Chapter 1211: Chapter 26: Truth and Lies

Three minutes later.

”Cough, cough, cough...”

Ilde coughed up a mouthful of fresh blood, her breathing growing increasingly rapid. At this moment, her chest felt like it was on fire, and her organs seemed to be burning.

Blood trickled from beneath her mask, and Ilde was already somewhat unsteady on her feet.

”Nobanite (in Undead Language: Still a chance).”

Although Ilde did not possess rich combat experience, her willpower was very strong. More importantly, she only needed to stall Su Xiao for a while. It wouldn’t be long before someone came to support her; she hadn’t infiltrated the Royal Capital alone.

It made sense; someone with her strong combat strength but lacking extensive combat experience from the Undead Clan wouldn’t infiltrate the Royal Capital alone. The real main force was her master, Executioner Dunk Nik, a terrifyingly powerful undead.

However, Ilde no longer had any chances. If Su Xiao wasn’t confident in capturing Ilde alive, he would never have put away Dragon Slash.

Buzz~

The kinetic boots operating at high load were marked with crimson-red lines. Su Xiao crouched and side-kicked. Ilde’s left arm and leg bent, striving to protect her torso as much as possible. As for the two daggers in her hand, they had been kicked away by Su Xiao 36 seconds ago.

Ilde flew to one side, crashing into a wall with a thud. A large dent appeared on the wall, and due to inertia, Ilde’s body bounced out of the pit.

While Ilde was still airborne, Su Xiao had already appeared behind her, his right fist clenched, delivering a punch to Ilde’s spine.

Bang.

Ilde flew forward again. She had been nearly continuously attacked by Su Xiao for three minutes, causing her consciousness to gradually blur, and the piercing pain throughout her body to grow fainter.

In fact, even if she hadn’t been hit by the flash bomb earlier, defeating Su Xiao would have been nearly impossible for her. It was a gap in strength and experience—an insurmountable gap. Or rather, if Su Xiao used his sword, whether she could survive would still be unknown.

If Ilde were to battle Joseph Cole, Joseph Cole would have a 70% chance of winning.

The biggest difficulty in Su Xiao’s battle with Ilde was capturing her alive; otherwise, the fight would have ended long ago.

With a thud, Ilde fell to the ground, the lower half of her mask shattered, revealing a pointed chin and the unique gray-white skin of the Undead Clan.

”I...still...haven’t...lost.”

Green light flickered on Ilde’s body, clearly indicating she was about to unleash a big move. However, in the next moment, a dark shadow swiftly headed toward her head.

Bang!

Su Xiao kicked Ilde in the head, sending her accumulated ”big move” back with a kick.

After crashing through two walls, Ilde tumbled into a wardrobe, noticeably more subdued this time.

Su Xiao walked through the hole in the wall into the room where Ilde was, blood dripping from his fingertips.

Su Xiao saw an arm wrapped in bandages among the pile of clothes. He grabbed the arm, pulling Ilde out from within the clothes.

Ilde’s body hung limply, her eyes tightly shut, her head leaning weakly to the side. At that moment, her emerald eyes opened.

”Ptui!”

Ilde spat toward Su Xiao’s face. She wasn’t spitting saliva but ejecting a metal pin from her mouth.

With a ding, the metal pin embedded into an energy shield with a strength of 150, stuck on the energy shield.

Seeing this light blue energy shield, Ilde’s pupils quickly contracted.

”Oh? Seems like you recognize this thing?”

Su Xiao looked at Ilde with interest.

”Proud Song...can’t possibly be blue.”

Ilde muttered, and upon hearing her words, a smile appeared on Su Xiao’s face, but in Ilde’s eyes, Su Xiao’s smile was terrifying to the extreme.

”Proud Song was originally blue.”

Su Xiao released Ilde’s arm, and as her body fell, he aimed a punch at her jaw. This location is rich in blood vessels and nerves, sudden impact would cause unconsciousness.

Bang! Ilde’s vision went dark, and she lost consciousness.

”To even know the name ’Proud Song,’ it seems the Undead Clan has some understanding of the Shadow of Annihilation Law.”

Su Xiao slung the unconscious Ilde over his shoulder, her red cape draped across his chest, and he stepped toward the building’s exit.

Su Xiao successfully captured Ilde alive; of course, he wouldn’t hand her over to the Royal Family. If he did that, he would gain nothing. He captured Ilde not just for clues about the hidden side mission, but more importantly, if he could directly learn the location of the Shadow of Annihilation Law’s relic, that would be an even greater gain.

Su Xiao’s goals in this world were threefold; everything he was doing now was to accomplish these three things.

The first is to complete the main task; the reward for this main task is too enticing.

The second is to find the relic of the Shadow of Annihilation Law, which would be a huge benefit for Su Xiao.

The third is to complete the adventure group’s promotion; so far, the adventure group’s promotion task has not yet been issued, and requires further waiting.

What Su Xiao is doing now is completing the first and second tasks.

...

Three hours later, at the Iron Hand Mansion, inside a half-sealed basement.

This basement was originally used to store fruits and vegetables, but due to its excellent soundproofing, the previous Iron Hand converted it into an interrogation room.

In the role of Iron Hand, interrogation is a common occurrence, so the room is filled with various interrogation tools, some of which Su Xiao has never seen before.

