed isn’t out of his mind, he should see the opportunities there.

For someone like Su Xiao or Reed, who innately pursues powerful enemies, Reincarnation Paradise isn’t a terrifying place.

The hidden danger at the entrance has been resolved, and now it’s time to delve deeper into the tomb.

”Continue.”

Su Xiao looked at Gos. Gos instinctively swallowed his saliva. Just a few minutes prior, he had witnessed Reed being taken away and didn’t know where he had gone. Gos was visibly panicked, contemplating if he would face a similar fate.

Gos was overestimating himself; dealing with him wouldn’t require Su Xiao to go to such lengths.

With Gos leading the way, the group continued down the stone corridor, delving deeper into the tomb.

The group quickly passed through the not-so-long stone corridor and, upon reaching its end, another metal door appeared, identical to the previous one.

Elisa Herbert reluctantly approached the metal door, stretching her hand into the hole at the center of the door.

Rumble.

The metal door rose, and a chill surged from behind the door, causing Elisa Herbert to shiver involuntarily.

As the firelight appeared, opening the metal door seemed to have triggered some mechanism, lighting up the oil lamp stands behind the door one by one.

Behind the door was a wider stone corridor, about a dozen meters wide and seven or eight meters high. On both sides of the walls, iron oil lamps burned fiercely every several meters.

No hordes of enemies came rushing out; the wide stone corridor was deathly silent. Su Xiao signaled to continue moving forward.

The stone corridor was long, and after advancing around several hundred meters, Su Xiao saw a metal door on the left wall.

This metal door was about five meters wide and eight meters high, with a sharp sword and a shield carved on it.

Su Xiao pressed his ear against the metal door, vaguely hearing footsteps inside, sparse and scattered footsteps.

Elisa Herbert could open this metal door, but it wasn’t a door that had to be opened. The vast stone corridor was seemingly endless; continuing forward was also an option.

After hesitating for a moment, Su Xiao decided not to open this metal door. Unknown creatures lurked behind it, but his purpose for entering the Xiya Temple wasn’t to battle foes but to find the Stone of Extinction, which lay deeper in the tomb.

The group continued moving forward, and after traveling a few dozen meters, another metal door appeared on the right wall, again one of those doors that Elisa Herbert could open. This time, the pattern on the door was a longbow and crossed claws.

Sword, shield, longbow, claws. These four patterns appeared on two metal doors; what they represented, Su Xiao didn’t know for the moment.

Ignoring the two metal doors, Su Xiao decided to continue forward.

About five minutes later, the wide stone corridor turned a corner, which Gos checked ahead, finding no danger.

After passing the corner, the group continued along the stone corridor for over a hundred meters, reaching its end. Beyond lay a spacious open area.

Su Xiao examined the open area at the end of the stone corridor, which was a few hundred square meters in a rectangular shape. In the center, a stone platform stood, on which lay a tall man. He had features of both an Undead and a Human, lying as if dead on the stone platform.

The man wore black armor all over his body and was about four meters tall. A human of such height might appear gaunt, yet his physique was well-proportioned.

The Eye of the Apostle floated up as Su Xiao tried to gather information on the figure.

...

Long Knife Handler · Void should be the elite unit responsible for guarding the entrance to Xiya Temple. As for Reed, that guy should not even be counted within Xiya Temple.

Long Knife Handler · Void sharply contrasts with Reed, Su Xiao feels apart from being thick-skinned, he can easily thrash this four-meter-tall undead clan member.

Previously, Reed’s strength really shocked Su Xiao, making him cautious all the way, but the current situation is surprising, this gatekeeping mini-boss seems... somewhat weak.

Gos also seems to sense that Long Knife Handler · Void’s strength isn’t impressive, he sighed in relief, this level of enemy he can handle alone.

”Bubu, A Mu, you guard this stone corridor.”

Su Xiao instructs Bubu Wang and A Mu to hold the rear, those two metal doors seen before intrigue him, although those two metal doors probably won’t open.

Su Xiao draws the Long Knife at his waist, usually, he fights elite plot characters to the death, but now, he seems able to easily strike down this towering yet average mini-boss.

Of course, strength here refers to Su Xiao’s perspective; for more than 90% of Third-tier contractors, Long Knife Handler · Void’s power definitely isn’t weak, its skills are few but their skill levels are high.

Su Xiao calmly walks toward the stone platform in the center of the open space, Long Knife Handler · Void is lying flat on it, a Long-handled Blade placed beside it, typically used by cavalry, with Long Knife Handler · Void’s being a large model, at least five meters long, with the blade’s edge gleaming coldly.

As Su Xiao approaches within twenty meters of Long Knife Handler · Void, the prone Long Knife Handler · Void suddenly opens its eyes, a pair of green pupils, seemingly burning with ghostly flames within.

The four-meter-tall Long Knife Handler · Void stands up from the stone platform, its Metal Helmet covers most of its head, only revealing its eyes, its mouth and nose area contains many breathing holes, but whether it breathes is unknown.

”Hoo~”

Long Knife Handler · Void takes a deep breath, seemingly revived from a fake death state, and its first reaction is to grab the Long-handled Blade beside it.

Long Knife Handler · Void stands up, standing on the stone platform, its green eyes staring directly at Su Xiao.

”Kanoti (unknown language, not undead language).”

Long Knife Handler · Void swings the Long-handled Blade with both hands, chilling winds spread outward, its momentum extremely imposing.

Bang!

Rock fragments shatter, Su Xiao vanishes from his original spot, reappearing atop the stone platform, his Long Knife slicing down toward Long Knife Handler · Void.

A crisp sound arrives simultaneously, Long Knife Handler · Void’s Long-handled Blade edge shatters a piece.

Su Xiao spreads his legs, left arm exerting force.

Clang, the armor clashes with rock, Long Knife Handler · Void unable to withstand Su Xiao’s monster strength, directly kneels on the stone platform, in front of Su Xiao.

Su Xiao’s body crouches low, delivering a side kick.

Bang!

Su Xiao kicks Long Knife Handler · Void’s cheek, its Metal Helmet immediately creasing, Long Knife Handler · Void swiftly flies off.

A thunderous clang resounds, Long Knife Handler · Void crashes into the stone wall tens of meters away, sitting in the corner, shaking its head, clearly dazed by Su Xiao’s thunderous kick.
