Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 388: Chapter 212 Mastering the Ring of Light_3

At this moment, the Ring of Light remained in its restrained state, quite unremarkable. Alka held the Ring of Light in his hand and said, ”Let’s see who this Treasure is suitable for.” With that, Alka handed the Treasure to Lucilia.

”You try first. See if your current puppet body can accept it.”

Although it was highly likely it wouldn’t, what if? After all, it was a masterless Treasure that no one had controlled. It would be a shame not to experiment.

Lucilia nodded, gently touching the Ring of Light with both hands.

However, the Ring of Light showed no reaction. Instead, the Treasure within Lucilia’s body rejected it.

”How is it? Do you feel anything?”

Upon hearing Alka’s question, Lucilia replied, somewhat perplexed, ”This Treasure isn’t suitable for me, but it doesn’t reject me either. It... ignores me.”

Ignored Lucilia?

Hearing this, Alka rubbed his chin, pondering.

This means it doesn’t consider Lucilia an Intelligent Life capable of controlling it at all. This situation only occurs in people with incomplete bodies. That is why those whose bodies are not whole cannot control a Treasure.

Thinking of this, Alka suddenly recalled Simon, who was currently lying in his sickbed. When a person becomes disabled *after* already controlling a Treasure, it does not affect their ability to continue controlling and using it. But before controlling a Treasure, it requires a high degree of bodily completeness. Even Lucilia and he had only managed to control hers by exploiting a loophole combined with a coincidence. Under normal circumstances, even having a severed arm would prevent it. Of course, a disability like losing a finger doesn’t count.

According to Simon’s words, and with the sequence of events now completely clear, he must have controlled that Treasure only after entering a state of Stagnation and his hands were already maimed. Perhaps he himself doesn’t even know he’s controlling a Treasure. So that Treasure truly is something controlled by the Wise One, which is why it automatically chose Simon. The specific details can wait until Simon wakes up tomorrow.

With this thought, Alka pulled his focus back to the present.

Then he took the Ring of Light again and handed it to Chadite.

Among them, Pororo, Jason, Julia, and Juanlu had not yet mastered a Treasure. If this Treasure were given to any of them, they would likely be compatible.

The only one for whom compatibility might be difficult is Chadite. Whether for this reason or because of her contributions, Chadite should be the first to attempt to master it. The other four will try in the order just discussed.

Chadite took a deep breath, extended her hands, and grasped the Ring of Light.

She was afraid it might reject her, like the previous Treasure.

As she touched the Ring of Light, it showed no signs of rejection, which was a very good sign.

Chadite gently channeled her Magic Power into the Ring of Light.

As the Magic Power flowed in, the Triangular Gem at the center of the headband began to emit light and then started to rotate.

Seeing this, the others slightly stepped back to give Chadite enough space. This clearly indicated that the Treasure was compatible with Chadite and could be controlled by her.

Chadite also closed her eyes.

As the Triangular Gem rotated, it emitted even more light, brilliantly illuminating the entire captain’s cabin. This forced everyone to squint slightly and shield their eyes with their hands. However, the light grew stronger, almost turning the entire captain’s cabin into a space awash with white light, obscuring everything else.

In an instant, all the light retracted, plunging the captain’s cabin into darkness. All the light in the space was absorbed into the Gemstone, including the sunlight streaming in through the window.

”Mastering this Treasure is creating quite a commotion,” Jason quipped from the side. After all, they had gone through the Treasure-mastering process many times and witnessed it on several occasions. Chadite’s attempt this time had produced the most dramatic visual effect.

Just a few seconds later, the light returned. The captain’s cabin was restored to its previous level of brightness.

Chadite had already opened her eyes. The others looked at her. It was no illusion—Chadite’s eyes were glowing. Simply meeting Chadite’s gaze felt blinding, prompting people to avert their eyes.

At this moment, it wasn’t just her eyes. Chadite’s entire being was emitting light, like a humanoid beacon.

Chadite took a deep breath and slowly placed the headband on her head. Under her control, the light radiating from her body dimmed, and the glow in her eyes similarly faded, leaving only a faint shimmer.

After completing these actions, Chadite finally sat down on a bench.

Noticing their curious gazes, she smiled and said before anyone could ask, ”The main function of this Treasure is the control of light. Like this.”

As she spoke, she opened her palm. The ambient brightness noticeably dimmed, and a sphere of light appeared in her hand. She gently tossed the sphere of light towards the window. It flew out and landed on the sea.

It exploded in an instant. Dazzling light flashed out, causing everyone to instinctively turn their heads away. Then, this flashing light transformed into individual strands, which flew back in from the window and converged in Chadite’s hand.

Chadite then gently closed her fist, and the captain’s cabin was plunged into darkness once more. Just as before, she had absorbed all the light.

But this time, despite the darkness, everyone could see their surroundings as clearly as if it were daytime.

”Can this darkness be pierced by Dark Vision?” Alka asked.

”It can,” Chadite replied, ”but Dark Vision would still be severely impaired.”

Hearing this, Alka nodded.

”How large is the range?” Julia asked.

If the range was large enough, it was indeed a very powerful ability.

”It depends on my strength,” Chadite explained. ”With my current power, I can probably absorb all the light from the Sound of Dawn and the area immediately around it.”

A radius of forty meters—that was certainly enough for battle.
