Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Night.

The sky is quickly covered by a curtain of night, the dead silence in the sky disappears. The celestial Star River begins to flow with time.

Only by looking up at the sky at night can one feel the passage of time.

Power City is brightly lit.

Even at this time, lightning occasionally falls from the darkness overhead.

Each time it falls, it illuminates the surrounding sky, emitting a rumbling thunder.

Evidently, the residents here seem to have grown accustomed to falling asleep with the sound of thunder.

The quality of sleep is not affected by the thunder.

It is said that those from Power City who are aiding at the World Scar find it uncomfortable to sleep at night without the sound of thunder. They voluntarily adjust their resting places into dormitories with loud snoring.

However, the energy from the lightning that falls into the Thunder Towers of Power City also powers various lights around the city.

These bulbs, powered by energy, emit light, illuminating streets and alleys, as well as the constantly operating ports.

The Sound of Dawn, a unique and conspicuous ship, silently docks in a corner of the port, just out of reach of the lights.

At this moment, Alka and the others have already returned to the ship.

Not just Alka, but others have also returned one after another. After all, Power City is only so large, it’s just a city that almost occupies the entire island.

Besides the city structure and architectural style, which are interesting, there’s nothing particularly special.

After the novelty wears off, one can feel the city’s monotony.

On the deck, everyone is sitting casually.

Under their seats made of special vines, the seats formed from vines, are unusually comfortable.

Although everyone is lounging and sitting scattered across the deck, their voices can still be heard.

”What are your thoughts on Power City’s request for our help?” Alka asked.

Just during the meal, he already told everyone about the Priest from the Holy Machine Church requesting their assistance.

Juanlu said, ”Today, we also met a councilor from Power City, who took us on a tour of the Thunder Tower and also requested our help.”

Upon hearing this, everyone roughly understood.

”Interesting, but the other party’s attitude was indeed humble enough. Honestly, I’m willing to help,” Jason said.

Chadite lies next to Alka, their chairs are connected like lounge chairs.

Looking up at the dark clouds that have become somewhat indistinguishable in the night, but if moonlight and starlight pass behind them, one can slightly see the outlines of the clouds.

”This matter isn’t simple, if it’s just a matter of dispersing clouds, I don’t believe the Holy Machine Church lacks additional forces to assist.”

After all, Power City is nominally a city-state affiliated with the Holy Machine Church.

Moreover, whether it’s the city atmosphere, construction, or development, they all fit the aesthetic of the Holy Machine Church.

Honestly, if one first arrives here, it would instantly seem like the city is managed and developed by the Holy Machine Church.

The resemblance is too high.

”That’s right, the elemental parameters here are incorrect, the dark clouds above us are definitely not ordinary clouds,” Simon said.

At this time, Lucilia, lying on Chadite’s chest, said, ”After leaving the Church, I specifically visited the city’s record library. Learned a little about the city’s situation.”

”The dark cloud overhead is precisely the opportunity that led to the city’s founding, established 630 years ago.

Of course, at that time it could mostly only be considered a small village, it was the later development that turned it into this.”

According to records, the dark cloud overhead appeared approximately 310 years ago, reportedly constructed by the founding members at the time. It’s clearly man-made rather than naturally formed.”

After Lucilia’s words, Alka continued to add: ”The issue isn’t the size of the cloud, but what is hidden within the cloud. The Thunder Elements gathered in there have already transformed into something even more absurd.”

”What’s your suggestion then?”

”Of course to help, we must help, because it doesn’t necessarily mean anything bad. For me, it’s actually a good thing.”

Alka said with a smile.

...

The following day at dawn.

The eternally silent daylight scatters sunlight.

Making this steel city emit an aged metallic sheen.

Another bolt of lightning falls, the rumbling thunder seems to herald the arrival of daylight.

Alka and the others have already left the port, this time directly invited to the town council.

A building roughly seven or eight meters high, this area constitutes the city-state council.

They are led all the way up to the top floor.

They push the door open and enter.

Inside, apart from the Priest they previously met, there’s also Fitz, whom Juanlu and the others know.

Additionally, there are several councilors dressed in various colors of clothing.

There are men and women, old and young.

Now it seems, Fitz is actually the youngest among them.

”You must be the well-known members of Compass Eye, thank you for coming.” The oldest elder, wearing glasses with a metal frame, leaning on a cane and supported by a female councilor, approached, speaking in a hoarse voice.
