Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 382: Chapter 210: The Person Frozen in Tragedy_3

So that’s how it is. The surviving wounded from before must have stayed on the lower deck to avoid this animated corpse. No wonder there were so many piles of bones on the lower deck.

This animated corpse wasn’t stationary, as they had previously seen. Instead, it was wandering through the corridor, moving slowly forward with its back to them.

Seeing Jason raise his gun, Alka quickly pressed it down.

Seeing Jason’s confused expression, Alka raised his hand and gestured with the Bone Saber he had just obtained.

”Let me try it.”

He had already briefly figured out how to use the weapon, and now there was a perfect opponent to test it on.

As he spoke, Magic Power surged from his arm into the pale white blade. With the infusion of Magic Power, the blade immediately activated. Countless fine, sharp points emerged on its surface. Alka then forcefully threw it.

The Bone Saber transformed into a streak of white light, instantly embedding itself in the enemy’s back. However, it didn’t pass completely through. As half of the blade pierced into the flesh, the small, two-finger-long blade immediately expanded. The fine points on the blade swiftly protruded outward, spreading from the small entry wound in the back to the surrounding areas. The bone spikes spread out from the entry wound, riddling the animated corpse’s back like a honeycomb.

Pororo walked over, hunching slightly to examine the corpse. He couldn’t help but rub the goosebumps that had already formed on his arms.

”This weapon... it’s truly brutal.”

The group looked and saw at least twenty or thirty fine, white bone spikes protruding from the front of the animated corpse. These bone spikes jutted out from its chest, a dense and gruesome sight.

Alka walked over, flipped the corpse, and then placed his hand on the small hilt protruding from its back. With a gentle infusion of Magic Power, the bone spikes instantly retracted, reverting to their previous small, bladed form. Clear water welled up from the blade, washing away the grime. Alka gave it a shake.

Alka looked at the Bone Saber in his hand, exceptionally pleased.

”From now on, you’ll be called Bone Piercer.”

As he spoke, the Hand of Precision formed on Alka’s hand, and he swiftly engraved four characters for ”Bone Piercer” onto the Bone Saber. Satisfied, he stored it back in his Pocket Ring.

”Alright, let’s keep moving.”

However, they had barely advanced two or three meters when Julia suddenly stopped, her brow furrowed.

”What’s wrong?” Seeing Julia suddenly halt, Alka and Jason, who were behind her, immediately stopped and scanned their surroundings warily. The two in front of them also assumed combat stances.

Julia pointed diagonally ahead. ”There. There’s a high-Energy object over there.”

The group turned to look.

Alka gave a slight shrug. Two small figures instantly vanished into the nearby shadows to scout ahead. In such narrow and complex ruins, these two were the best scouts. They could move through every crevice and corner and hide in the shadows, undetected.

It wasn’t long before Ling returned alone.

”It’s a person, a living one. Master is beside him now.”

Upon hearing this, the group immediately realized that this survivor was very likely the master of the Dream Bubbles.

Alka said, ”Lead the way.”

Everyone followed Ling forward, climbing over a piece of shattered metal sheeting and into a room. Ling then pointed to a collapsed and compressed section of wall ahead. ”He’s behind there. It’s all blocked off except for a few small gaps.”

Alka surveyed the area, then tapped on the metal debris in front of them, identifying a weak spot. Cutting through here shouldn’t cause a secondary collapse.

A silver card appeared in his hand. As Magic Power flowed into it, the card activated, emitting a sharp, silver light. Alka slowly cut a small opening in front of them, then pulled the section of metal aside like a door, revealing a passage. He went in first, and the others followed closely behind.

It was a cramped room. The original doorway was completely twisted and sealed, and the adjoining walls were blocked by collapsed debris. As the lantern’s light flickered, Alka could see the situation clearly.

A man caked in blood and grime lay in the corner. His left arm was completely missing from the shoulder. His right forearm, from the elbow down, was mangled flesh, with only a shard of protruding bone and some scraps of tissue still attached. The man’s arms are essentially useless.

His eyes were tightly shut, and his medium-length hair was disheveled, partly obscuring his face. A faint, grayish-white film enveloped his entire body. This must be the Spell that froze him in stasis.

Alka recognized the man’s face. It’s Simon.

Seeing this, Alka frowned. He’s still in that frozen state. He wasn’t lying to me. But how is this possible? All his teammates died because the Spell’s effect on them faded from a lack of Magic Power. Yet his has somehow persisted for so long—ten years! It’s truly incomprehensible.

”Is this the person you were talking about?” Jason asked, looking at the wretched man before them. He remembered Alka saying the survivor wasn’t in good condition. But this man was far beyond ”not good”; he was practically on death’s door.

Alka nodded. He walked closer. When he was near enough, Alka finally sensed an object emitting Magic Power. Tilting his head, Alka looked. Tucked behind Simon’s back, near his waist where he leaned against the wall, was a finger-like construct pressed against his skin, supplying him with Magic Power.

So this is what’s been maintaining the Spell’s effect on him. What kind of object can sustain something for ten years?

At this thought, Alka narrowed his eyes slightly and began to carefully examine its external details.

This thing... could it be...?
