Chapter 1222: Chapter 37: Beneath the Throne

The power struggle has just begun, and the two top contenders have lost their qualifications to compete. This leaves everyone regrettable, yet it is inevitable.

Su Xiao stood motionless within the Council Hall, observing the remaining three princes and princesses.

The Seventh Prince was full of helplessness. He actually wanted to do something just now, but unfortunately, he was best at two things: fighting strong enemies and flirting with women, followed by a series of mischievous actions. He was known as the Kidney-strong Young Prince.

Earlier, the Seventh Prince wished to stand up like the other two princes and tell the Old King that he would lead the Holy Warriors’ army to the front lines.

After some deliberation, the Seventh Prince dismissed this idea. If he really gathered the scattered Holy Warriors from various battle zones, it would make the Old King sleepless. He wasn’t helping the Kingdom through a crisis; he wanted to rebel.

Among all the princes and princesses, the Seventh Prince posed the greatest threat to the Old King. Not to mention his own combat effectiveness, just his title of ’Wing of the Kingdom’ was enough to reflect his reputation among the Holy Warriors.

The title ’Wing of the Kingdom’ wasn’t something the Old King wanted to bestow upon the Seventh Prince; rather, after a certain event, more than 70% of the Holy Warriors requested it from the Royal Family. It was no longer a matter of whether the Old King wanted it; it was a necessity.

Fortunately, the Seventh Prince’s personality was somewhat lazy, commonly known as having Buddha Nature. He would definitely marry a large group of beautiful queens and form an expansive harem group, which would even include female Holy Warriors. This was the Seventh Prince’s lifelong dream.

This Buddha-like Seventh Prince certainly wouldn’t rebel; he was leaning back on the seat, looking at the ceiling at a 45-degree angle, seemingly contemplating life, but was actually considering where to flirt tonight.

Don’t consider the Seventh Prince a waste; as long as he was within the Royal Capital, no one could breach it unless the Undead Clan’s army was at the gates.

The Second Princess was bowing her head in contemplation. Her goal was very simple, which was the throne. Whether the Big Prince, Third Prince, or Seventh Prince fought for the throne, the new King wouldn’t dare to act against them immediately. Their financial power and military authority were not just for show. As for the Seventh Prince, he could gather more than 50% of the Holy Warriors within the Kingdom in a short time. To act against him? That would be courting death.

The Second Princess was different; she had connections through both Black and White. If the new King ascended, she definitely wouldn’t survive.

The Sixth Princess found herself in a similar situation, her mad-dog personality was too daunting, yet she wasn’t nervous. On the contrary, she observed her brothers’ expressions with interest.

The power struggle continued while the current situation became stranger.

The withdrawal of the Big Prince and Third Prince was good news for other competitors, but not for Su Xiao. It would make the struggle for power more chaotic and time-consuming.

Fortunately, all Su Xiao needed to do now was to find information related to the Relic of the Annihilation Law.

Regarding the relic, Su Xiao learned some news from Ilde; the relic was located within the territory of the Undead Clan. This wasn’t a secret to the high-ranking members of the Undead Clan.

Though the relic was within the Undead Clan’s territory, they couldn’t enter it because they didn’t have the ’Key’.

The ’Key’ mentioned by Ilde didn’t imply that the doors of the Relic of the Annihilation Law were locked. The meaning of the ’Key’ was unclear even to Ilde, but she knew one thing: the ’Key’ was in the hands of the human Royal Family.

Before arriving at the Council Hall, Su Xiao didn’t know what the ’Key’ Ilde referred to was. But after handing over the manipulator Lupu to the Old King and completing the first ring of the hidden side quest, Su Xiao understood what the key was.

”Shadow Stone”

Through the information on the ”Shadow Stone,” Su Xiao already had a general understanding of the relic. This relic has three parts, and different keys are required to enter these locations. The Shadow Stone is one of those keys.

Su Xiao has already obtained the Shadow Stone, and not only that, he also obtained information about the ”Destruction Stone,” which was related to the second ring of the hidden side quest.

If Su Xiao wanted to head to the Relic of the Annihilation Law, he first needed to find the ’Keys’. Although he had already found one key, the Shadow Stone, more keys were always beneficial.

’Beneath the throne,’ Su Xiao had heard this many times. Before the High Priest died, he roared the phrase, ’Beneath the throne,’ and was then dismembered by the Forbidden Guards. Before Commander Kalon died, he also said ’Beneath the throne’ and then took his own life with his sword.

Initially, Su Xiao thought that ’Beneath the throne’ represented some kind of darkness under Royal Authority or a curse.

But from the hidden side quest’s second ring, he realized he had completely overthought it. The meaning of beneath the throne was simple; it was the things beneath, as in below the Royal Palace, and the throne was likely the entrance.

This meaning was too simple, so much so that it made Su Xiao waste a lot of brain cells.

Situated in the Kingdom Council Hall, Su Xiao looked at the throne high above. The metallic throne was pitch black, reportedly crafted from Meteorite from Outer Space. This thing felt very sturdy to Su Xiao; he couldn’t destroy it, and its appearance was... ugly.

The surface of the throne was uneven, sitting for too long would definitely hurt your backside, hence there were multiple layers of Beast Skin draped over it.

This was likely the entrance, but Su Xiao couldn’t go and research it now; several princes and princesses were still around. If he went to scrutinize the throne now and wasn’t suspected, that would be strange.

Moreover, beneath the throne, there were numerous mechanisms, and these required someone with Herbert Royal Family bloodline to unlock.

A plan appeared in Su Xiao’s mind: first bind one of the princes or princesses, then bring them beneath the throne to find the [Destruction Stone].