The Undead girl Ilde is tied to an X-shaped iron frame, her head drooping, seemingly unconscious, though she actually woke up ten minutes ago.

At this moment, Su Xiao is sitting on a wooden chair, directly opposite Ilde, holding a tablet, engrossed in a game.

”I know you’re awake.”

Su Xiao suddenly speaks, and Ilde’s eyelids twitch. Su Xiao pauses his hand controlling the tablet; his previous statement, ’I know you’re awake,’ repeated approximately every hour, serves to awaken the enemy and create immense psychological pressure.

Su Xiao seldom uses equipment to interrogate enemies; he is more skilled at destroying their mental defenses, thus obtaining more accurate intelligence.

Inflicting physical pain alone eventually leads to an enemy’s breakdown, and intelligence gathered in such a state is not reliable.

”That old guy should come to rescue you soon. I left traces along the way, hard-to-find traces.”

Su Xiao continues to manipulate the tablet, seemingly chatting rather than interrogating Ilde. As for the old guy, it’s purely his speculation.

With Ilde’s combat proficiency, would the Undead Clan only send her to infiltrate the Royal Capital? Of course not. Ilde is an excellent warrior, very strong and young enough to take on important tasks in her current state.

But this assassination of the Old King is too crucial, so the Undead Clan would certainly send experienced Undead warriors. Ilde is probably one among them, in charge of aftermath or silencing, not directly involved in the assassination.

”You...”

Ilde grits her teeth, revealing her clean incisors and four canine teeth.

”Without you as bait, that old guy would never take the bait.”

”Shameless!”

Ilde growls, her human language still not fluent.

Su Xiao’s expression remains unchanged, his fingers rapidly tapping on the tablet. He isn’t playing a game; he’s recording something.

”Shameless? Then let me tell you something even more shameless: if that old guy really comes to rescue you, he’ll definitely die here.”

Su Xiao’s tone is very calm.

”Master...”

Ilde immediately realizes something and forcibly holds back the words she wanted to shout.

Su Xiao, meanwhile, records several keywords on his tablet: Master, male Undead, age between 40 to 60, very strong, weapon preference toward long dagger or short knife.

”Ilde, I haven’t seen your master in a long time. He truly is very strong, but this time I’ve prepared a big gift for him.”

Upon hearing Su Xiao say ’Ilde,’ the Undead girl slightly opens her mouth, her pupils constricting somewhat. Aside from her gray-white skin, her appearance barely differs from that of a human girl, but her stature is about 1.4 meters, and her ears are very pointed.

”You, you...”

Clearly, Ilde is panicking. She can confirm that in her lifetime, she has never met this Iron Hand.

Boom!

A loud bang is heard above, followed by a cacophony and muffled noises.

In the Iron Hand courtyard, A Mu is pounding the ground with a remote alarm clock hanging around his neck, surrounded by guards shouting and fighting—a ’truly impressive’ scene.

Twenty minutes later, two Guards, covered in blood, enter the underground interrogation room.

”Sir, he escaped, but he’s severely injured. We’re sending people to pursue him.”

The two Guards leave the interrogation room after speaking, and Su Xiao remains seated on the wooden chair the whole time. The willpower of this Undead girl is very strong; getting intelligence from her mouth isn’t something that can be accomplished by language alone.

”That old guy is truly strong, he actually burst through the defense line.”

Su Xiao’s expression remains unemotional, but Ilde quietly lets out a sigh of relief inside. Though she’s confused, Su Xiao calling her name really startled her because only three Undead in the whole Royal Capital know her name.

”However, this time he’s doomed. To match his strength, I’ve brought ten Holy Warriors, because the opponent is Executioner Dunk Nik, he must be dealt with carefully.”

Su Xiao locks eyes with Ilde for the first time; information is power. Before this, Su Xiao collected a lot of data on Undead Clan experts. Among men aged 40 to 60 who use dagger-like weapons, there are only three. Two aren’t very strong, unlikely to have trained a disciple like Ilde.

Ilde’s mouth opens and closes; she knows not what to say, but she can confirm one thing—there’s definitely a traitor among them.

Ilde still hasn’t realized that when she exclaimed ’Master,’ it provided Su Xiao with a series of crucial intelligence.

”Until next time; perhaps next time I come here, I’ll bring ’Dunk Nik’s’ head.”

Su Xiao stands up and walks out of the underground interrogation room. Throughout, he never directly asked Ilde for any intelligence—it’s not yet the right time.

Given the current situation, the hidden side mission’s completion seems close; perhaps Executioner Dunk Nik is the mastermind behind all this? It’s certainly possible, and quite likely.

Sure enough, reasoning isn’t Su Xiao’s strength; directly capturing an enemy for interrogation is the most effective and quickest method. The previous complex murder case troubled Su Xiao greatly; now things are a lot simpler. Once he can pry open Ilde’s lips, all will be well.

Moreover, leaving traces of Ilde for her master was not just words. Even if her master is truly formidable, Su Xiao feels no fear; his ’Demonic Hunt Time’ has accumulated full Mana Value and can be used at any time.

Defeating the young and then the old is troublesome, so after dealing with the young, Su Xiao plans to directly lure in the old and finish him off.
